Thanks for the words of encouragement. Have you gone back to work or are you taking some time off? I have a great job but I just started it 3 weeks ago so I'm a little nervous about how much time I will need off. The great thing for me is I work from home on a laptop so technically I could take the laptop upstairs (my office is downstairs) and use it while I lay in bed. So I'm hoping I could have the surgery on a Thursday and take Thurs and Friday off and return to work on Monday (from bed if necessary). After both of my c-sections when I got home (2 days after surgery) I returned to life as normal....moved a little slower but did everything I normally did.

I'm glad to know that your surgery was a success! I was a little concerned about scar tissue as well I've had two c-sections and my tubes tied in the last three years. I had a problem getting in and out of bed after my c-sestion but after a few days I was completely back to normal so I'm hoping for the same with this. I'm getting a little discouraged as I read all the post of people removing the band and going to the sleeve but I'm going tomorrow to meet with Dr. Baptista so maybe he will fix those fears. Keep me posted on your success. Who ended up doing your surgery? I saw your post about only two incisions. Man that would be nice. I already have 5 holes on my stomach where I had my gallbladder removed when I was pregnant.

Hi,
I technically still have BCBS but we're in the middle of switching to Aetna. What I can tell you that I found out was with my plan the surgery was covered at 90% after a $250 deductible and then I had an out of pocket expense of $1,000. They had requirements that I had to meet before the surgery which were a 6 month (consecutive) physician supervised diet plan, psychological evaluation and meeting with the dietician. If you have any other questions please send me a message. I wish you luck in your journey

just wanted to check on you and see how your surgery went. I'm so excited to hear about it.

Thanks so much! I called them about 10 minutes ago and they seem so much more knowledgeable and nice. I still have to go to the seminar next week but if it saves me $1300 it's totally worth it. Good luck on Monday with your surgery and keep me posted on your progress I am so excited for you!

Wow thanks so much for the information...It sounds like we are alike. I hated Novus I asked them could I pay less than $1500 and just have them file my insurance...he laughed at me. I told my husband it was like trying to buy a car from a used car salesman. My daughter recently had surgery so I know how to battle with insurance if I have to so I felt this money was a waste. My only concern was I liked the realize band and didn't know if I would find a doctor who did it. What band did you choose? I'd love to keep in touch to hear about your experience getting banded. I'm not terribly nervous about the process because I look at my two kids and know I'm doing it for them.

Thanks for reaching out to me. I didn't like the Novus Center at all...I felt it was very infomercial like. Did you just call your insurance company to see who was covered? How do you like Cwyes and Baptista? I wanted to stay at Memorial if possible because I live close but didn't want to pay $1500. Did you just call Cwyes and Baptista and make an appointment or did you have to go to an orientation? Sorry to bombard you with questions

it does help thanks! It's not my favorite hospital and the only reason I'm really considering it is because it's within 4 blocks of my house. How was your recovery after the surgery? I've read lots of people say they were up shopping the day after.

Thanks so much. I'm going tomorrow night for the orientation and am very anxious to get started on the whole process. When did you have your procedure and how much have you lost so far? I've seen such a wide variety of weight loss stories.
