I hate it when people post just to post.....

PPL, in case you haven't been following along with the last several posts, and you're not someone who has requested a pm....that is the thread that I was referring to, http://www.lapbandtalk.com/774869-post18.html (restriction 3 weeks post op?) and even though the person in question never answered about what the KEY to not having plateaus was, said person has been outed anyway. There. That's my secret... it didn't play out quite the way I expected it to, but the result is the same.

Oh, I'm so sad for you, but I'm glad you took action. Keep us posted on how you're doing. (((((((hugs)))))))

Rain, are you posting so you won't kill YOUR children??? If so, then please, POST AWAY!!! Hate to not have you on here anymore because you're serving multiple life sentences for killing your own children....

Well, I have to admit, I hadn't seen the threads you posted links to, and after reading them, now I think she's even crazier than I thought. Nuttier than squirrel shit. I still wish she would just RESPOND already! Damn! All these newbies acting like the sun rises and sets in her ass because she's below goal. She has even admitted to not exercising. Frankly, I'd rather do it the way Chickie and Jachut, among others, (I'm bad remembering names)have done it (and you, Babygrl, you're getting there...) I just want to be healthy, and not end up with another kind of eating disorder.

OMG, I've been banded for five minutes, and I haven't lost a hundred pounds yet, what am I doing wrong? Can SOMEONE please tell me why our surgeons don't explain to us the concept of HEALING, and that WEIGHT LOSS is NOT the objective while this is happening?? (And if they do, why the hell don't we believe them?)

I'm staying on plan today because the scale is STILL at 230.4 for the 4th day IN A ROW. GRRR!!

*sigh* Let's just say that I put out some bait and it's still there on the end of my fishing line.
  9. You've gotten some great information already. The only thing that I will add is that most people are scared shitless before surgery, no matter what type of surgery it is. This surgery even adds another element of "unknown" because it WILL change your life afterwards, and we are creatures of habit. We don't like change. We find it hard to embrace change. So yeah, it's understandable for you to be scared. The day before my surgery, I cried all day. My family thought that I was scared of having surgery, but really, I was afraid of the "unknown" on the other side. Come to find out, it's just a new way of being normal. I hope this helps.
  10. Maybe try spreading it out, eat when you're not hungry, you know, go against ALL the good bandster rules.... Eat around your band. YOU CAN DO IT! LOL! That felt weird, giving someone who is at goal advice on eating....when I'm still MILES away. Good luck in your marathon, Jacqui!

    tanked yesterday, better today

You've already done this, but I'll say it anyway. Pull yourself up by the bootstraps, and let yesterday go. You can't do anything about it now, and today is a new day. We've all had those days. Your headache is probably carb withdrawl, and will go away on it's own. Hang in there girl!

I did a baaad thing. I'd rather not say just now what it was, but if things play out the way I think they will, I'll have to post a thread link. Have to keep it on the down-low for now, though, or it may backfire.

    restriction 3 weeks post op?

Yes, DO please share, I've been on a plateau for 10 months. I didn't even know there WAS a key. What's your secret?

I'm so sorry you're going through all this! Try some warm tea, it can be soothing if it's not too hot, and it goes down better than cold Water. I pray that your surgeon has an acceptable solution for you, and that you won't have to lose your band. I'd be lost without mine.

Well, I'll never talk shit about your size, since I'm shooting for that myself. I know my ticker and my sig line say differently, but I figure what the hell, it's a good starting point. It's just taking me FOREVER to get it through my thick skull to to shut my gob and move my ass if I'm ever going to get there.

    I am sane!!

Hell, I'd have had to have a piece of paper and a calculator to count backwards from 100 in 7's. Sheesh! Then again, I'm certifiable, so that just proves it! LOL!

All you people do is complain...

Ok, when I read this yesterday, I was NOT in a very good frame of mind, and I got ticked off, so I didn't let myself say what I wanted to say at the time. I'm in a better mood today, so I'll post now. I've learned more about the reality of living with the band on THIS WEBSITE than my surgeon has ever told me. Don't get me wrong, I love my surgeon, but I've learned SO very much from reading about other people's experiences here. I'm sorry that we don't candy-coat the truth, but if we did that, there would be a LOT of people out there with NO idea that this isn't the "easy way out". Sometimes, it's a bitch being banded, and that's just life. This is a place where we can come and be honest about what we're going through with others who have gone through the exact same thing. Sorry if you perceive us as complainers, but when you're having a problem with something, and you aren't sure about what to do about it, or just want reassurance from someone who's been through it, I hope no one accuses you of being a whiner, and you get the support you need here.
