  1. Happy 35th Birthday ta0726!

  2. Happy 34th Birthday ta0726!

  3. I was banded on June 4, 2009 - I am officially in onderland - well 199.5 - I'm quite close. I started at 283. I am sure my progress could have been better, but I slipped up a couple of times and I have been going to the gym, but slacking on cardio. I got on the scale though and I don't think I have EVER smiled while standing on a scale! Now I know what everyone is talking about.....and what helped me in the past week was all the posts about the protein intake - very true!
  4. I realize if I don't work out - I don't lose. I try to work out 3-5 times a week. I do realize that sometimes I experience pain at my port site when on treadmill at either a fast speed or high incline. Is that normal? I have had to leave the gym a couple of times because I was in pain. It does go away, just wasn't sure if I was alone on this one. I was banded in June 2009 and have since lost 80lbs - hope that is good, I am sure I could do better, but I still struggle with the emotional eating.
  5. I had my second fill on August 4th - I have felt minimal restriction. The past few days I have felt an increase in restriction - is that normal to feel restriction 2 weeks after the fill?
  6. Just curious as to how many cc's before you hit your sweet spot. I had my 2nd fill yesterday and now have 4.5 cc's. I was a bit bummed at doctor office since I lost 11lbs since surgery (June 4, 2009). I see how amazing many of you are doing and feel like I am losing beyond slow - the doctor said I am doing well, but 4lbs in 5 weeks.
  7. Wanted to know if anyone else experienced this. I got my first fill yesterday....and today I am starving. I had a yogurt for breakfast and now having some coffee and that would usually last me for a while....now 2 hours later and my stomach will not stop grumbling.
  8. Congratulations on your year anniversary! Hope it has been a great one. Thank you for the advice....I will stick with going forward. :bored:
  9. 3 weeks post-op....I went to the gym last night and did the ellipticle (spelling) for 30 minutes. 10 minutes forward, 10 backward, 10 forward. When going from backward to forward - my stomach starting hurting. I wanted to get to 30 minutes so I kept going. When I got home - it seemed my stomach was a bit swollen and it hurt where the port is. Today - I am a still uncomfortable. Has this happened to anyone....do you think I may have messed something up inside? I am one of those people who don't lose unless they go to the gym.

    Treadmill VS Elliptical

I enjoy the Elliptical because I feel like I am moving more. Also, I like to go 10-15 minutes backwards then 10-15 minutes forward and I keep switching until I complete 30 minutes. It changes it up and it helps the areas that only going forward can't get to.
  11. Thank you for your response Brockbabe....I tried to stay off the scale and thought I was doing well, but turns out I gained 3lbs. It is very upsetting and making me wonder if I made the right choice.

    results not typical

i am going June 4 for my lap band. I started working out with a personal trainer to get my body used to working out. I started in Sept only able to do 1 minute on ellipticle (spelling) and now I can do 30-45. How long do I have to wait after surgery to get back into the gym? I saw how some of you said you work out a lot - which is what I hope to do as well. And also I would like to join you fast loser club!!
