I had slight fill last Wednesday, and my band actually feels looser than before I went in. Has anyone had this happen? I'm confused and frustrated. Fills cost me $150 each time, plus time off of work, which isn't easy for me to take.

For those of you who are quite tight in the mornings, do any of you have pills that you must take in the morning that cannot be crushed? I take Wellbutrin in the mornings (I can't take them at night as they keep me awake all night). Some mornings I'm too tight to take them. Does anyone else have this problem? Jodie

Too tight to take morning pills?
Jodieleigh replied to Jodieleigh's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yeah, that's sort of what happens to me too. I take a few, so maybe I just have to wait longer between each pill. Thanks for you help! Jodie -
Any idea what caused the slippages each time? Also, what does it feel like when it has slipped?

can PBing be a sign of being too full?

Wheetsin, you're hilarious - I love your posts! Jodie -
Just wondering how long to stay on liquids after a PB? Any advice? Thanks, Jodie

How long till steri strips fall off?
Jodieleigh replied to KarenG.'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told I could take mine off after a week. Did your surgeon say anything about them? -
For those of you who take Metformin (or any medication, for that matter) with your meals, when do you take it? Since we're not supposed to drink with our meals, do you take your medication before you begin eating? Jodie
-
Thanks Fabfatgrl. I don't worry about water intake before a meal either. My surgeon's instructions were liquids up until the time you eat, then nothing for 45-60 mins after the meal. Before banding I used to eat, then take my medications, and I haven't yet gotten used to doing it opposite. I guess I'll just have to get into the habit. Hopefully pretty soon I won't need metformin anyways.

Thanks Julie. That's an interesting analogy. I think I'll talk to my doctor about trying it.

JulieNYC - What differences in side effects did you find between Zoloft and Wellbutrin? I've been on Zoloft for about 6-7 years and I literally cannot function properly without it, but I'm wondering if it's having a negative effect on my weight loss. Any ideas? Jodie

I had this too. I'm not sure why. It went away within the first week or so after surgery. Jodie

I'm glad to hear you're doing so well after your surgery. I was banded in the same clinic July 12, by Dr. Mumford. I must have had a reaction to the anaesthetic, because I was quite sick and feeling lousy for 3 days. I wasn't sure how I was going to make it on the plane to go back to Vancouver. I know what you mean about having to wait so long in the waiting room, and then rushing you out after the surgery. I had the same experience. Did you "get" to wear the white toque and blue gown like a smurf? That made me laugh. :biggrin1:

Heehee - you smoked during surgery? Sorry, just struck me as funny! But I know what you mean  Jodie

I have morphed into a food monster...what is up?
Jodieleigh replied to cookielover's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Cookielover. I went crazy with food once I got a surgery date also. Part of it was nerves, and part of it was a feeling of panic: oh no - I'm never going to be able to eat this stuff again! But you will be able to - just in very small amounts. I tried not to beat myself up about the binges, and I soon got tired of doing it. Try to keep busy other ways - reading, or do you have any hobbies? Does your surgeon require a pre-op diet? Jodie -
I was banded Thursday, July 12! Dr. Mumford and his staff are very nice and encouraging. Wow - I still can't believe it's done! If anyone is thinking about this surgery and has any questions, feel free to ask me anything. Jodie
-
I have a question to those of you who have already been banded. I will be banded July 12 at 12:30, and I'm wondering if I'll feel well enough to go the new Harry Potter movie the next night. Anyone have advice on this? Thanks. Jodie
-
Hmmm... I thought it opened on the 11th too, but when I searched for movie times all I could find was information saying it opens on the 13th. I'm confused. :cry

Thanks Uniqueone. I guess I'll see how I'm feeling and go from there.

Everything's happening so fast :omg:- I had my phone consultation with Dr. Mumford from the Weight Loss Centre in Toronto June 18, was approved for financing June 21, and scheduled for surgery July 12! Yikes - that's less than 2 weeks away! I started Optifast today, which I don't mind the taste of - I bought chocolate. I am pretty hungry though. Hopefully in a couple of days ketosis will kick in. I'm getting quite excited/anxious. :clap2: Jodie

I want to burp so bad but I can't. Help Me!
Jodieleigh replied to luvinke's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Has anyone tried the Gas-X dissolvable strips? I haven't been banded yet, but bought them because I couldn't find liquid Gas-X. -
I'm booked for July 12 with Dr. Mumford at The Surgical Weightloss Centre in Toronto. Jodie
