SummerAgain replied to sandiegokate's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
August 17th here! I have 2 of those "blender cups" that you can get at GNC. It has the little metal spiraled ball inside that keeps your shake smooth whenyou shake it. -

Anyone else start dieting before the surgeon said to?
SummerAgain replied to HolliJ's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I completely agree about the chewing and smaller bites being the last pre-op "frontier" once I get a date. (hopefully this week I'll know) I am already having protein shakes for breakfast everyday. I am a bit of a gagger so it's been tough! LOL -

I'm trying. It's hard to stay away from that "last meal" syndrome. I have quit drinking coffee, caffeine of any kind, soda, and carbonation. I am taking the vitamins everyday to get in the habit. I am successful about 75% of time in not drinking with meals. I am attempting to stay away from bad carbs and sugar. NOT EASY! I believe I will be banded sometime in mid to late August so I'm just working on those habits, ya know?! -
I am fairly certain I will be in August as well....but I dont want to jinx it so....let's just say I'm being nosy! LOL P.S. How do you get the August 2009 thread officially under the sub forum? I am asking unofficially, of course! ; )

I have my pysch consult in a couple of hours. I plan on continuing on with her (if we click) through the process. Does anyone else go to therapy? What is your experience with it? Support group as well?

What a jerk! :rolleyes2: I have really great insurance but I am choosing to pay out of pocket to see the nutritionist at my surgeons office for just this reason!

What was you weight/BMI at your first consult, and then what was your weight/BMI on surgery day? I have been to my first consult and my surgeon does not require a pre op diet but does encourage one. Just looking for a little motivation to do it on my own steam and not because I have to.

Thank you so much for all the responses. Wow, you all did so well pre op! I have definitely been more mindful of my bites and chewing....it is harder than I had imagined!

have in their car or bag at all times for being on the go constantly? If you are running all the time to kids sporting events that could run long....or decide to stay out a bit longer on a day of shopping....what are your must have non perishable staples??!

Wow! Nice work!
