Hi everyone, Hope ya'll all had a Merry Christmas. Mine was great. Well I don't know how it happened:confused: but I seem to have :lost2.5lbs:pounds this week. I say I don't know how because I've eaten more than I should've plus I've been on Prednisone for the whole week for my GOUT(owwww). But hey maybe that was just another :thumbdown: to me from SANTA. I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth.Hope ya'll are doing ok with your eating. Hang in there.Thin will come.:drool::thumbup:

HI EVERYONE, HAD MY LAP-BAND DONE MARCH 16TH,2009. AS OF YESTERDAY(9 MONTHS) I AM DOWN A TOTAL OF 112 LBS. I AM SO GLAD I HAD THIS DONE. I'VE SLOWED DOWN ON THE WT LOSS CONSIDERABLY BUT I AM STILL LOSING. I GET DISCOURAGED BUT THEN I THINK "ARE YOU NUTS" . I AM IN SUCH BETTER SHAPE THAN I WAS. STARTED AT A WHOPPING 377LBS AT 5'3",WAS WIDER THAN I AM TALL . SO ALL OF YOU OUT THERE DON'T GIVE UP HOPE, YOU WILL BE SO HAPPY THAT YOU GOT IT DONE. WELL THAT'S ALL FOR NOW.

I EAT ABOUT ANYTHING I WANT BUT I JUST HAVE TO MODIFY IT. NOT MUCH STARCHY FOOD ANYMORE. JUST LOW FAT,LOW SUGAR STUFF AND KEEP CAL.TO AROUND 900-1200 A DAY. KEEPING A FOOD JOURNAL HELPS. WALK AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE AND ANY OTHER EXERCISE YOU CAN DO.STAY AWAY FROM FRIED,BREADED FOOD.GOOD LUCK

I REALLY DON'T KNOW WHAT I DID.I KNOW THAT I ATE 900-1000 CAL A DAY,BUT I DID NOT EXCERCISE DUE TO BAD KNEES.AND TO THIS DAY I'M STILL NOT EXERCISING OTHER THAN THE WALKING AROUND I DO AT HOME WHICH BEFORE WAS NON-EXISTENT.KEPT A FOOD JOURNAL AND COUNTED CALORIES.JUST BE PATIENT AND IT WILL PICK UP I'M SURE.GOOD LUCK

:rolleyes2:I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL. I WAS 55 YRS OLD AND 377 AT THE START OF MY JOURNEY AND 5'2.9 MONTHS LATER I AM DOWN TO 263.I NEVER HAD KIDS,WHETHER IT WAS DUE TO MY WT. I DON'T KNOW SO WE ADOPTED 3 KIDS.THAT WAS 23 YRS AGO.SO STICK TO THE PLAN AND BEFORE YOU KNOW IT YOU'LL BE A MAMA HOPEFULLY. GOOD LUCK.

I HEARD OR READ SOMEWHERE THAT EATING ALMONDS AS A SNACK COULD HELP IN WT. LOSS SO I THOUGHT WHAT COULD IT HURT TO TRY IT. :tt1: WELL I'VE BEEN EATING THEM FOR ABOUT A MONTH NOW. I GET UP AND HAVE A CUP OF COFFE,THEN ABOUT 1 HOUR LATER I'LL EAT ABOUT 1/2 SERVING(12) OF ALMONDS, THEN IN AN HOUR OR 2 I EAT A SMALL AMOUNT OF FOOD(USUALLY 2 PIECES OF LITE LUNCH MEAT AND 1 SLICE OF 2% CHEESE) ,THEN SOME MORE ALMONDS(12) THRU-OUT THE DAY THEN SUPPER(FAIRLY GOOD PORTIONS) AND FRUIT AT NITE WITH MORE ALMONDS(12-24). SINCE THE 29TH OF NOV. I'VE LOST 7 LBS SO I'M THINKING THE ALMONDS MIGHT BE HELPING. WELL ANYWAY JUST WANTED TO TELL YA'LL IN CASE ANYONE WANTED TO GIVE IT A TRY.

it went pretty fast until about the 6 month mark then i started slowing down and hitting plateaus. you just have to be patient and ride them out.right now i've started losing again.since the 14th of dec. i've lost almost 4 lbs.

I was starting to have to go into a 4x(yes i said 4X)from there i went into a 2x and then a large which is where i'm at now,and this took place over an 8 month period.so i skipped every other size. but each person is different and lose weight different as in different places that could affect sizes.but good luck on when ever you choose to start shopping. -

What was your surgery date and how much are you down since?

date of surgery march 16, 2009 day of surgery 360 today at dr.office 302 total of 58lbs. post op in 4 months march 3rd pre-op weight 377 total lost in all 75lbs.:thumbdown: in 4 months and 10 days. -
Hi, I'm from Lake City,near gainesville. i started my pre-surgery diet march 3rd and had my band done march 16th,2009. i lost 20 lbs on the pre-op:thumbup: and now i have lost a total of 72 lbs in almost 4 1/2 months. my age is 56:mad: so age doesn't really matter and also i do no exercise as i have real bad knees. hope to lose enough wt. so i can try walking in my neighborhood and lose even more.:huh2:
