I haven't found anything I like yet at all. The powder stuff is okay - tolerable - almost too sweet though - can't do much of it at a time. I'm going to order some of the Syntrax Nectar... however, I may wait and see which ones you like before I do. At this point, I figure whatever Protein I get in is better than nothing.
  2. Wow really? I didn't see that listed on my post-op report.

    Sleeve vs. Lap Band

No, not having any hunger pains ... Tuesday, when I was still having a difficult time finding something I could stand the taste of, I remember saying to my Fiance that evening... WOW, I think I'm actually hungry. I've had a few "I think I'm actually hungry" moments since, however I wouldn't say it's a tremendous amout by any stretch of the imagination, and after a few sips of Water, broth or a popsicle, the feeling is gone. OregonDaisy says she NEVER feels hungry and could probably go all day without eating and that when she does eat because she thinks she "should" she's stuffed on 5 bites. Dr. A wants you to eat 3 meals every day - no snacking - whether you're hungry or not. 70 gms. Protein, 600-800 calories and 64 oz. of water ... I still am not able to get all of that in ... I think at this point in order to do so I'd have to have a straw in my mouth all day long and sip sip sip. I'm not dehydrated however, so every day I just try to get in more than the day before.
  4. Well, if you think of any other questions, ask away, on or more of Dr. A's patients will surely have an answer.
  5. The surgeon I originally thought I was going to use before doing more research and talking to WASa was charging $25,000 for the sleeve and that was HIS fee only. It is ridiculous the span of prices from state to state.

    Sleeve vs. Lap Band

As strange as it seems, too, if you're having a sweet craving and you eat some cheese, it generally satisfies the sweet craving. I crave sweets at times and at different times, I crave salty. I don't keep candy or chips in the house for that reason.

    Short Term Goals

I don't see how you CAN'T lose Steve if you're following the same diet as your wife - it probably won't be as fast as she loses, however, I bet you lose. I'm 1 week out today and have lost 12 lbs. My goal right now, being so newly-sleeved, is to keep the scale on the downward slide as long as I can.
  8. So HERE is where you posted ... I knew both of us weren't losing our minds!

    Today is the Day

It has a lot of useful information in it, in my opinion. If you want me to scan it and email, let me know, I can do it tomorrow or Monday.

    Today is the Day

Check the folder they gave you the day of your pre-op testing .. the one that had the questionnaire we had to fill out for Lucy before the surgery the next day ... it's entitled Post-Surgery Diet. I bet you have it - if not, let me know and I'll take it to work tomorrow and scan and email it to you in pdf format.

OKAY - FOUND IT!!! It was given to me after my pre-op testing and I never got through everything in that folder .. reading it all now.
  12. That's so true -- it gives us newbies incentive to know it can be accomplished.
  13. I know there must be a way to set your default font/color for posting/replying; however, I'm apparently not in the proper location to do that ... how is that done, please? Black and Verdana are just too boring for me

Well make a list so you don't forget! How is your new granddaughter doing?

    Today is the Day

Nope, just reread my emails from Nina and Gaby and saw no mention of no more than 2 oz. in 15 minutes ... yet, like I said, I can't take in that much in 15 minutes anyway, so not a problem for me yet. It took me 3-4 hours to drink 4 oz. this morning.

    Anastesia?

WOW how scary - glad your husband was there and able to call 911. Also glad you are okay now. WASa will have the answer to your question about the anesthesia that Dr. A uses ... I know he uses general anesthesia as well as a spinal block so that they don't have to use as much general anesthesia - at least that is my understanding of the reason. I'd never had surgery or been put under so I was quite hesitant, but I came through it with flying colors. Good luck to you. Also, you can always email Renee or Nina and ask them.

Where did you see that 2 oz. every 15 min.? I don't remember reading that -- not that I can get in 2 oz in 15 minutes anyway, just curious.

    Effects of anesthesia

Well I asked Bob to please quit smoking (he needs to anyway) and he has said he wanted to so this is a good reason and as good a time as any.

Did you look for those marshallow mud pie bars with only 1g sugar alcohol -- they are absolutely delicious I'm telling you

Oh you don't have to worry about that ... they just slip right out no effort at all ... sorry to be so graphic ... I can't believe it hasn't hit you yet even with the small amounts of fluids ... I haven't been able to get in all of mine yet either. Maybe we should melt a popsicle and see how many ounces are in one of them ... they feel really good on my throat right now.
  25. I agree with you 1 MILLION PERCENT!!!
