Not much to say. I've been steadily increasing in weight for as long as I can remember. When I crossed 250 a couple years ago, I started really looking into losing weight. I've tried exercise, diets, and hypnosis, but none of it worked. I was well aware that I ate too much food (even when what I ate was relatively healthy), but I just wasn't satisfied eating like other people. I looked into the the band a while back, but wanted to avoid a surgery. Eventually, I decided that this was probably my best option, went to a information meeting, and moved on from there. After the information meeting, I looked up my policy and there was a specific exclusion for weight-loss procedures, even with comorbidities, so I had to figure up how to get the money. I got a loan from my credit union for part, and financed the rest through a line of credit. Money will be pretty tight for the next few years, but it should be worth it in the end. I figure that it'll pay for itself in food savings eventually, but probably not before my loan is due. :-)So it'll be rough, money-wise, for a little while, but the long-term benefits will make up for it.
