My story is probably like anyone Else's. I was always a chubby kids and I had parent's that were over weight. At 5'5" I was 180 when I graduated high school. After I had my first child at 20 I was about 220 lbs, always fluctuating trying to loose weight. After I had my second child at 26 I was 250lbs. At 28 I was 280lbs and determined I would loose the weight and I did really well I love 80lbs with diet and exercise. But then it came time to move; my husband being in the Air Force got orders to move from Germany to Florida. So life was uprooted and not normal for a long time trying to find a place to live and making a home over the next three years I gain back 50lbs, then once again it was time to move again this time to New Mexico. that was a huge adjustment, my weight went up and down at one point I was back up to 280lbs, and once again I took on the challenge to loose the weight, and I was doing pretty good before it was time to move again. This time the move was permanent my husband retired from the Air Force, so we now live in Melbourne FL. It was a huge adjustment to civilian life, and my weight fluctuated the same 30lbs. In the past 12 months I had become thoroughly discussed with myself I had reach my all time high of 300lbs. But what trigger my journey was the fact that my mom was fighting breast cancer, I decided that I was not going to end up like her unhealthy and unable to do the things I want to do. There are the usually heredity illnesses, diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol, osteoarthritis she's had both hips replaced. I want to ward off any potential illness as long as possible, so I decided that in order to do that I would need to loose the weight and not just a Little but 150lbs. and the only way I would be able to reach this goal was to have the lap band done. So I began the process going to the seminar, making the first doctors appointment and getting my insurance company to approve it. But the hardest part in all of this was convincing my husband that this was the right thing for me. After several long conversations to get him to see why I needed to do this, he is very supportive. When we go out he makes sure that there will be something on the menu I can order, he doesn't offer me the things I am not suppose to have, and he really likes the results so far, 42 lbs and counting. This has been the best experience and decision I have ever made. My life no longer revolves around food, and the whole family is eating healthier. So life is good and I have no regrets the future looks bright and I look forward to being a healthier person, wife, and mother.
