Good luck to you. I was banded July 2 and I have lost 35# (possibly more as I do not weigh myself regularly, I have another fill in October so I am waiting until my appointment to weigh in. I made a pact with myself when I had this surgery I was not going to obcess over the scale, that I would follow the rules and the weight would come off and it has so far) Here is a list of a typical day for me:
Breakfast: Myoplex protein shake 110 cal and 17 g of protein and coffee about an hour later. I have never been a fan of eating when I get up so this works well for me and allows me to get in the much needed protein
Lunch: Mostly a protein shake again, or a few (typically 2) pieces of deli turkey wrapped in provolone cheese or some scrambled eggs (1 egg)
Dinner: Fresh veggies of some sort and a few bites of protein (mostly fish) about a cup of veggies and 3-4 bites of protein/Sometimes just veggies
I have found I really almost never need a snack. If I do want something I will have a piece of cheese or some nuts. So far I have had no complications with anything I eat. But, I did not have a soda or fast food habit. I have friends who did have the habits and they are not having much success. Kick as many bad habits as you can before surgery, you will be more successful. I have had my first fill and I did notice a difference in my restriction. I also walk for an hour everyday and have started lifting weights every other day. Good luck to you! The band is not a magic wand but a tool to help us get to where we want to be with our weight, just remember that and you will succeed.
