  1. I can totally relate -- I have my scale in the kitchen, as the bathrooms are too small and the moisture isn't good for them anyway. All the other rooms are carpet and the kitchen is tile ... so there it is, just waiting for me every morning...calling my name ....

    Calling Vegasangel....

Will do ... and so now, Bob and I will be on mushies together ... LOL ... we ordered a quesadilla today for breakfast/lunch (it was like 6 small pieces) and we had leftovers ... lunch, with tip was $9.00 ....Yep, our grocery bills are definitely going to decrease!
  4. WOW - glad you cleared that up - you were about to get yet ANOTHER phone call from me! Thanks for the information on the phone numbers, too -- we were able to have Nina make us reservations and got to Mexicali about 1:30 a.m. All worked out great!

    Odd question

You all are so great for remembering me! Thanks! Posted this on Daisy's "Calling VegasAngel", but here ya go: I had my barium swallow. Apparently everytime I drink/eat there is a small section, where the sliding hiatal hernia was repaired, that spasms and after the spasm, then it relaxes and the liquid/food passes through. Dr. Campos said told me to drink something warm before I ate and that should help to relax the spasms allowing me to eat. He said this will dissipate over time and told me to stay on a mushie diet for another 4 weeks and then to try adding in solid food a little bit at a time. Everything else looks good he said, which is a good thing. BTW - he's lost 44 lbs since his sleeve 4 months ago and looks good! :001_cool:
  6. Anxious to hear how your surgery went and how beautiful PV is ... will be looking for your posts the next few days.

    First Procedure

I've noticed even with "only" 26 lbs. gone my back bacon is a lot less noticeable and thankfully my arms have never gotten fat. I believe I will be able to tone that up with exercise. I will need a TT for sure, but I have needed one for years and once I get the fat gone, then there will be lots of loose skin there. And I am sure I am going to need a boob job -- I always used to say all I needed was a perk job; however, when I get all the weight off that I want to lose, the girls may need more than just "perked":biggrin0:.

    65-70 lbs to lose

I'm right there with you chell!

    Finally normal!!

Thank you for posting your story -- I am looking at bilateral knee replacements down the road (sooner than later I think) and it's nice to know how others have done -- I am so sorry you had a such an awful first experience and I will definitely be talking to my surgeon in depth when the time arrives for me to face that situation.
  11. Tick tock is right -- we'll miss you by 1 day -- DF is having his surgery on 7/11 and we will be on our way home on 7/13. You'll love the entire experience. I had my sleeve surgery on 6/12 and have, at last weigh-in, lost 26 lbs. I am having a few problems; however, according to Yolanda, the problems I am experiencing happen to about 1% of their patients and it will disappear in time, so it's nothing major!
  12. I think you should quit weighing everyday -- or follow the rule of the CarbAddicts book ... weigh everyday and then take the average of the 7 days for an average weight loss/gain ... if I can't stay off the scale on a daily basis, then I am going to start charing my loss/gain daily and see what the average is ... maybe that will work for you since you are trying to maintain and will give you a better perspective of your weekly loss. Just a thought!

    Calling Vegasangel....

Hi Daisy - you're so funny. We left Las Vegas last night and drove through to Mexicali - got to our room about 1:30 am. Bearded has his pre-op tests today, met with the Dr. Garcia and got all the wonderful paperwork. I had my barium swallow. Thanks for checking up on me. We have to be at the hospital tomorrow morning at 7:00 and Bearded's surgery is set for 9 am. We didn't get to see Dr. Aceves today as he was still in surgery when we left the hospital at 1:30 pm Will kep you posted how Bearded does. Did see Eyfura and her sister (who had her surgery yesterday) and met RoseyandMusic and her dad today too. That's all for now ... more to follow :biggrin0:

    Change of Plans

Oh Judy, I'm so sorry to hear about your mom's need for surgery and that you have had to cancel your surgery as well. However, I believe that everything happens for a reason and perhaps right now is just not the right time for your surgery. Plus, you are right, you only have one mom and you need to be with her right now. Your time will come and in the meantime, you can start dieting on your own and be in even better condition by surgery time.

    God's greatest gift

AWESOME STORY. Thank you for sharing and giving us all inspiration. Keep up the GREAT work. Welcome to VST!
  18. Whoever told you that the post-op diet would be easy?
  19. Malaika

    Rate your liquids

Oh, good to know -- I ordered some of the truffle flavors and the Unflavored too. Wonder if you could mix the truffles with SF pudding if that would cut down on the sweet?

    Odd question

My throat hurt for a few days after surgery, but definitely not for 3 weeks. Am sure you will be fine and your solo with be beautiful. Plus you'll have lost weight by then, too!
  21. Malaika

    Pre-op diet

I agree with RB - the liquid phases, especially the clears was the abosolute worst -- I never expected to be so happy to be able to eat some Jello. And I would also always prefer to eat fruit than drink the juice - less carbs and more Fiber. Plus you get to CHEW!!

So in top of being in pain, you're miserable and itchy too ... that sucks!

    Reflections from a Fat Chick

10 lbs is great - and 10 lbs. less that you now need to lose following your WLS. We will be there tomorrow too -- Bearded for his pre-tests and me for a GI. We will look you up .... I will just stand in the middle of the wing and holler "ROSEY"!!!!! and wait for you to respond. Look for Eyfura and her sister too -- her sister is having surgery today. There will be several of us from the site there so it will be nice to meet everyone in real time! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and ask God to guide Dr. Aceves' hand for a successful surgery -- you'll be back in your room before you know it!
  24. What is actigal? Should I see if my PCP will put me on it? I don't want to have gall bladder surgery either!!!
