Hey Trece, what up? Thanks for the concern and all your info. I have been on a high protein diet and drop 26-30 lbs already. I dont think it's how much I weigh it was the coordinators explained to me I had to have some of the symptoms like sleep, apnea/acid reflux, high cholestoral, diabetes, high blood pressure ect., I am with BC/BS and a lot of people on my job has hd the surgery using the same insurance company. I told the truth about what was going on with me medically and got refused and others lied and got the surgery. Aint that something? I know at opens season I can change, but the others are about the same (aetna,GEHA, Kiaser Perm,) I have considered going to mexico for the surgery at a well know facility and I have done my homework and checked them out and done a investigative check on the doctor and or hospital. I have medical records from previous doctors about my weight loss history. What medically supervised diet are you referring to? Hit me back, Take Care Tina

Hello Psuki, how are you? I hope that everything is going great. I have a few questions. I need to know the name/number of the doctor you used in mexico and the facility where the operation was performed. I have been turn down twice here in texas and informed I did NOT qualify. I am going to have to self-pay; my insurance BCBS (they suck) will not pay because I am not a canidate for labpand. I am really upset and totally pissed. I was out of $90 each time for those tinika test and stress test and program fees and I wasn't even accepted into the program. I even asked for that part of the fee back (lol) I am going to have it done, it's just a matter of time. Just hit me back----- Take Care, T

Hello "09 how are you? Im not so good right now. The appointment was not in my favor. I am being taken thru the ringer with the insurance, because I dont have sleep abn, my bmi was too low among other things. I spoke to the coordinator at precision surgery and she said that from her experience w/ insurace companies that I may have to be a self pay. I have BC/BS (High Option) so I pay for it and they take a chunk oot bi-wkly for it and the coordinator doesnt think that they will pay for me to have a band. i totally pissed and think about dismissing my insurance at open season.

Hey girl, all these appts are too much:-) Im going to go back to the doctor on 5-15-09 for another appt for the sleep ab test and then to my psych eval on 5-19-09. I glad to get the show on the road finally. I talked w/the coord and she said that all the insurance info is fine and I hope so. Im ready! I have started my own little diet to help me drop some weight. Good luck with everything and I wish you the best too.

I am looking for another dr- at this time due to some problems and bad vibes I got at the surgeons office that I was thinking about using for my lapband. Hit me back and give me a update. Hey Bren, what up? I see you just got my message huh? I visit this site just about everyday. I am finding out a lot by just reading a lotof post and sending messages to others asking questions. I am kind of upset at the staff at precision surgery because of the fact the they lost my paperwork and the front staff was not very friendly to me at all over the phone of in person. I orginally had a appt set for monday 6-1-09 and because of that I had to do all the paperwork over online and my appt was reset to 6-15-09. I do know where you church is. I attend Christ Nations Church on occassion. Im ready to get this show on the road and I hope to have this all done by July or I am going to go with a dr. in dallas who can get to me asap! Hello '09, how are you? I hope all is well. I got your message and I am going back to the dr. on 6/15/09 to get my appt dates set for evals and nutritionist visit and I think blood work. I am asking a lot of questions and I think that the staff doesn't like that. I hope to approved and had surgery no later than July. Keep in touch & good luck. Have you been banded yet?

I went on yesterday because I was contacted by dr.s office that I am suppose to proceed with, but not I am having 2nd thoughts about this particular place in texas. I was told that they have none of my paperwork and it has been misplaced or lost, so... I had to redo all that stuff online. I orginally turn all my stuff in at the siminar I attended. I am considering going to another dr. and start over. I am really pissed off right now. Have you been approved yet? Im not worried about getting approved, it the office staff that I am worried about they all seem dumb founded and I am getting a bad vibe. Gotta Go Keep in touch...

Hey LaMonica, I got your msg today. Im at work and cant check it like I want to. I have attended the seminar, had my 1st consult visit and done the EKG lab. I was told that it is wise to join a support group. I have not had my psch eval yet notr sleep lab study nor the blood lab. I am using a doctor in the texarkana, tx area and it is a slow process. I have BC/BS and lots of people on my job use the same insurance carrier and have had no problem.

Hello Mrs.Nesha, you look fabulous! I read your blog and it was very helpful and informational. I am a soon to be bandster. I look at all your photos and see how you progressed and I say to myself you are a inspriration to all the future bandsters. Keep up the good work and congratulations!

Hello 2nd chance, I am curious to know what does the dr. thinks may have caused this and or went wrong with your surgery; fills/unfills? I have not read a lot of profiles of people who have had to get them removed and I am seeking the lapband, but have this phobia that I will have some problems. I am so scared. I look at some of the photo's where the majority have succeeded and look very good after a ton of weight loss I guess we just don't ever think about a mishap or a failed band. What causes slippage and stoma spasms? Are the spamas very painful? Please hit me back with and update. Thanks

Hay Ms.M-got your message. Im sort of new to this and in the beginning stages and have had lots of questions about the do's and dont's. I hear so many things that I dont know what to believe sometimes. I talk w/ a lady on the phone yesterday who told me she lost 60 lbs; since her surgery in Feb-09 and she eats what she wants when she wants and does not take the vitamins and or protein shakes, but she still lost weight and stated she did have hair loss but as time progressed she stop losing hair. I wish you well and hope you continue to do great w/ losing and getting to your desired size:-)

Hey Lady, congratulations on the approval. have the dr. set a date for your surgery? Well good luck and be blessed. I went for my appt and waiting for physic eval and what ever comes after that. I think that I will be approved because BC/BS does not give that big of a hassle. I work with at least 6 people who got the approval sort of fast. I cant wait to get this party started:-)

Hey Bren-I got your message. You lost your weight and you are taking care of business!! LukN good. Im glad to make friends with you. What church do you attend? I got to CNS sometimes, but belong to another church. I see that you are just down I-30 in Prescott, Ark. I have been there several times. I am always in Hope trying to get to Terry Powells for those goodies. LOL:-) I had considered going to the husband & wife team (Ron & Rachel) in texarkana and actually I attened the siminar @ wadley. I think that they the staff too are very,very busy with schedule/operations and I they are pressured with the whole ark-la-tex area and it is hard to get in. I have also been doing some searching and considering going to dallas, tx for the surgery, it is much faster. Keep In touch.

I have been surfing the net checking statistics on lapband doctors in the area. Who performed your surgery? How much have you lost total? Hello congratulations on your weight loss. How much have you lost so far? Im new to this and have many questions. I have been reaching out to others to find out if there is hair lost after the surgery for black women of color?> I dont want to lose my hair. I go for my first appt w/ the dr. on 5/7/09 I have BC-BS insurance and I dont think that will be a problem and I had to have of 5 years weight loss history.
