Thankyou for taking the time to check this out. I have organised with a leading local business in the health industry an infomation night on exercise and general health issues with a lap band. The Business i have been working with is a state of the art sports clinic that offer physio, massage, pilates, personal training, gym, doctors all at competitive prices and walking groups for free. With my help we have been organising group work outs for lap band people only.In your private work out you would have the gym and a personal trainer at your disposal. You can put together your own group, bring along family and friends or choose to only work out with other lap banded people. Another service they are starting is free walking groups at large shopping centers where you can stay out of the weather and walk in a safe, supervised and friendly environment. Or they can tailor an exercise program for you to take back to your own gym or to use at home. They deal with all shapes and sizes so dont feel like you cant be involved. This clinic has played an instrumental part in my weight loss of 37 kgs in 9 months. If you are interested and would like to know more i can email you a fact sheet. I am very commited to helping other people with the lap band in achieving there goals. Please send a message on here or email me at Spaldo2@hotmail.com If you would like to find out more about this. Cheers Andy

hey all, Just mustered 200 head of cattle. First time my boy had seen country like this. He is used to workin cows in an arena. 37 degrees celcius here today. First hot day for the year. Going to be another dry summer here. Lucern will hit $30 a bale soon! Got a friend training cutting horses in Florida at the moment. Would love to come to the states and visit him.

Hi all, My name is Andy. I am 27 and am from the mornington peninsular in victoria Australia. I was banded 9 months ago at a weight of 149 kgs and am now down to 112 kgs. My first goal was 115 kg and am now shooting to get under 100. The band has changed my life so much. It has helped me gain confidence and show me i can do anything i put my mind to. I had battled with my weight loss for 5 years before i decided to get some help before i got to 30. It has made me aware of how important a healthy lifestyle with good eating and exercise is. So much so that i am now studying to become a personal trainer and i am going to specialise in people that have been long term obease or that have had surgery for weight loss. I am giving up an 8 year career with Qantas to do this and am commited to helping others to make it work for them. I am very motivated and look forward to sharing my journey and helping others along the way. Drop me a line at Spaldo2@hotmail.com if there is anything you would like to talk about or ask me. Andy

I know what you mean. But you have to start somewhere and thats where the clinic is. Once we gain more experience we will look at visiting support groups or group sessions in the park but no gym is going to let another business come in and train people at their gym. We have one person coming from geelong for the info night to get some ideas and she can get a program worked out for her that she can take back home. Most gyms will let you work any program and you can pay for a session with a trainer that will give you advice on correct posture and technique. It will take some work getting of the ground but as i said its a start. Good to get feed back of any kind though.

I see you have been looking at this post but not many replies. IF you have time please let me know if its too far away or if there is something that bothers you about it? Andy

You could do your own work out at their gym with other bandsters with the supervision of a personal trainer. You could just use the trainer for advice on correct technique with the program you have alerady had set out for you. Also you do not have to commit to a contract either so you can pay as you go.It is just such a positive place to work out and i think the chance to have a gym all to yourself and other bandsters to talk to would be wonderful. The clinic is in Frankston. We have one woman coming all the way from geelong to check it out and go home with some fresh lap band specific ideas for exercise. There is no pressure at all so if you want to just come along the info night you can find out eactly what they may have to offer. Andy
