Thanks....don't worry about the extra skin yet...i hear it takes 1 yr for the skin to go back to normal or as normal as its going to be.....

thanks....who knows maybe they will credit me....i will sign in and put Dr Fiallo name and if they don't credit it oh well....ha,ha,...hay i look at it this way if i go to Dr Fiallo meeting in June & july or even July & aug i should be all set for Sept.....so i will enjoy the summer and try to take off some weight on my own as a head start...I have lost 6 pounds already so who know i might even have 20 off before surgery...what a great start....Did you have problems with your skin ?....they say to lose slow so the skin remains tighter....at my age i will need repair surgery...ha,ha...

yes you are, ha,ha..lots of expierence under your belt now...wow thanks for the tip..think i will see if i can attend one of those mettings at the Chestnut building...interesting....seems a shame to have to wait just cause of a meeting when all else will be done....yes thanks for the reminder about it being a tool this band ..i think if i don't have hunger i will be ok and even if you have a bad day from what i hear and eat or over eat i should say that your body will slap you so to speak, ha,ha with a not so nice stuck period....oh i don't want thant..no thanks!....

Anyone from this area? Wondering about the Dr i am going to have my lap band with...Dr Fiallo ? anyone gone to him?

i am not really sure but i have heard they can be expensive...Maybe they will give you a discount for not having ins.....i heard but not from Dr Fiallo office it can run 240. a fill...not cheap and really don't go by me and ask for a discount for not having ins...what the heck they can only say no...let us know what they say and how much $$$$...

wow you have done a amazing job losing weight....i have a appt with Dr Fiallo in 2 weeks and after that i just need to get in my 2 support groups but there running behind with them so i am not sure if they can fit me in the month of June or not...if not that i will have to wait till July & Aug meetings ...i hope to be banded by Sept....Hope i do as well as you....

i did get my appt for May 19th...sorry if i repeated this...i cannot get into the May support group and maybe not even the June one...the office said they had stopped the meetings for a month and now they are behind with them so i might not beable to go till Aug.:thumbup:..i will keep you updated.....Bev

PS....do i need to sign up for the meetings?..I cannot believe the May one is filled...rats! like i said i need 2 meetings before they can send my file to bl cr.......

hi, Got my appt with Dr Fiallo for May19th....but the support group is full for May so i have to wait till June i guess...Do you no how many they will have in June and when they are as i forgot to ask the lady in the office when she called me with my appt...i have to attend 2 and ever thing else is done...help, ha,ha.....

well with that said i can see i need to take 2 weeks off for sure...some of my kids are 25 lbs....yes infact the office told me i might hear by the end of the week with a appt date..i just night make the May meeting after all...

since most of you have Dr Hagg or Dr Fiallo for your surgeons....question. How long did they say to stay out of work...i was told in the informal meeting that there were no restrictions after lap band, what! i even said i work with children, lifting, changing , ect and they said no restrictions....i was blown away...On the OH board all of them said there Dr told them not to lift over 25 pounds...some said no laundry baskets for 2 weeks........How long do you think , since you all had the surgery that i should take off from work? I had a nurse tell me to take 3-4 weeks...she went back early and her port is now flipped....??? Help!

what day is the support group on so i don't make a dietician appt that night?...Is it the first Tuesday of the month? this is Dr Fiallo group i am talking about??????

Jen does the first information group count as 1?...i have had several mental health appts and i am set up for 1 dietician appt and have several with the weight loss clinic already..so i think its mainly the 2 support meetings and getting a appt with the surgeon..everh thing else seems lined up...well if i have to wait thats ok...hope i can be done before Sept even if its the end of Aug.....thanks for your help...

think i am going with fiallo??? who ever has the first open appt, ha,ha...i hear Hagg has a better bedside manner but i know someone in the medical field and they say Fiallo has a good rep as a surgeon but both are very good...

thanks Amy...Have you been to the support group? I noticed last night that there were several banders there..why? was this some thing the office ask people to do for others thinking about the band? Also when is there support groups for pre op and post op again...someone told me but i forgot...sorry....

Thanks....i have had 3 mental health appts, 1 with the weight loss center, i dietician appt set up, a appt with my pcp, so i think i might be all set for Aug..gulp....

Hi Everyone, Went to the seminar last night and Dr Hagg spoke and he seemed very nice. After filling out the form they said someone from the office would call in 2-3 weeks wow...did not think it would take this long ...Was it sooner for any of you with that office when you signed up? They did say a posative for me and that was some ins co will approve you after 3 months of the required appts....Blue Cross said they would cause i called them...hoping to be banded in Aug....

Hi Everyone, Oh i am so happy to hear you all like them at that office...I am going to the information meeting tonight but i have already started my journey with the mental health person. dietician, weight loss clinic, ect per Blue Cross....so now i am picking my surgeon...How lonf does Dr Fiallo make you wait for the surgery or i should say going through all the areas requested by ins...My ins co said there was no real length of time so i was wondering if you have been going to everyone for 4 months do you think he will do the surgery?....question...Do you have that pb they talk about and other bad symptoms and how bad are they really?....thanks for any help you can offer...i get on another board, obesity help and there are members from all over the country and i tell you i hear about slippage way to often...scares me.....

i have made up my mind to do the band..i am 61 and don't want to wait any longer...i live in the western Ma area and have picked my dr ..Dr Fiallo from Springfield, Ma....i cannot wait to start the journey of weight loss...I have Blue Cross Ins so i am hoping to have my surgery by Sept...doing all the pre dr visits now....Love to hear from you all...Does anyone live near Springfield, Ma ? I am outside in a town called Agawam.
