  1. Happy 33rd Birthday erikaz!

  2. Happy 32nd Birthday erikaz!

  3. Hey guys, I had my surgery about 2 months ago...since then, I've lost almost 30 pounds, so I'm pretty happy with the results...I went for my first fill in the beginning of JUne and the doctor, at first, didn't want to do anything cuz I was losing nicely but I asked him to put in a little. So he gave me 2 cc's. The last time I went, I had lost 5 pounds in 2 weeks so again he told me not to do anything cuz he felt as long as I was losing nicely, there was no need to do anything. I'm going back again today and I think I lost another 4 pounds in the 2 weeks since my last appointment. He will probably tell me not to touch it again. My question is if I should ask him to put in a little bit again. Is 2 pounds a week good enough or can I be losing quicker? I find that I eat regular meals and am not really hungry so the band is definitely doing its job. but maybe if I get a fill, I'll eat even less during meals, and lose more. What do you guys think? do you recommend leaving it alone or asking him to put in a little bit? thanks,
  4. Hey all, I'm having my first fill today...just curious if anyone has advise on waht to expect..i've heard the needle is pretty big--will i be sore afterward? also, how long do i have to be on liquid diet? Thanks.
  5. just curious...do medications always have to be chopped up...im 3 weeks post op and have a bad cough..just went to the doctor and he said i have bronchitis and i need to take antibiotiocs...do i still need to cut it in half? do we have to do that forever...what is too big to be able to go down? anyone know--thanks.
  6. my doc said said it was okay to start mushy stage after 10 days and then 10 days of mushy foods. 3 weeks after surgery, ok to start regular food.
  7. anyone know if sushi is ok with the band??
  8. hey guys, thanks so much for your replies...its nice to knwo im not alone in this...im going for my first fill in about 3 weeks so hopefully ill see some changes after that...thanks again!
  9. I am 2 weeks post op and the first week, due to the liquid diet, i lost a couple of pounds but haven't lost since then and am getting frustrated...at this point, im in the mushy stage but i find that i dont feel any restriction and can pretty much eat whatever i want...of course i dont, but i dont feel that full feeling and may be eating more than i should...anyway, the weight is not goign down and i dont go in for a fill for 3 more weeks and im afraid that once im off the mushy stage and can eat regular, i might actually gain instead of lose...i want to see results already but its just not happening...is this what they call bandster hell? anyone have any advice?
  10. i got banded 4/27...if that helps! what kind of concerns?
  11. is drinking through a straw really bad for the band or is it okay once in a while? cuz i like to get iced coffees in the morning and its just not the same without a straw? can anyone shed some light?
  12. i have a question regarding eating and drinking at the same time...im a week post op and still in the liquid diet phase so i guess this week, it doesnt matter whether im doign them together since its all liquids going down...but starting the mushy phase soon. my question is this: is the only reason to not eat and drink together to avoid nausea and vomiting or will it slow down the weight loss? cuz ive heard of people that dont throw up after and can tolerate it...is it damaging to the band or what? im just confused what the real reason is for not doing them together? can anyone please shed some light? thanks.
