Well it took several months to get all my dr's. appt. for med clearence and all the evaluations taken care of. I had made the decission not to tell most of my co-workers:kiss because they can be such a bunch of bitches at times. Some of them gave one of my co-workers such a hard time because they felt like she wasn't losing like she should:omg: and who died and made them the experts. Alot of them could loss some weight themselfs. Of course I did have to tell my boss who was very supportive of this since she happens to be a by-pass gal herself and respected my decission of not telling everyone. I was really hoping to get this taken care of in July but it took until Sept until all the paper work was completed. Including dealing with the hospital declining me. But I fought back and WON:clap2: So I was all set for Sept 9th, 2005 when what happens I get a call the week before from the Drs. office asking if I would like to be done a week earlier. :faint: AH NO, I already have my whole life in order here with taking time off of work. I thought how unfair that they think people can just up an change because he wants to go take a class. I asked if this class would help in anyway to do a better job on my lap band and they said no, so I said SORRY can't change

After coming back from a trip to Lake Taho for spring break and seeing how "FAT" I looked in all the pictures. I new I need to take a BIG step in doing something about this. Two of my co-workers had the bad done, 1 in Feb and the other in April. After seeing all the great results they have had in such a short time. I felt this was something I should look into. After muling this over and over I told my husband David that this was something I wanted to do. He at first was shocked since I always felt it was the lazy way out, but understood that I had changed my mine and gave me all the support I needed to get thur this. Went to a Gastric Support Group given at the hospital that I worked at. Got on line a read up on the lap band and felt it was the best choice for me. Made the appt. with Dr. Bass and also felt it was the best choice for my body time.

I may have gall baldder troubles.
SunshineGirl2 replied to coyotegirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had that same problem 2 weeks ago while on vac. after a 5 hour drive back home then a trip to the ER for 14 hours before getting a bed. The gall bladder is gone and I'm on the road to recovery (slowly). Good luck to you and hope you get it out soon. -
Am I crazy?? Already Mourning Food!
SunshineGirl2 replied to thefunnyfatgirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I never thought I would say this either but you are correct. I had to have a unfill 2 weeks ago due to gall bladder surg. During that week before getting filled again, I thought I would have sm amounts of all the food I couldn't have before (anything with bread) and I found 9 out of 10 times I didn't enjoy having it.:clap2: -
Do You Still Have Your Gall Bladder?
SunshineGirl2 replied to mslynn's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Just had mine taken out 2 weeks ago-11 months post surg. Still sore but each day it gets better. The stone was HUGE so they couldn't remove it lap.... Never had any problems that I new of until the fri before surg. then it was alot of upper gastric discomfort x2 days. -
Do you need to go on liquids the day of fill?
SunshineGirl2 replied to Leona06's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You see each Dr. is different. Give them a call, because it's better to be safe than sorry. I only need to be on clears the 1st 24 hours, then mushies for 24hours, then back to norm. Good luck!!! -
I feel your pain regarding the gall bladder that is. I had mine also removed last week (the old fashion way) since the stone was as big as my gall bladder. Still don't feel like my old self yet but with time I know I will. Good luck and happy recovery

Are you doing Weight Watchers?
SunshineGirl2 replied to LapBandFan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Last Feb my DH wanted to join WW so I went with him and joined myself. I had come to a stall with the weight loss and thought what did I have to loose but lbs....:Banane27: I have to say I really enjoy our speaker she is awsome, but I'm not really doing anything different than before. Susan is very correct in the way they feel about WLS. I have not told anyone and will not. I really have to bite my tongue when it is brought up and the bashing they give it. DH said it was because there are jealous. When I get to my goal I will come clean and let them see the 2 can work together Happily every after. -
How much time off of work and other restrictions
SunshineGirl2 replied to samos's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm a sec in a hospital-4-12 hour shifts but I'm up and down alot with alot of walking. I took 3 weeks and was in alot of discomfort from the up and down. I should have come back maybe 8 hours that 1st week back and it would have been better for me. -
That's great news. Hope your 2nd year will be less stressful for you.

September 2005 Bandsters: What's new?!
SunshineGirl2 replied to TexasRose's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was banded on 9/9 and have lost 56lbs. I've had to have 2 unfills since I started last sept. Once in Dec because of some stucked food and just last week when I went in for a emerg gall bladder surg. Which has made me a little sad because I was right where I wanted to be for the past few months. But I will pick myself up and just start over again. I've gone from a size 24-26 down to a 18. It has been so great getting rid of all my old and baggy clothes. I've also had people tell me that I look 10 years younger also which has been really great. Having the lap band done has been one of the best decision that I've every made. I only have 13 lbs to be under 200 and I'm really hopping to reach that goal by my bandaveresary -
I've never been told I couldn't and I've been to WDW 3 times since mine was put in this past Sept and just came back from Busch Gardens 2 weeks ago.

Would you do it again?
SunshineGirl2 replied to Koko's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
In a NY minute and sooner if I could. It was one of the best things I ever did for not only myself but my family. I now stand a much better chance of living longer than if I continue on the way I was. -
it was my GallBladder:hurt and it was HUGE:eek: I spent about 14 hours in the ER and then was sch. for a 3pm surg. that got bumped a couple of times. But its all over with now and I'm on the way to recovery......1 sm step at a time. But of course I had to have a total unfil just when I had gotten to my sweet spot a couple of months ago. Please keep me in your thought a prayers that I will be back on the road to a speedy recovery and don't have a relapse and gain any weight back. TIA

Isn't that a great feeling. I did it a couple of months ago and I was jumping up and down to see the change is sizes kept going down and down. I can't remember how many years its been since I've was in a size 18 and looking forward to seeing it drop to even a 16 in the next month or so.

That is awsome news. I was banded last sept 7th and can't beleive how this past year has gone by and how many changes in my life since then----all for the better for sure.

That's the way I felt. Much better in the long run if I had to have a choice of course. -
