    I just realized...

We prefer to grill out as much as possible, especially this time of year when it is so hot here in Las Vegas. I think we'll proably grill up a lot of things, and then seal-a-meal them to use during the week ... it's nice after working a full day to come home and only have to reheat dinner, instead of starting from scratch.

    My date is set!

I envy you both ... I am so tired, I actually took a 4 hour nap today -- that is SO unlike me ... and I could have slept longer, just felt guilty sleeping as long as I did. And, I could go back to bed now and probably sleep all night. Will be glad to start mushies when I can eat eggs and cheese and see if that changes my energy level--because right now it sucks big time.

    I'm New Here

I used it every night -- just kept moving it around to whereever it felt the best ... it was very helpful the first 2 days when the gas was moving around.

Capriotti's?? I can imagine how everything they have is high calorie ... but man-o-man is it good. I told Bob today -- just think, we'll be able to get a 6" sub at Subway and split it and still have some left over ... I figure our grocery bill and expense for eating out when we do will drastically decrease. (That's is once I quit buying anything I can think of to try and get my Protein in! -- HA!)

And of course, getting to interact in a round-about way with all of US ... :001_tt2:

Something I read on that other board

Have you ever considered it may be due to all the stress you've been under since your surgery? Your dad's fall, his death, having to deal with all of that, plus your job and having just gone through surgery? Just a thought.

    Newbie questions :)

Guess that was just wishful thinking huh? Meant to say egg salad ... :lol0:

    I just realized...

Well the fact that they pass through me in not time at all is definitely a deterrant to me to keep from going to them! :lol0:

    I just realized...

Well with the push towards eating healthy, the fast food places are keeping up somewhat in trying to offer healthy alternatives, which does make eating at them when necessary a little easier.
  10. Glad to hear you made it there and all is going well. We'll wait to hear from you tomorrow after you wife is out of recovery and back in her room. Hugs to her.
  11. This is true -- I must have a lot of swelling, as I still have a hard time getting too much liquid down; Ruthi on the other hand, who had surgery the same day as I did, seems to not have any trouble at all and hasn't since the day we got liquids. Mine has gotten better; however, it still feels as though it gets "stuck" right between my breasts and that does concern me. Congrats on your surgery -- and welcome to VST!

    Bougie prosthetic?

I think I'd ask for an explanation of that one. NO kiss ... maybe at least some KY?

    Non Scale Victory (NSV)

I agree ... and I plan to be there again and stay there one day in the not to distant future.

    I just realized...

It may take all that and more ... I asked him the other night ... think gaucomole is a mushie? ?And he said yes ... so now I've been trying to figure out what I can eat it on when we're there ... LOL Maybe I should walk to the RX and get an ice cream and bring it back to the room???? Would that be mean?:lol0:

    My "BEFORE" Pics

I cannot believe I'm actually posting these. I plan to post in the same dress every 20 lbs so I can see a difference myself (I HOPE).
  17. WOW - Impressive -- want to come and pack for me in September when I go on my cruise?

    August 4th !!

I think the fact that you've had the experiences you have makes you a good spokesperson for both the band and the sleeve.

    Newbie questions :)

Thank you -- I may have lost more than 17 lbs. however, I was obsessing on the scale and so am forcing myself to only weigh once a week - Mondays. I will be anxious to see what the scale reads on Monday! I am feeling really good considering I had major surgery 2 weeks ago. I am back to work and all of my other normal activities. I do tend to tire more quickly than I did before the surgery; however, I totally believe that is due to the fact that I am not able to get in all my Protein. I will start on mushies next week so I think that when that happens, the protein will be easier to get in -- scrambled egg with cheese, egg salad sandwich, chicken salad, etc. At least that is what I'm hoping !!!!

    I just realized...

That's great Elisabeth. We very seldom eat out anymore. I am hoping once I am on solid foods that I will feel have more of a desire to cook. Right now (full liquids) I find that I have a very difficult time figuring out what to eat and what sounds/tastes good. I feel as though the only option available to me is Soup and I don't really like soup. Once I am able to eat other things, I may actually find a desire to cook and be creative again.
  21. Perhaps you should look into some food counseling for your food issues to work as another tool along with the sleeve. It sounds as though you have some serious issues with food and the counseling may be able to help you determine exactly why you feel that way and how to work through those feelings.

    Newbie questions :)

Everyone does -- you want to know the answer to everything - even if it does transpire - you want to make sure your bases are covered -- you'll be good and 2 weeks off will be a wonderful thing as well.
  23. I think Yoga, Dancing and Martial Arts are great forms of exercise -- you definitely burn calories with the dancing and martial arts and the yoga is great for stretching. You should do fine on that aspect. As for the binge eating -- you won't do it because you won't be hungry.

    Effects of anesthesia

Thankfully, I'm back to sleeping on my own without the need for any medication at all ... which is the way I prefer it. Thank you for your input though -- may come in handy when my DF has his surgery in July.

You'll be so happy with your decision and your entire experience. I strongly recommend bringing your heating pad ... and a box of Puffs -- they don't supply either.
