Oh, to avoid the secondary infection, um....THERE, go get yourself some acidophilus. It can usually be found in with the vitamins in gelcaps or strawberry chewable tablets, they're not too bad, and you'll need to take quite a lot to counteract the antibiotic. It's basically the same probiotics that are in yogurt, but in a higher concentration. I've not had a secondary infection from antibiotics since I started doing this.

I belch some wicked tunes now, too. And they come from deep down inside, and there's no stopping them, or quieting them down...

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this idea! We live in a very small town with ONE place where you can paint your own pottery, and they have very limited hours, but I will definitely be running this by her to see if she might want to give it a whirl.

Kat, that is hilarious! Two moms to be sitting through their baby showers all the time IN LABOR! OMG. I'm starting to wonder what I've gotten myself into.... I was thinking really small scale. The mom-to-be has given me a list of names, and it includes 5 people, not including myself, and 4 others I'd like to invite. So the expense isn't really going to be a problem, since there will likely be less than 15 people in attendance. I'm mostly worried about getting the place and date set first off, and then figuring out how to entertain everyone. She isn't married, and the dad isn't welcome, so I was kind of wanting to keep it just for the girls, since I don't want her to feel weird. Her two sons are 13 and 15, though, and I'm sure they will be included since they're a very close family. Thank you to everyone who has posted ideas so far, and please, KEEP 'EM COMING!!!

Whew, that was rough. I've had the flu now for 2 weeks. What I thought was a cold got better for a few days, then hit me last week with a VENGEANCE. What a nasty little bug that is. I'm still coughing and sniffling, but I'm upright (but still exhausted) and back at work because I just could not miss any more days before being put on FMLA, which I'd rather avoid if at all possible. I just hate doing the paperwork for it. I hear that the entire country is being ravaged by this one, seemingly all at the same time, which is unusual. The CDC says it usually spreads east to west over the course of several weeks, but this season it's just been BAM! everywhere...all at once.

Julie, did you find out what was causing your dizziness?

I know a person IRL whose name (maiden name) is Kandy Kane. She's doesn't exactly live up to the expectation of the name, LOL! I like Ginger, but I also like Kitty. I think Kitty used to be one of the nicknames used for Kathrine, so it's not too out there. Good luck picking!

While it's unpleasant and can be a bit painful, I don't think it's anything to be concerned about. I've had bruising after a fill that was worse than the bruising after surgery. It will go away. Hang in there.

I agree with most of what's been said already. It seems like since she has a child with special needs that she feels a sense of entitlement because she has so much to deal with. You handled yourself the best way you could have, and she was out of line implying that your little ones could dress themselves.

Losing,I just read your blog, and it's unimaginable what you're going through. But just as you said, everything happens for a reason, even if we don't know what that reason might be. My heart broke for you when I read what you've been dealing with. Know that you are in my prayers as you weigh this difficult decision. You have a good head on your shoulders, and you'll make the best decision for you when you're ready to decide how to proceed.

Maybe try using that as a reason, only word it differently. For example: "I would like to be able to learn healthy eating habits so that I can teach my children a healthy way to live."

The only instances I can think of where PB'd material would come out your nose is if it's a particularly violent episode. I think I've read about it happening once to someone on these boards.
