Niclole your baby is adorable....me? mine are all grown and gone. That's why I'm so excited about the band...finally getting around to doing ME. So I walked around Lake Merritt twice today (aprox 6.5 miles) in about 1 1/2 hrs. my legs are sore so my pedicure came right on time. Then off to lunch with my daughter (tostada salad no chips) Hope everyone has a safe 4th...lot's o' water.

Tomorrow we have a family bbq so I'm bringing chinken and salad. Hopefully I'll be good. Donna, yes I'm looking forward to the long weekend, so much stress at work. Hope you all have one too? Nicole it's friday...sending good thoughts your way. till later...

Morning all, I'm working from home today so I have more time to be online...LOL Sounds like we all have our exercise down or know what we need to do as in my case. I still struggle when it's time to get up and hit the elliptical. Oh I forgot to mention that last night at rich group meeting there was a girl there getting the sleeve. So KP is now offering the sleeve as well. think healthy thoughts today!

Hey ladies, wow 4 pages but I'm up to date! ok so here's my day. This morning I was at goal according to my scale. anyway, I did 50 min on my elliptical, almost late for work. b-atkins shake L-1/2 cup of chicken salad drank water all the way until 2pm. OMG, the traffic leaving SF was horrid today so I didn't have time to go home before the group meeting. I weighed in at 191.4 (1.4+) of course Bev wrote down 192 lbs. but oh well. She said I'm sure if you weighed in this morning you would be at goal. So I'm thinking I'll go next week just for a weigh in once I'm down a few more pounds to make sure. Candra I missed you this evening, maybe next time. I'm unable to join you all for lunch during the week, so maybe if you all ever pick a weekend I'm there.

ok ladies I have a question.... This morning I was 1 lb away from surgery goal (naked)...tonight I'm 1.4 away fully clothed and 2 meals plus all my Water. I'm going to the richmond group meeting tomorrow and they weigh you if you want. What do I do about water tomorrow? I'm sure I will eat the very min and work out extra in then morn. all this planing may not work since the KP scale adds at least 2 lbs. but just in case:smile:

hey there everyone, Seems like everyone is behaving....I had a long day my hubby had a biopsy today so I was at kaiser most of the day. He's a big baby and wouldn't let them do it without putting him out so he turned a 10 min office visit in to a whole days ordeal. Anyway, I did ok with eating. B/L-1/2 cup egg salad D-6oz pork tenderloin & salad 20 min ago-1/2 cup chicken salad (why?) I need to figure out how to break this compulsive eating. Before I know it, I've already inhaled it. Candra I downloaded the C25k podcast I might try it and see how my ankles do.

on the hubby note...mine said he was hungry so I got my lazy butt up and went into the hot a$$ kitchen and cooked, fish, french fries and a salad for me and he is still on the couch sleep! something is in the air, maybe the heat is messing with their thinking process.

So the Richmond group is good, I’ve been 2 times. There are about twice as many people as yesterday. I think the 1st Wed is when everybody shows up. They have the pre op in one room and post op next door. Bev lead the last class I can’t remember who did it before. Anyway they talk about getting to surgery goal and everyone’s struggles. Some people offer up menu ideas blah blah… About halfway through the post op people come in mostly RNY but some banders. They go around the room telling their story, oh and they have before and after photos. Lots of them had their surgery years ago so that’s encouraging… When that’s over you mingle. I met this one girl (well my age) that hated her band I guess her Dr made her get it instead of RNY, which she wanted b/c she had some health issue (can’t remember what) plus she hadn’t lost much. Other than that everyone was real positive. I mostly approached the recently banded folks. I mean some were showing their ports and scars so I could get a good idea. ☺ Anyway it’s cool just a little different. So if anyone’s ever down in this area on a Wed evening it’s worth checking out.

Candra I looked in my binder and yes the group meets 6-7:30 1st & 3rd Wed. room C 1-3 on the 3rd floor. Tamra hopefully you can make it sometimes, though the group is a little different than the Sac group it's good to go and hear about others journeys. if anyone else is in the area please join us. The bridge walk was great! Now I don't feel like doing anything but I have housework ugh...

and one more thing, thanks to all of you lovely ladies for your support and posting your journeys on this site. I've never even owned up to my dissatisfaction with my weight before, let alone talk about it online. I'd just say "I love food so what" Now I'm pumped and can't wait to start enjoying being a healthy happy person!

hey everyone it was good to finally see you all today. I started hesitating because of the drive but i'm glad I came anyway. Tina I saw you, Donna was great pointing out everyone for me. Chandra, I know, I love my car, it was the 1st thing I did when my kids all got their own. Just can't wait til I don't have so much trouble climbing in and out of it:wink2: We have to get together, I love walking the bridge and it's right in between us. It's so hot out, the good thing is I've been able to double my water LOL.

Hi Everyone, Just getting back from Vegas attending a 4-day conference for work. Even though I got up every morning to go to the gym I didn’t do so well with the diet. They fed us B-L-D…way too much food, not to mention the cocktails. So tomorrow is another day, back at it. WOW I just read through the last 5 pages of posts. So in a nutshell… -the 5 day pouch test was harder than expected- I can’t imagine being successful either.:bored: -we got a newbie to our group-welcome Tamera! These ladies are a wealth of information. When you email you PCP make sure to tell her that since you talked to her you’ve done a lot of research and now you are ready to be referred to orientation as well.:smile2: -Chrisitine’s been busy having a good time. You look absolutely gorgeous, that before and after picture tells it all. -Nicole’s new job prospect- great news; think positive thoughts, everything will fall into place. - the group fill sounds fun, I can’t wait til I’m able to join you. There is a Pete’s coffee and a jamba juice just on the other side of the fwy, can’t miss it, it’s in a new strip mall.:tongue2: -I’m planning on joining you all at the sac group meeting. I can’t wait to meet you all, and I’m bringing a camera. Update on work- they’ve decided to give everyone an 8% pay cut. I guess this means the weight will come off easier since I’ll probably starve to death.:scared2: Take care, Jes
  16. Are you saying that the psyllium husk is keeping you from loosing weight? I've been taking about a tlbsp each day.

I won't be able to make it. I work in S.F. but I'm hoping once I'm banded and off for that month I'll be able to make the trip up there. I'm having my ups & downs...lot's of stress at work. I'm starting to think "furloughs" is a swear word. I work for UC so we are at the mercy of the state Have fun...looking forward to meeting you all soon.
  18. I haven't been banded yet; been approved, gone through the surgeon & psych visit already. I'm about 5ft- 0 195lbs with about 3 co-morbids. My Dr requires you to loose 10% of your weight before you can proceed. I guess to get used to the change in eating habits. Sooooo after I loose another 6 or so lbs I can get a date. I get the same reaction when I go to the support group meetings. I'm the smallest in the room and everyones cutting their eyes in my direction. But I look around and say I don't want to wait till I get the size of some of them to do something about it. Glad to know there are others in my situation, and I'm looking forward to getting on with it.

Hello everyone, It sounds like everyone is doing well with their weight loss. The fills seem to do the trick to curb some of the desires & giving you all a boost. Congrats Chandra for being on your way! Heather don't fear things will all work out for the best. Your weight loss so far is awesome and those additional pounds will come off in no time. I understand frustration. I went to the support meeting last night at KP Richmond and of course I weighed 3 lbs more than I did on my own scale meaning I still have at least 6 lbs before I get a date. The meeting was ok; I was hoping to meet other lapbanders but instead they were all RNYers. So it looks like I'll have to keep looking to you all for support. The weekend is supposed to be decent so I'm planning to get out and get my exercise on:thumbup: Take care,

    huge problem!HELP

OMG Marmar...I had a panic attack in the dr's office when they were just trying the machine on me. I started crying and the poor tech had to go get the Dr. They said it had never happened to them before...I was so embarrassed. Well anyway they sent me home with 3 different masks because they said I stopped breathing 20 times and I needed to wear it. I stared out sitting up with it on and eased my self into lying down. I'm still not able to keep the thing on all night yet but I must admit I'm getting better and can now keep it on for a few hours. So just keep trying even if you take it off soon after you put it on. I do notice the longer I keep it on the better I feel in the morning. Good luck!
  21. You look great congrats. New body = new attitude.

Hi everyone, You all have been busy again  Riley - I checked amazon for the pedometer but there were about 3 pages of them. Which one is the one you have? I've got these darn plantar warts or corns on the bottom of my feet and have trouble walking so if anyone has a good cure let me know. I think my little feet just can't take all the weight they have to carry  I've been on my elliptical but now that the weather is nicer I'd love to get out. Sounds like the group fill is the hot ticket; hopefully I'll get my date by then. Thanks for the info on the sig, I wasn't able to figure out the ticker though. nite all

Hi Candra, The richmond support group meets on the 1st Wednesday 6-7:30p. We break into 2 groups pre & post op. and then meet at the end as one large group. I only attended once but I liked it. I was able to meet other ladies with a similar situation as mine and ask questions about their progress. Have a nice afternoon all. I'm surfing the net to try and get my mind off the fact that I'm still hungry after lunch. Jes PS how do I add that signature you all have? I may as well put it all out there

Hi Ladies- Just wanted to chime in. So you can add 1 more to the list of newbies, me. I've been through all the appointments just waiting for my surgery goal weight. I think these last few pound are tough for me because of my size. Not making excuses but I'm 198lbs, 5-0ft, and almost every comorbidity there is...I've been trying to increase my water and done well the last couple days. Just seems like it's not happening fast enough for me. I'm going to the Richmond group meeting next wednesday and plan to weigh myself then, hopefully good news. So anyways, Chandra, Heather, Maria we are all in this together. Tina, that new picture is hot! Jes
  25. I'm glad I found this thread. I'm about 80 lbs overweight. I don't have my surgery date yet as I need to loose about 8 more lbs before they will give me a date. It's the hardest 8 lbs ever and i can't figure out why. I guess these lbs just don't want to leave me. Ugh...
