I had my revision on the 9th, and I am not having any problems with my clear liquids. I am beginning to worry that my sleeve is too big or is leaking. My diet plan from my surgeon and nut will not allow me to start my protein supplements until day 7. I hate feeling hungry!! Best of luck to you!!

Congrats! I am 4 days post op. Unfortunately it sounds like my surgeon and nut are a little more conservative than yours. I am on clear liquids through tomorrow. I have lost 15 lbs since my pre op appointment on Jan 2nd. Good luck on your journey! Sounds like you are doing great!!

So, I am in my way to the hospital. My band to sleeve revision is TODAY.... To say I am extremely nervous would be a huge understatement!!! I am scared to death, I am a worrier by nature. I am confident with my surgeon I just worry about complications. Wish me luck, and if you are of the praying type, please send a couple up for me and my caregivers today. I will post later with an update.

I am being discharged from hospital. I did not rest well last night due to pain and nausea. If I took pain meds, it mad me sick. If I took nausea meds, I still hurt. They took my JP drain out. It did not hurt nearly as bad as I thought it would. Wow what a difference 12 hours makes. I one thirty this morning I thought I wasn't going to make it. Now, I am feeling good. It is amazing what a little liquid lortab can do for you. I am just trying to get my liquids in and my mouth is staying sooo dry.. You will have to excuse me if I am rambling on and on about random things. I am medicated.

Thank You!! It is now 1:25 am central time. I have developed a low grade fever (99.5). They say this not uncommon, but it still worries me. I have done my walks up and down the hall and have used my incentive spirometer. I do not have a pain pump, I just have to ask for it when I am hurting. Which is pretty much all the time. My JP Drain has been filling up pretty fast. Is this normal?? Still glad I have the band out, but the just got smacked by a Mack truck has got to go!!

My Surgery was scheduled for 7:00 this morning.. At 7:00 I was scared to death and was was in the holding area. They came and gave me a shot if Versed to help me relax. I barely remember anything else until I woke up in recovery at 10:30. My surgery finally got underway at 7:30 and the doc came out to speak with my family at 9:30. So far, it has been a little more painful than my band surgery, which I guess is to be expected. I am very sensitive to anesthesia and have been nauseated for most of the day. I have walked up a down the hall a few times. All in all it has not been as bad as I had feared!!! Let me know if you guys have any specific questions. Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes,

Hi my name is Jennifer. I was banded in April 2009. I have had limited success with the band and have begun to have reflux issues. I was given insurance approval for a band to sleeve revision just before Christmas. My surgery date is scheduled for Jan 9th and I begin my pre op diet tomorrow. I just wanted to introduce myself as I am trying to prepare mentally for the surgery. I am beginning to get a little anxious and doubting myself. I know the band needs to come out; I just am extremely scared of the increased risks of going from band to sleeve. Just please keep me in your thoughts and prayers!! Here are just a few stats on me: PRE BAND HIGH WEIGHT- 272 BANDED 04-19-2009. SURGERY WEIGHT- 260 CURRENT WEIGHT- 213

Thanks LollyMoe! I am glad I am not the only one that is not at restriction yet. Although, I wish we were. I will try try to make it to the meeting but I live in Jasper, my husband works every weekend, and I have two little shadows of my own. I know it would help me tremendously to talk to and see others on this same journey :thumbup: Maybe I will see you there.

Thanks for the encouragement :eek: I just worry alot about slippage and/or erosion. I really have no desire to experience the PBing thing. But I can definitely eat more than a cup of food before feeling satisfied. I am following all of the food rules, however I could stand to exercise a little more than I do. They told me I would know if something was wrong and I feel fine. Hopefully the fill I get on 12/22 will do the trick. *fingers crossed*

Ok, everyone. I haven't posted in a while but I need some answers. I was banded on 4/29/2009, I have had 5 fills for a total of 8cc's. I have absolutely NO restriction! What's up with that? Lisa had told me that she didn't have any patients over 9cc's. I am having no adverse symptoms to speak of. I am still losing about 1 lb a week, but by sheer will power. I have never felt restriction and I have never PB'd. Do you think it is just taking me longer to reach restriction or do you think there is a problem? How many cc's are ya'll at? I know everyone is different but still? I have an appointment for 12/22 for another fill, should I ask Lisa if something could be wrong?

How often do ya'll do a meet and greet? I am so dissapointed that I will be unable to attend on Saturday! I already had prior plans before finding this group. I hope everyone has a wonderful time and I will catch the next one.

I didn't even get to update in the chart!!! I didn't lose ANYTHING this week No excuses, but it is my TOM. Maybe I will have an awesome week next week. Good luck to everyone for a good upcoming week!!!:smile2:

Thanks for the welcome :thumbup: So far so good since surgery. I don't feel like I have reached restriction yet (I've only had two fills). Other than that, I feel great. I read about the meet and greet and I appreciate the invite, but I had already made plans for that day. It is my 11th wedding anniversary. I hope to make the next one.

Hi, all! I am new here. I was so excited to find a Miles and Schmitt thread. I was banded by Dr. Miles on 4/29/2009. I haven't been able to attend many support group meetings (I live in Jasper, and have two little ones). It is so encouraging to read some of your posts:) I am thrilled to find an online community.

ok, I had a pretty good week. That being said, I also had a fill on Tuesday and was on mushies Wednesday and Thursday. That always helps!!! Count me in!! I am only 12 weeks post surgery and already at a plateau. I was banded on 4/29, was sent home with band aids over 5 small incisions. I went in for my post op appointment on 5/05 to have staples removed and steri strips applied. By 5/06 I had blisters where the adhesive was and the blisters were oozing (TMI). Not the incisions themselves but where the steri strips were stuck to my skin. So, I went ahead and pulled them off and put band aids on for a few more days. I must be allergic to that type of adhesive.

I was banded on 4/29. I will have my first fill on 06/04. From the start of my pre op diet I have lost 21 pounds to date. I started at 258 and I am now at 237.
