Like most of us that have to lose weight I have been in a constant struggle with my weight for many years.  My husband actually has a friend that had Lap-band surgery and he suggested that maybe I should look into it. My Lap-Band journey started with a seminar in April. I made an appointment with the surgeon May 11 and during our visit he said I would be a good candidate for Lap-Band.  I had a psych. evaluation in May. Pre-approval was denied by my insurance in June, they wanted more follow-up on co-morbid conditions.  I saw my primary physician and a couple specialist to follow -up on co-morbids and ok's for Lap-Band law dept. to file appeal. After waiting 6 weeks I got notice that Ins. company said they couldn't file appeal because someone already was (??? not sure how that worked as I hadn't given anyone other than them permission) but then I had my surgeon file appeal. Appeal was sent Oct. 29. Figured the ins. comp. would hold out the full 30 days before giving me notice of decision. I was shocked when the Doc. office called today Nov. 9 and said I was approved!!!  My surgery is scheduled for Nov. 17.
