HELP Wedding two weeks after surgery

My suggestion about a girdle would be to get one that isn't very tight, because while that would be ok for awhile, if you have to wear it very long, you'll be dying to get out of it. Get some Liquid Tylenol (extra strength adult dose) in case you do get uncomfortable.

    February 2007 bandsters!

Oh, good idea.... *getting box of triscuits out of trash can* not really dumpster diving, my trash can was otherwise empty....LOL! So glad that's over. :faint:

    February 2007 bandsters!

Ok, after 15 minutes of sliming, and spitting into a cup at my desk (started right after my last post) it finally passed. Thank God that's over. And I think I'll go get some creamy soup for lunch, and some skim milk to thin it down.... Whew!

    Can't Live Without It...

Thanks, Carlene! Wow, who'da thunk some of those even made the list....Sun Ultra???? I know it's not high on the list, but there are so many brands, it's sort of impressive to even be ON it.

    Can't Live Without It...

Carlene, I'd like to see that list. I've been looking and looking at vacuums and just cannot decide which one would be best for me....I was looking pretty hard at the Dyson's, too, but maybe after reading that, I'll look at something else....

    Diabetes after weight loss??

Stress and illness can cause high blood sugar as well. It's not always caused by what you eat. There are many factors that affect your blood sugar. If you were at the doctor's at 12:30 AM, then it might be safe to say that there was some issue that had you there at that time of the night, and you might have been under some undue stress?? Hang in there, diabetes is controllable, with a little effort and vigilance.
  8. Call your doctor or pharmacist to make sure that the meds you are on are crushable. Some meds are time release, and when you crush them, you get a full 24 hours worth of medicine all at once. That can be dangerous. You can call your prescribing doctor, the pharmacy where you get your prescriptions filled, or your surgeon. They should all be capable of answering your question. And they may have a solution for you to try.... Good luck! Hope your recovery goes well, and WELCOME to bandland!

    May Day

That would be true, but all my Mayday baskets were delivered to the older (or rather, elderly) people in the neighborhood, not other kids...

HELP Wedding two weeks after surgery

You should be ok, I think. I'm sure that you'd really rather not, but since the bride is so insistent... Ask for help in getting your family ready, your DH should be able to help with this, even if he IS a man....(LOL) and he should be able to dress himself. Don't be a martyr when the day comes. Do what you can, and when you can't, rest. A little pre-planning will go a long way. You can do it! Good luck with your surgery! You're in my prayers for a super speedy recovery!!
  12. Wow, not only are you no longer overweight, you're downright skinny! You're such an inspiration! :clap2:

    May Day

Yep, I remember doing that, and I remember watching from the bushes to see people's reactions.... aaaaahhhhhhh, the memories..... My niece and nephew still do it, so it's not totally lost....

    Morrell Mushrooms

I think I'd sautee them in a little olive oil or real butter, with some aromatic spices, and have them as a side dish....MMMMM!
  17. You know what you're comfortable in, go with that. Even if you don't have a necklace to go with it, go with understated and classy. Diamond stud earrings will do very nicely, in my opinion. A simple gold box chain with a simple gold pendant (cz works) or a simple gold herringbone chain....You get the idea...

    Constipation

For me, ever since I was LITTLE (being potty trained, I believe) my mom always gave me a little glass of prune juice every day or every other day depending on the needs of the day.... I still like it and still use it when I'm having problems "going". BUT, most lately, I've decided that it's just too much sugar, and being diabetic, it's not the best choice for me. Therefore, I've just been finding ways to add in more fiber to my diet, using benefiber, and sometimes a chewable fiber, I haven't had too many problems "going" since being banded. Thank goodness!

    Port feeling

I don't feel anything on the inside, but if I feel around the area where it is, I can feel it from the outside. The only time I feel anything inside is when I'm laying on my back and my cat decides to step right on it. Still a bit uncomfortable when she does that. Otherwise, nothing, unless I'm feeling for it.

    February 2007 bandsters!

OH! Tracy! I didn't realize that your surgery date has already come!!! I'm so happy for you!!!! Check in with us often to let us know how you're doing, we miss you over here in the February 07 bandster's thread! WELCOME to bandland!!! ((((((((((((huge hugs))))))))))))))
  21. I noticed that you mentioned going to sleep with a tube in your throat, and that you wouldn't be able to control that.... You'll go to sleep before you get the tube down your throat, and it will already be gone when you wake up. You might have a sore or scratchy throat for a while after surgery, but it's not too bad. Chloraseptic makes a dissolvable thin strip for sore throats now, and that's what I used for a day or so after surgery. You'll do fine! It's totally normal to be nervous. I was a complete basket case the day prior to surgery. I wondered the entire drive on the morning of my surgery (hour and a half) if I was really going to do this, and if it was the right thing to do..... and now I'm SO glad I did it!!
  22. If you were supposed to be on a liquid diet, then stay away from the cottage cheese, cream of wheat and that type of thing until you are given the go ahead to move on to mushies. You want to make sure that you are reasonably healed before you advance to the next stage of your post-op diet. PLEASE be careful. You'll feel better in a few days. You might be able to go back to work on Wednesday, just take it one day at a time, and let your body heal, and recover!
  23. This whole idea, that forum, and this post are all very disturbing.

    February 2007 bandsters!

You're my band twin! We were banded on the same day, I've also had a 1cc fill, and I've lost 40 lbs as well..... So weird! But good to know that we're on the same track!:clap2:
  25. Is there any redness to it or is it warm to the touch? Also, make sure you don't have a fever over 99.9. These are all signs of infection, and you need to take it seriously. HOWEVER, that being said, if you don't have any of the above symptoms, you're fine! The swelling will go down, but it may take some time. Hang in there, everybody, and WELCOME to bandland! PS...if you're in pain, TAKE your pain meds! That's what they're for! ((((((((HUGS)))))))))
