Congratulations on your surgery! I also had surgery on april 29th. I'm right there with you. At that time all I felt was that bloated feeling. I can't really feel my port but its still sore around the incision area. That bloated feeling is now starting to clam down. It's kinda hard to lay on the side where my incision is and difficult at times to sleep. While I'm up walking it's not so bad. Feel free to ask me any questions since we got banded together on the same day!

How long did it take for you to be able to lay on your stomach?

4/29 I had my surgery. Instead of the standard 4 incisions I only have 1 incision. I wanted to know how long did it take in order to sleep on your stomach. It's getting uncomfortable only sleeping on my back. If anyone can give me any ideas or tips that can make it a little easier to sleep would be great. Thanks! -

Surfing the web and seeing some you tube videos. I wondered exactly how long does the actual surgery take? Has anyone had any horrible complications, which took a little longer then normal? My surgery date is wednesday the 29th and all these last minute questions keep coming up. Sooo nervous and excited at the same time. Thanks guys!!

What kind of diet did you have to be on before you got banded? My doctor has me on a liquid diet for 4 weeks! Today makes the 22nd day. I'm scheduled to get banded on the 29th of april. I have 1 week exactly to go. I'm just curious what requirements other doctors have given to patients. Thanks alot guys!!!

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm getting banded on the 29th! I've been on a liquid diet going on 4 weeks now! I'm sooo ready to eat something. Even though the surgery is coming I won't be able to eat solid foods until 7 weeks out! June first is my 1st fill. I wish you luck and that all goes well!

hi, my name is missy and i am a little behind you i am set for surgery july1. i am read your first entry and am looking for people to talk to . i am very nervous. are you? as far as gas pains go when i had my gallbladder out which is also done lapriscopically im not gonna lie yes there was a lot of gas pains. what helped me was taking dulcolax a stool softener because the pain medication makes your bowels not work very quickly but it wont help all of it the trapped air should work it way out in a day or two. i am also looking for pre surgery advice if you have any i would be glad to hear it. hope to hear from you soon and good luck.

So.... im scheduled for my lap-band surgery on april 29th. Today I had my pre op visit. Xrays, barium swallow, ekg, and blood work. It's all soo real now! I was told that there will be a tube down my throat to help me breath. Has anyone experienced any problems with the gas that is pumped inside when you wake up?
