    Reflections from a Fat Chick

I still can't gulp, although I can take a bigger sip than in the beginning without getting the pain in the chest -- and I'm 6 weeks out ... I am getting better at listening to my body and stopping when I am full. I still have a hard time getting in my protein, but I'm doing better every day. I know what you mean, though, about not being able to quench your thirst -- I don't like that -- I've found if I suck on ice cubes it helps as opposed to trying to drink enough to quench it -- if that makes sense.

Do we always have to talk about the sleeve?

Let us know Carol -- never been to Phoenix or Mesa so might be worth the trip -- and $1000 over 3 years isn't all that bad when you think about it ...
  4. So now you're telling me we're going to need to drug you to sleep while you're here? I'll stock up on the Tylenol-PM
  5. Well Ash got me all hungry for brocoli cheese soup at Quiznos ... but Bearded turned me down on the offer ... so now I have to figure out something else that sounds good ...

Do we always have to talk about the sleeve?

That's what is so great about Bare Minerals -- you can't even tell you've got it on and it doesn't dry out your skin at all -- it's all natural. I could never wear foundation before because by the time I got the liquid stuff spread out on my face I felt like my pores were "suffocating" and would break all out in a sweat and it would "melt" off -- so before Bare Minerals I never wore foundation. This stuff actually makes your skin feel very silky smooth. It's great stuff. Not trying to influence you one way or the other Mac, just letting you know how great it is ... if I looked okay without make-up, I wouldn't worry about it on a daily basis either -- however, I'm blotchy without it and if I don't put on eyeliner, brow liner and mascara, my eyes look little and beady ...

Do we always have to talk about the sleeve?

Oh the surgery has nothing to do with the curliness -- it was doing this months before I had the surgery -- Melissa has been doing my hair for a couple of years that's why she notices it so much.

    Introduction

I so agree with Ruthi and Susan -- Dr. Aceves is an awesome human being and one of the most compassionate doctors I have ever met; his staff is totally awesome and make you feel as though you are the only reason they are there - you couldn't ask for better care in my opinion.
  14. No ... I did purchase some liquid centrum before surgery, I just haven't tried it yet - someone said it was really nasty - so I've been hesitant to try it myself ... thinking of getting the gummy vitamins - I think they make them for adults.

Do we always have to talk about the sleeve?

I am interested in that too -- I would love to have permanent eye liner and brows -- I have brows; however, they have gotten so light if I don't use brow color, you can't tell I have them ... how much is it? Does it hurt? I use a babywipe to take off the eye liner/mascara most of the time -- if I forget before going to bed, then I do it when I get up in the morning. I've been told that the reason one's hair beguns to turn grey is because their body quits producing copper ... and copper is not a supplment you can take so once your body is done, you begin to turn grey. I have grey - not a lot, but enough to make me color my hair!
  16. or you could get a convertible Jag and sit up on the back while someone else was driving it - and the license plate could read "RUTHI":lol0:

    Advice needed

Always ready when you need them and they don't talk back, expect you to cook and clean for them .. you just need to be sure you have an ample suppy of batteries on hand
  18. I can't give any advice either other than if you've had the band replaced once already and it didn't take I sure as HELL wouldn't do it another time -- it might be that your surgeon will have to do an open VSG and can remove any excess scar tissue that the damage from the band caused -- I'd ask him if that is an alternative. Good luck! I'm with Ruthi - insurance approval is a good sign!
  19. Could be the flu that's going around -- I felt that way all day Friday and Saturday ... I did actually get sick Friday night but the rest of the time just felt like I was going to but didn't ... lots of people at work have been feeling the same way ... hopefully it will pass by tomorrow !

    Just hit Onederland!!

I'm hanging in there -- at least I didn't gain anything in the past week - just stayed the same for 7 days ...

    Tomorrow is the big day

Congratulations Jill -- if you have too much trouble sleeping, take a dramamine -- it will help take the edge off. Of course, you can always sleep AFTER the surgery and will no doubt want to do so.

Do we always have to talk about the sleeve?

I don't know what she charges -- I pay $72 for color, cut and style - which I don't think is all that bad every 6 weeks ... I'll talk to her about working you in while I'm cooking under the hair dryer -- I'm sure it won't be an issue ...

Do we always have to talk about the sleeve?

What do you consider a long time? I timed myself this morning - 8 minutes from beginning to end - including eyeliner and mascara and lipstick ... is that too long?
