    What color/race do you see?

I agree with TOM, cheating on his wife makes him human. I am one to believe that what goes on in your home is your own business not mine. I honestly believe it has no place in politics. I know that many will say it show integrity, honesty, ect. BUT I am sorry men are pigs and many will cheat. Sorry guys! :bored

Anita I would like to apolgize to you, but there is no apology for such ignorance. I am glad that you have not let it become you! I only wish they could see they didn't break you, maybe then they would rethink it all. And yes, Tired Old Man, that identifibility is what helps fule the fire, but I agree if we were all 100% we would find something else to fight over. Martin Luther King had a dream, would he be proud of us today?

What does everyone do for a living?

A mother of 2 girls. A fulltime student with a double major in Sociology & HumanAging. A BNI Director in Michigan. And a freelance graphic artist....
  4. I think it because they are raised with more of a respect for the beauty of a bigger girl. I think their moms do a great job of teaching them that! Or it could be just a hangover from when the Renissance era. Then if you were overweight it was known you were a noble or had money. Fat then meant you had enough money to eat whatever you wanted!

Would you do it all again ?

I would do it again in a New York minute! I am just sorry it took me so damn long to get the courage up!

    What color/race do you see?

Absolutely, and they have no chance of getting out of the cycle because of the wage difference and the lack of education they experience themselves. It is a vicious and sad circle they are trapped into. I know few break free, but what about the rest?

    What color/race do you see?

OK I have to speak on this one! First of all unfortunately racism in this country is institutional MORE than it is individual. It is sad that there are people that are racist, but it is ever sadder that it is BUILT into our system and MOST of us don't even know it! For example in 1950 before Affirmative Action, African Americans were 3 times more likely to be in poverty and 2 times as likely to be unemployed. In 2000 50 years later and after Affirmative Action, there are STILL 3 times as likely to be in poverty and 3 times as likely to be unemployed. An African American man makes .60 cents to the dollar of a white man doing the SAME job with the SAME experience. What does that tell you? In an school where the children are predominately minority they suffer GREAT institutional racism. They often do not have books, proper seats, too many students in one class, poor equipment or none at all. I could go on and on. How do you think these children are EVER going to get ahead if they are not even getting the basics? If you want to compare schools, please go to www.schoolmatters.com and look it up! Stats never lie. What really hurts minorites is the systematic racism. Yes, it is sad that someone could be so ignorant to judge them on skin color. AND by the way, race as we know it is a social construct. It is based on visual sightings "Oh she looks Hispanic or he looks black" it may not be so, but we use visual markers. And I am sorry to say in America we ARE all almost a mixed race. BUT what hurts minorites are those things that are so woven into our system we do not even see them. In the south many slaves were raped or had affairs with their white slave holders. The Native Americans also became mixed, for alot of them with the white man, many not by choice. We are all a product of some cultures mixing, and it can be proven we all came from the same blood. (No I am not talking evolution I am talking proven genetics)

YEAH~ I finally found you all again! I was feeling so lost! lol...no really. I get my second fill Tuesday and since the .5 ccs did nothing at all for me I am going to fight for more. I am really dissappointed in myself this past month. I lost a few, they came back and have been struggling not to gain. I have been very depressed. The only thing that has kept me away from the Twinkies is the fact that others have noticed the previous few months weight loss. Otherwise I would be face down in comfort food.... :omg:

I learned: -I know check calories on EVERYTHING that goes in my mouth or I think about putting there. -Portion sizes REALLY should be the size of a card (go figure) -Nothing feels better than putting on my fat lady jeans by accident and then realizing the are just too damn big!!! -Most of all I learned that I can do anything I want!

Hi Teleah I had surgery at Hurley, they are awsome! I was VERY nervous and called once to call it off. But I am sure as almost all of us will tell you it is the BEST thing we ever did. I would do all of it again in a heartbeat! Dr. Wagner is really awsome. He assited Dr. Farhan on my surgery. Don't worry at all, trust me! :grouphug:

    Skin Cancer?

I went to the PC and she sent me to a dermatologist. They have biopsied it and I am waiting for results. They are pretty sure it is basal cell carcenomo. BUT they also said it is not life threatening and is treatable!

    Skin Cancer?

Hello all, I am hoping someone else has had this unfortunate disease. I was told yesterday I possibly had skin cancer by my surgeon. Obviously since he is a surgeon he told me that I need to go to my PC, but he was quite upset and concerned after looking at it. After searching on the internet, I am now scared. I go to the PC Thursday to see what is up. Anyone have an experiece with skin cancer? And before anyone starts I know this is all my fault for being a lilly a$$ girl and getting burned too many times. I am scared more than I have ever been. :think
  17. I agree as well. The problem with ANY politician is that they represent THEIR interests, and not our own. They are all wealthy and no longer connected to the people. They make laws to help make their world better, hardly ever ours.
  18. AMEN! You said it perfectly!
  19. I agree that it is not my right to impose my morals on anyone else. I would NEVER abort a baby, but I do understand there are worse things... Parents that raise children that they literally hate and never wanted. That is where child abuse can begin. Mothers that have children after using drugs the entire pregnancy. And yes, there are so many people that would love to adopt a baby, but I actually DO NOT agree with that when there are SOOOOOO many kids that are older that never get adopted because they are just too old. It is sad. So while I think abortion is wrong for me, I also know it is the right choice in many cases.
  20. I really don't think the welfare system should be looked at as the biggest problem. And I AM SURE I will make no friends by saying this... It is our entire social system. What makes it OK for a man to make a baby with a woman, only to NEVER give her financial support or walk away in the Friend of the Court system and pay CLOSE to nothing? We should be ashamed of ourselves. Over 50% of people on welfare are single mothers, who DO NOT recieve child support. If people had more responibilty for taking care of their own we would NOT be in this situation! It is the idelogical system that we have that makes it ok for a man to walk away free and clear. (And some women as well, it is not just men.) Women make .60 to men per dollar doing the SAME EXACT job. That creates a problem right away. It is the way it has always been. African Americans in 1950 were 3 times more likely to be in poverty, and guess what? They are STILL 3 times more likely today. The system does not change as a whole, that is the real problem. We can not point our finger at one thing and believe "POOF" it is fixed. Our education systems are to blame as well. Students in poor areas don't have books, computers, clean schools. Things that are instrumental in education. Their parents do not make enough to pay taxes into the school system to change it. Why not? Lack of education...from where? The same school system. It is a vicious cycle of the system. It is hard to get out of cycle. Lack of resources=Lack of education=Lack of job opportunities=Lack of FUNDS!
  21. Actually it was much earlier. Native Americans were killed for their land. IMMEDIATELY once we started to settle this land. It was the founding fathers. Our founding fathers also did ALL own African slaves. Not one of the 55 delegates disagreed with slavery, if you ever read our constitution you will see how our founding fathers really felt. Native Americans were not only not allowed to vote, but were not considered people at all. African were considered 3/5 of a person, not even a WHOLE person. If they escaped they were to be treated as PROPERTY not people. This still extends today. We are in the war because war is good for the ELITE of the nation, not the general public. I am a wife of a veteran and I still totally disagree with this war. I could go on and on, this is my thing. I encourage anyone that questions where this country REALLY stands, check out the census material in regards to income/race. It is shocking.
  22. WOW! I had no idea I would be in the majority being a liberal democrat!!
