Congrats Exoticheart I am having mine surgery on June 22nd at Kaiser SSF. Which Kaiser are you having your surgrery?

Dargar or anyone else thats sleeved Did any of you have problems swallowing the pill/vitamins after surgery? I was thinking if I should do chewable for everything or am I being overly paranoid.

Hey Dargar, Are you or planning on keeping a journel? What kind of protein shakes are you drinking? I have the powder but I think I may buy the premix one too. My surgery is in 9 days and I am starting to freak out. I find myself wanting to stress eat. My biggest down fall are sweets I wish I could just blink and be past the 1st 3 days of surgery.

Hello Dargar27, I am glad to see you are home and doing well..... Did they give you a pill heart burn? A friend of mine who had the VSG at Richmond Kaiser said they gave her medication for acid/heart burn that she takes every day. Get your rest and do what you can without over doing it. Hope to hear from you soon.

I also thought I would get at least 4-6 weeks off. Dr Alami told me he would only give me 3 weeks. I am praying I up and back to normal by then because my job is not too keen on extended cases. I would rather him give me the 6 weeks and if I am feeling better sooner I can go back to work. But he seems like a stickler when it comes to that. We will see...... Heather, when is your pre-op class? I have my on Tues the 7th.

Hi Lee, I have been watching your progress for over 2009.....I recognize you from the lap band talk. I have been on this journey since April 2009. I was strongly considering the band because back when I first started Kaiser wasnt offering the sleeve to everyone. But through my struggles since 2009 I have seen the hard time people were having with band. Reading the posting on lap band talk and also talking to people who had this procedure changed my mind. THANK GOD FOR MY STRUGGLES because I would have been banded by now. Lee, you are such a inspiration. Your hours of dedication working out has paid off and you are sooooooooooooooo close to goal that you can taste it. Stay encouraged and when I am sleeved I hope to be just like u.

I use to have a hard time finding he thread too but now I just go the search bar and type in Kaiser Richmond. Then I scroll threw the couple of pages until I find Kaiser Richmond/Kaiser South San Francisco Sleeve Brothers and Sisters!

Hi Darlene, I am so happy for you!!! I have been on this journey for 2yrs and I am right behind you. My date is on June 22nd at SSF with Dr Alami . I am in the process of getting my house in order for my surgery. I am rearranging my closet by size so I wont miss out on wearing any of my smaller clothes . Keep us posted with your progress. Hi Singand_dance, I had my appt with Dr Alami today. You will like him. He is a very funny guy. Made me feel comfortable and hes very thorough. I'm glad I went with him as my surgeon. My surgery date is June 22nd. It could have been sooner but I wanted to wait until after my trip. I want to be at home and close to Kaiser as I am getting to know sleeve and how it works. <br /><br /><br />

Hello All Quick update..... I was suppose to meet with Dr Alami but had to reschedule because I caught a bad case of the flu. My appt with Dr Alami is now scheduled for next Friday the 5th. I am hoping and praying I get a date. Karen I pray for a speeding recovery and hopely soon I will be joining u.
