I am proud to say that I was branded, errr I mean banded by this wonderful doctor. He's kind, compassionate and patient. And not bad on the eyes either ladies! LOL Anyway the office and staff have been great, so far I don't have any complaints. This is a great idea and thanks to the powers that be for this forum.

I know our pain medication choices are limited; I was given liquid Tylenol after surgery. It does help with minor headaches, but right now, I'm suffering from excrutiating toothache pain. What do you guys do for pain from such things as sinus headaches? back pain? toothaches?... Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!...

Ok...I understand that hair loss is part of the process but...come on now! Can I lose it all? It's all over the place. I'm almost afraid to comb/brush my hair! Don't get me wrong... I am totally loving losing the pounds but do I wanna be thin and bald too? No offense to those who have lost their hair for other reasons. It's not that I am vain..just a little scared. Feel like a boob.

Cod liver oil pills...are they small? Because we really can't take pills. My doctor told me to start Omega 3 but said I should pierce them. Is that what you do with the cod liver oil pills?

Just banded on 4/13/09. My spouse and I enjoy "position" where I am on my belly. Will that have to change? Can anything come loose?

If you are early in your LapBand journey....

Be proud to walk into my husband's office during working hours to pick him up for lunch...and NOT wait in the car because I don't want to embarass him. He could care less, but I do. One of his co-workers is getting married in September and I will certainly make that a goal marker too. -

Having my belly be smaller than my butt! -
Why would first BF contact me after so many years?
dubbee replied to betrthnever's topic in The Gals' Room
Sounds like what happened in high school was pretty bad and you never had closure. Maybe that's why you are hanging on...tell him NOW what you would have told him THEN if you'd had the courage. Hopefully that will help you heal and move past this. The fact that you've shared with your understanding husband says this is about you, not that joker. Good luck! -
My neck. I had one as a child but it began disappearing while I was pregnant.

What did you do with your clothes once too big?
dubbee replied to LindaD's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
OMG! What a great thread. I came here tonight specifically for this same reason. MY pile for "too big for me now" clothes keeps growing. Part of me is afraid to get rid of them. Another part of me says "don't look back, girl!" I'll probably take them to a homeless shelter. Oh my...poor us....what a problem to have...huh?..lol -
Big Momma-thanks. Cuz I am 5 1/2 weeks post op and have noticed in the last few days that type of pain when I rise up after laying down on my left side. You have given me SUCH a sense of relief!

Looking forward to WANTING to wear fashionable clothes..no more elastic waste pants and big tops to cover my belly and butt. Looking forward to having even MORE energy than I have already noticed in myself! Some days I just can't stop myself, my family is still trying to figure it out. LOL -
Help please! Somebody remind me why in the hell I did this. If I am going to survive the frickin liquid stage. If one more member of my family says "I'm sorry" every time they eat something... Good grief don't I sound like a little spoiled baby?!?!

Sharing non-scale victories - 5 months out..

Let's see.... In the past my boobs would be so heavy that I would kinda pull up my bra straps to separate them from my belly. Well they still are heavy enough to put a little pressure on my port. The other day I lifted and...well...they fell out the bottom! I was at work and thank goodness no one was nearby. I need smaller bras! Woohoo!!! I play baseball with my grandsons' baseball team. I ride my 3yr old new bike everyday. My clothes are seriously drooping. I am learning that food is for the nourishment of my body. -
sharp needle pains normal?
dubbee replied to nf1074's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had that too. Be careful about doing things that use your stomach muscles including turning over in bed and sitting up. Those stitches uses to attach the port to your muscles are still healing. Hand in there and CONGRATS! -

My freaking clothes are droopy....and I love it!! -
My surgeon told me I was mourning my best friend...food. At first I wanted to knock the mess out of him. But after I gave it some honest thought, I truly had to agree somewhat. I'd been in denial I guess about my eating habits. Didnt realize the time sneak-eating consumes and the money. I actually have money laying around waiting to be spent! I know some of what you are feeling. But be patient as the results reveal themselves to you. Do your best to find things to keep you busy. Like exercise...soon you'll be too busy working out to feel the things you are feeling.

I thought I was reading the post I wrote few weeks ago! While I was in the bed being transferred onto the operating table I was having second thoughts. I was scared. I was thinking I can still say "nevermind, I'll go home and lose this weight the old fashioned way". Stick with it and please know that it will be worth all this fear you are feeling. When your energy level begins to increase, when your clothes begin to loosen and then start literally falling and drooping when you begin to realize and deal with why you eat the way you do, these funky fears will truly seem funny then. Being a self-pay should be motivation in itself to listen to your doctors and follow his instructions to success. I've read posts here where patients are eating whatever they want and I think "come on!" There are times when I am really hungry and could easily sneak something I am not supposed to have. But I am learning about myself that I have more discipline and restraint than I EVER thought. I LIKE what losing this weight feels like. I LIKE what droopy clothes feel like. I like hearing family members say "your arms are getting smaller" "your belly is really coming down" "your butt is getting rounder". I LIKE getting to the top of the stairs and NOT being out of breath or my knees hurting. I had a ball the other day out on the baseball diamond with my grandsons actually playing baseball. I LOVE being enveloped in my husband's arms and his hands can reach each other. Do it...you ...can...do...it!!!
