  1. good evening ladies,

Wow Nicole, sounds like it was a horrible experience, glad Auds is doing better. I'm sure it was all heat related.

Sometimes family can be very insensitive, even though they think they are offering up good advice and words of wisdom. Perhaps it's because they can't talk that stuff to non family members.

You know Candra when I fall off the wagon I have a cup of green tea or something to kind of detox and get right back on program. It's probaly all in my mind but I feel like I have a clean slate so try it.

I know i'll be having some tonight. I went out with my girlfriends today for lunch and I ordered the tostada salad and really didn't eat much but I made up for it in chips...way off program. I really have a hard time hanging out with my friends. I hate feeling like I can't participate, I mean I can but I just don't know when to stop.

  2. Riley you have to crate some stuff. Im not vegetation but I know how to make up a dish with my favorite on program foods. lentil or tofu salad? put them in little 1/2 cup containers so it's alway grab and go. You can be hanging out with them by the campfire with your little container and a cocktail with your no carb mix and no one will no the difference.

so many people going camping...we should really get a trip going. Have fun and don't worry about the others or being embarrassed. and if you do PB blame it on the heat!

  3. Good evening ladies- so Reggies question really made me think (why get the band?) Well I never considered it until my primary said I should look into it because she thought surgery would prevent me from having another “event” and alleviate some of my health issues. I’ve already had a heart attack. She and I have been going around and around for a while, her trying to get me to loose some weight. I know I’m on the lower side of the weight scale but why wait til I hit 250? I’ve have not lost any weight since having my twins 20 years ago. I figure something’s got to give!

Top 5 reasons Jes is getting the band

5 . make better food choices

    4. not having to take 9 pills a day to stay alive

    3. shopping in the regular section…what the hell the “Petites”

    2. becoming more active (better sex), need I say more?

    1. leading a healthy happy life

From what I see here the struggles are no different no matter what size you are.

Hope you all had a nice Saturday, gosh the weekends almost over ugh!

  4. it's funny I have dr. park and after talking about my history she asked if I had an idea of what I wanted and i said lapband. She said based on everything she saw she would recommend the lapband too. So we barley talked about RNY. It could have something to do with my size and all of my health issues. I don't know.

  5. ok one more post then I need to get back to work.

So this morning my scale said 187 yeea. I was all set to go weigh in at kaiser this morning but I didn't. I figured by the time I make the scale adjustments I'd be over argh! I need courage, I'm scared of not being there. I keep telling myself WTF if I'm over 190 then just go back on Monday LOL.

  6. Hi-ya,

you all are on a roll today. Riley thanks for your posts!! There are so many mis conceptions out there about "the surgery" I'm glad to hear that you can have your occasional indulges. Originally I was worried that all those things would be gone for me. I mean I like wine....don't need sweets but a glass of wine now and again is something I enjoy.

  7. Hmmm LOL

I guess everyone has their opinions based on their experience. I have a friend getting RNY from Fisher and we debate it all the time, but I've resolved with the fact that she's happy with her decision and I am/gonna be happy with mine.

Plus even if I only loose 50 lbs total I'll be happy with changing my eating habits and getting healthy. and I need that constant accountability so I stay on track.

  8. evening ladies, just wanted to comment on the Dr talk. I have Dr Park even though I'm not banded yet I really like her. I don't know, I find it assuring when my Dr is a woman. I work at a medical school evaluating students. Bedside manner is key, the minute she walked in the door I started filling out the checklist in my mind and she aced it. I know Baggs is the star of this forum but I don't think sticking with Park will be a bad choice at all.

  9. ok I have to tell what I had for dinner. Don't know if you all know but I have a garden, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, all kinds of herbs, mint etc. anyway I have a bush of sun gold tomatoes so I picked about a cups worth and mixed in some mozzarella cheese and sweet basil from my garden. It was oh so good yummy yummy yummy.

I told you I was feeling good. When I came home today hubby said "what did you do?" I'm like huh. He says you look like you lost 15 or 20 lbs...whoo hoo it was on and crackin:thumbup:
