What a great idea, I gave all of my sizes 18-22 to a coworker that had lapband after me. It feels good to get it out of my house and pay it forward. She has 2 kids in college and an unemployeed husband, so she couldn't afford new things, and it made me feel good, so we both benefitted. Hopefully someone will be able to use your things. If you get no responses, maybe consider a womens shelter, they can always use things. Congrats on your weight loss. Crystal

So I did w1d1 today and then my normal circiut on the weight machienes, all I can say is ouch. My droid died so I did it without music and without that cool app that tells me when to walk and when to run. I did ok, it was a challenge, but I still did it. I thought I'd do better, I can go all out on the elliptical for an hour but running for 60 seconds about killed me. Hopefully this will help me lose some more weight, i'm very close to onederland and I just can't seem to get there so hopefully this will help. I'm going to do my next workout Sat. Morning. Good luck all. Crystal

Wonderful article! I wish everyone would read this. It made me think of a time when my husbands EX-bestfriend call me a fat @ss, my comment was "dude, seriously, tell me something I don't already know." Its not ok to treat anyone that way. I look at people now that are where I once was, and think to myself, "please go talk to my surgeon."

Hi all. Wow! EVERYONE is doing so well. Congrats! I don't post often one here, but I read the site most days. I thought today was the perfect day to post. Today is my bandiversay. I am down 68 lbs. I finally have perfect restriction as of two weeks ago and am down 3lbs since my fill. My surgeon is very conservative, so I have had alot of work to do on my own, but I guess it has force me to make some lifestyle changes. I was stuck for quite awhile (like 3 months) bounceing back and forth between 221 and 218. I pretty happy with the loss so far though. Can't wait to get to 199lb. I haven't seen that as an adult EVER!! But I can't believe the things I am able to do this summer that I could NEVER do before so that makes it worth it. Keep up the good work. Crystal:thumbup:

I am so very sorry for your loss. -
I had a great NSV today and thought I'd share. My surgeons nurse called me today and said she had a favor to ask of me on behalf of my surgeon. He is giving a presentation the end of this month on bariatrics. So he would like me to come along as a living before and after! I am not yet at my goal, but have lost 60% of my excess weight, so a sucess in there eyes! Not only will I present and discuss my journey thus far, but he would like me to be in a publication for the bariatric center for the hospital! Hard part is going to be finding a before picture since I avoided the camera like the plauge!! Wow is that a motivating event! Thanks for reading. Crystal

No BM for 13 days
Leifysmom replied to reginemichel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do you have any nausea? And are you ble to pass gas and belch? I ask because a postop complication from any surgery is something called an illeus. It is basically the bowel not "waking up" after anesthsia. If you are unable to pass gas, and are now uncomfortable, I would call your surgeon and let them know that you still haven't had a BM, it is NOT normal to go 2 weeks without a BM after surgery. Good Luck Crystal -
I think yes, heavy people are viewed differently in society. I have a job where I meet with physicians to discuss and try to improve patient care. I current focus of diabetic care. Recently I met with a physician who stated "well my diabetic numbers would be better if I could just get rid of all me 300 pounders.". 8 months ago he would not have said this to me, or he would have said it and given me a dirty look. Now I am by no means thin yet, but not nearly the size I was. I was quite offended by this and replied by saying "you know those are the people that need your help the most! Please don't disregard these patients because of their weight, you never know what the trigger in their life will be, and unfortunately it may never come, but when it does, they need you for direction." I feel that most people view heavy people differently no matter what the circumstances. We have all had our "trigger" to make a change. Good luck on your journey. Just because we are obese, does not mean we are lazy, but it may help you when customers see a thin guy in obtaining business, just because of that fact. It is sad, but unfortunately I think true.

I have been thinking about this for a while and just couldn't think of anything I liked. So I asked my husband and he said almost instantly how about your SHRINKTER. I thought that was hilarious but oh so true! Crystal

trying to conceive with pcos
Leifysmom replied to airforcewife07's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Hi, I just wanted to tell you my success story and wish you luck, I know when I was ttc it helped to hear from others wit similar expierences. I was diagnosed with pcos at 18 years old. I married my husband at 24 years old, started ttc at 26 years old after many years of not trying to prevent it. I lost about 40lbs back then and did get pregnant one year after beginning to try using clomid. Unfortuneately I miscarried. Here's the good part, I was able to keep the weight off for another year while continuing to ttc, decided to see a fertility specialist in nov of 07, we had decided to do injectables and iui. So she started to scan my ovaries in prep for the stimulation with the meds, I had a cyst, she didn't think we could do the stim, scanned every other day until omg your cyst is an egg, go home and hve sex, so 12 days later after NOT using the drugs, I have a positive pregnancy test. My cyst turned into my beautiful little boy. So hang in there, it does happen, my little guy will be five this year. Positive thoughts your way! Crystal
