That's exactly what I thought - and that was surgeon only. Plus, there's really no good hospitals in Las Vegas -- it is sad when you choose which hospital you want to go to based on the fact that they've had the lowest med mal lawsuit rate. I worked Med Mal for 6 years; defense side; and now 2 years plaintiff side; and trust me, you see the worst of the worst and makes one a bit gunshy.

That makes 3 of us at least! :lol0:

Anyone take nexium more than once a day?
Malaika replied to debking811's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I realized last night that i was taking 40 mg instead of the 20. And yet, I was still having some issues about 6 pm in the evenings -- so I will take 20 mg in the morning and 20 mg in the evening and if I have to buy more when were in Mexicali in July, I guess I will. That or I'll switch to Zantac which has always worked well for me in the past. Hope you get to feeling better girl ... you may need it for that Lebanese food you're going to be tempted with soon ... wonder how that'll taste pureed? :lol0: -
Didn't mean to start a debate, was simply ranting that I find it irritating :lol0:

I'm so "lucky" in that regard, in that I gave up fast foods about 5-6 years ago. Occassionally I would go there with a friend who was "craving" fast food (of course she's about 5'4" and weighs 108 lbs) and I barely could get back to the office until it slid right on through. To me, that's just not enjoyable, so I gave them up. I can do Arby's, rarely, but that's about it.

No, didn't forget at all ... was actually talking to the OP, just quoted your response. I see my chiro so often Bob refers to him as my boyfriend ... LOL

Welcome Judy and congrats on making your decision. We're here for any questions you may have.

I agree with you Mac 100%. It would have been so much easier to stay home during the liquid phase. My job is a desk job mostly; however, it requires a lot of mental concentration and since I'm not getting in all my Protein, I'm a bit "slower" and "foggier" than usual. Luckily, I have a great boss and he's cool with it all as he knows it's "not me." He sent me home early today because he could see the light was on but no one was home.

You know what you might check out as well -- I used to get "migraines" terribly to the point that I thought my head would explode. Come to find out, I have TMJ. I see my chiro once a week and he adjust my jaw back into place. I also saw my dentist and he had a mouthpiece made for me that I wear at night ... it's incrediby sexy -- LOL ... regardless, it helps tremendously and my "migraines" have dissipated.

Malaika replied to ALISIA's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you'll be fine. Might be a little tired when you go back to work; however, it's doable. -
Oh man, I sure hope my cheese doesn't turn salty ... that would be a tragedy! LOL

CONGRATS ... that's got to feel good. And maybe you're making your holes with hoes? That's what happens when you loose weight you know! -

I've never liked egg salad ... so maybe WASa can give me a good recipe -- I might be able to eat it now with this weird thing in my tastes happening.

It's amazing how strong your subconcious can be ... I would love to have a salad .. however, salad was one of my favorites before WLS. Whenever I go to Sam's, the checkout person- the one at the door - always says "you have one of the healthiest carts I've seen all day." I did eat healthy before my WLS; however, I ate too much and even too much of a good thing is not good for you. The WLS has definitely helped control portions ... I intend to take advantage of that once I am on solids and beging exercising regularly too. Congrats on becoming the health nut instead of the "grazer" ...

okay - be there as soon as I finish with these posts okay>

Well we don't use salt so most times anything prepared tastes salty to me - like frozen dinners and Soups.
-
yuk on the film And I know what you mean about not being able to drink it and not wanting to get sick ... been there, done that.
-
Or maybe because it's near a hospital, they're used to it as well.
-
I'll give that a try tomorrow or Sunday. I had cream of chicken tonight - and it was pretty tasty, although even being low sodium, it still tasted salty to me.

?How many ibs a week do u lose?
Malaika replied to ALISIA's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it varies person to person and how far out from surgery you are. I am 2 weeks out and have lost 17 lbs -- possibly more, but I haven't weighed in 3 days as I was obsessing over the number of the scale and decided to stick to 1x a week -- Monday -- I will post on Monday the results. I too have not been great with the exercise. I am not able to get in all the Protein and I am very tired, so once I get home from work, all I want to do is sleep ... or sit ... so I find myself sitting in front of my laptop and reading the posts on here. My DF and I are going to go out this evening once it cools down a bit more and try the bike riding ... if that doesn't work, then we'll do the walking. He is tentatively scheduled for surgery on 7/10 so needs to get moving too ... we will hopefully be motiviation for one another ... -
NO - that is Dr. Aceves in my profile picture. You can email nina and tell her you are interested in surgery with Dr. Aceves. I will PM you with her email address ... she'll lead you through the entire process. If you go with Dr. Aceves, you won't be disappointed in the entire process at all.

Would it help to add some splenda? Or may mix the lemon and iced tea together for a lemony-tea? Did you buy sample sizes?

What is that WASa?
