Wow, sorry to hear that your having a tough time!! My question to you is, why are you getting so many fills/refills?? Are you eating the right foods? Are you chewing slowly? Has your doctor done any Xrays on you to see if it has slipped? I would definitely ask him about that asap! If you have medical insurance, they should cover any tests that you need to do because it could be life threatening (even tho most likely its not, but they don't know that). Are you going to support groups? It's very, very important to get tips and other concerns on what you should and should not eat, also, a nutritionist would be helpful too if you can get one through your insurance. You definitely can not live on just soups, that's not even enough protein first of all, my advice to you is to first see your doc, if not that dr, then get a second opinion, and have him order some tests, (upper GI) then look around or ask the office if there are support groups in your area to help you. Good luck hun and I hope you get this issue fixed asap!!!

Do I have a gallstone/bladder?
candieee1974 replied to JustTrying2Live's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I was banded 5-10, and I have the same exact pain that you are describing, but I know it's gas..if you were having a gallstone attack, it would be on the right upper part of your stomach with lower and upper back pain. I would't worry about that.. Try taking chewable Gas x to help and also make sure that you are walking a lot to get rid of the gas, it's one of the tricks that really helps a lot!!!! Good luck!!! -

Banded on May 19th
candieee1974 replied to shellylycz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi I was banded on the 10th and belching is totally normal when you have the band put in. They pump your stomach with gas and try to take out as much as possible before the stitch you up, but it's impossible to get all the air out unfortuately. My advice to you is to WALK, WALK, WALK!! As much as possible!! I was up and walking 4 hrs after surgery, in fact, I was the one calling the nurse every 2 hrs to walk, which helps soooo much with gas!! I'm still having it but when I walk or exercise, it comes out it both directions! lol.. Buy the gas x chewables to help you, not the strips cuz they are not as strong. Hope you feel better soon hun and congrats on your new life!!! -
Extreme Gas in Morning!
candieee1974 replied to Kelaine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on the 10th and let me tell you, the gas is the worst!!! Yesterday I started having sharp pains in my upper left abdomen which I know is gas, but dang it hurts!! I was up every hr last night bcuz of the pain. I burp a lot too!! I've been taking the gas x strips not realizing that the chewables are way stronger!! So try those if your not already. I think what makes the gas worse is if we are eating to fast and/or we are not exercising everyday..these are a must to prevent and get rid of gas!! WALK WALK WALK!!! Also stretching might help move the gas out too! Good luck and hope you feel better soon!! -
Anyone have gallstones with weightloss with no symptoms or problems??
candieee1974 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello, just want to see if there is anyone out there that has gallstones or knows of someone that has reached their weight loss successfully with no complications with their stones?? I am scared to death of having an attack, which I never have...but i'm just worried. Im curious if this effects everyone with the LapBand and gallstones, or only a sm percentage of people. Your input would be greatly appreciated!! -
Gallstone attack with the Lapband??
candieee1974 replied to candieee1974's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, now i'm really scared My surgeon told me that he wouldn't take it out at the same time as the band bcuz of the increase risk of infection. He also said if i'm not having any problems or symptoms then I should leave it in, which sucks bcuz now it will always be on my mind...I use to take Vitamins and xtra Vitamin D and fish oil which i'm looking forward to starting again soon, I heard that the fish oil helps with preventing attacks. Thank you all for your responses!! I appreciate it!! -
Gallstone attack with the Lapband??
candieee1974 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi everyone!! I was dx with having gallstones before I even had the lapband put in which was 5/10...my concern and question is if anyone has had an attack when they lost their weight? I am trying to be so happy about my weight loss, but I constantly wonder in the back of my mind, if this weight loss could trigger an attack! I've never had symptoms at all and I know I shouldn't worry, but I want to know if anyone out there has had an attack or not after reaching their goal? Or, if you've had an attack, how much weight did you loose before getting one?? And where you eating greasy foods? Thank you so much in advance for your input!! I really appreciate it!!!! 3 Weeks Out and Can Eat Anything
candieee1974 replied to Wheeler5051's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi there...I was banded on May 10 and was told to follow a stricked diet, which right now i'm on a liquid diet till next monday and then i will be able to have soft foods. I REALLLY believe that if you eat your Protein FIRST, you will stay full longer and will help you from eating seconds. Try to incorporate a Protein shake also if you havent already. If that doesn't work, then try contacting your doctor to see if your ready for your first fill. Good luck to you in all your success!! -
How soon after surgery should I have a BM?
candieee1974 replied to sashields's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello!!! First of all, CONGRATS to all my fellow lap banders!!! I was banded 5/10/11 and I had my first BM 2 days after, then skipped a day, I had one today, but now i'm kind of constipated I really need to make sure to drink plenty of water so it doesn't keep happening... I wouldn't worry to much unless you havent gone past a week. Bring it up to your doctor on your post of vist. Good luck! -

Thank you! I know it's hard, but I do need to stay strong...I have lost 2.5 pounds since monday, so I know i'm loosing weight, I guess in the long run, it's better for me to eat this way so there are no complications in surgery.
