    I luv my sleeve

Well come along and join us - the more the merrier - cruises are always more fun when you know someone else -- found a cool link though and have been posting (in fact the forum resembles VST in it's setup) and there is a Meet&Greet set for our first night on the ship ...maybe we should consider a VST Cruise down the road!

    Two days out.

Congratulations on your surgery -- yes, the gas is common - it's the only time when everyone was happy that I was burping and farting! The nauseau (or drive heaves) should pass soon -- and hopefully they are giving you something for it. Enjoy your deluxe accomodations and the view - and having everyone wait on you ... each day will get easier!

Come in and chat with me!

Our schedule has been so crazy that it's late by the time I even get on to check the posts and by the time I check this site, the cruise cite and my emails, I'm really tired and not up for chatting -- maybe this weekend I'll make it in ...

    Nana's story

LOL ... Nana ... we thought we'd warned you ... it hits everyone at different times -- Ruthi was still in the hospital ... me it was 3 days after I got home ... it just lasts a few days and will be gone ... no need to fret!!!

    Pre-op diet day 3

You might want to try a poached egg instead ... or at least find a way to make the egg moister ... for some reason I have a hard time with scrambled eggs.

    I luv my sleeve

That is AWESOME about everything. Bearded and I are leaving on a cruise on 9/5 and one thing I've always wanted to do was horseback ride on the beach but could never do because they have a strict weight restriction and I was over it - and so was bearded .... this time ... we're 25 lbs. UNDER it ... I'm so excited - we booked it tonight and we'll doing it in St. Lucia - including going into the ocean on our horse!!!
  8. Congrats Tiff - that is great -- I don't even worry about what anyone thinks about what I am eating - I eat what I can and when I'm done, I'm done. Generally no one has even asked.

    Crazy ichy ???

I itched the day of and day after surgery -- I thought it was the antispetic stuff they used (my entire torso was pink) however when I mentioned it to Dr. Aceves he said it was due to the morphine they put in the spinal.

    smoking

Bearded didn't quit until about 1 week before his surgery and it wasn't a problem for Dr. Acves

    Surgery Today

SoCal the day you've been waiting for is finally upon you (and actually your surgery is over). I know it went great and I wish you a fast and speedy, painless, stress free recovery. Looking forward to hearing from you and following your progress.

Your time is fast approaching though Ky.Hen ... and anything worth having is worth waiting for ... so.............

    Nana's story

Congrats Nana - glad you had such a good experience in Mexicali - it's the bomb!

    Over Did it...

I have that too - thank God not nearly as often as up to 2 weeks ago - I get hot and clamy, lightheaded, etc. and I have to lay down - it totally drains all the energy out of my body -- I think, although I am not a doctor, that when you are stuck, you become anxious from the pain and that causes your adrenaline to kick in and thus the rapid heartbeat, etc. I know Bearded has the same reaction. Thank goodness we're both finally learning to take smaller bites, chew more and stop before we get to the stuck feeling. BTW Rosey - still waiting to see the pics of your new "do'... how are you doing on your journey? Can you believe you're almost 2 months out?
  17. Welcome to the family Jage. We are all here to support you and are so glad you have joined us. I didn't have those dreams; however, I know that Ruthi did -she and I had surgery the same day and I know that there are others on this site who have shared similar stories, so rest assured you're not alone! It would be interesting to have one's dreams analyzed as they never mean what they really seem to mean. As for the liquid diet - yes, that was very difficult - I, too, never thought I'd have a problem with it - however, it was a tough journey -- I got through it by telling myself if was only temporary and that in xx number of days I could have, in my case, tomato Soup. The full liquids, while still difficult, are so much easier than the Clear Liquids. Hang in there - for me it was 10 days - and I kept telling myself it would all be worth it ... and at 10 weeks out and 39 lbs. off, it has definitely been worth it. Norma's ideas are great ideas, too. Also, don't be around those when they are eating - just remove yourself from the temptation (or torture). You'll do this !!!!
  18. As sad as it is - it has happened to me and others in every office I have worked. One time I had a small pizza and had 2 pieces left - went to get it to take home for dinner and the container was there - but the pizza was gone. It's amazing what bravado (and poor manners) some people have.
  19. The number one surgeon in the LV area for sleeves also oversews his staple lines ... he never made any mention of glue, so it's not only "mexican" surgeons who oversew the staple line. Again, I believe it is a matter of personal preference on the part of the surgeon and not something that is standard protocol.
  20. Congrats Kromrider - 9/3 isn't all that far away - it will be here before you know it -- it's great that you are happy with your surgeon - that is a very important step.
  21. Get a food sealer and seal it - freeze it and eat it later -- if you have several things, you can mix it up during the week - and the nice thing about the seal-a-meal bags is you can boil them or nuke them ... I LOVE my seal-a-meal - already wore one out -working on #2. Before Bearded had his surgery, I never had leftovers -- I'd bring them home, but they'd be gone by the next morning or the next evening when I got home -- I was used to that though, as my kids were always the same way -- it's like they could sense there was a doggy bag in the fridge!
  22. Malaika

    Unbelievable that I did this!!

THANK YOU!!! I've never cared for milk - can't stand it - my grandmother used to give me calcium pills because she was so worried I didn't drink milk. As I got older, I become lactose intolerant. I get my dairy with yogurt and cheese -- I have no trouble with either of those items. Me too - I don't do probiotics - not even sure what that is - however, I can eat cheese and yogurt with no issues whatsoever. Like the new Avatar Daisy - much better than the one we worked up for you!
  23. I seriously doubt that there documented published proof that oversewing causes infection - I doubt that Dr. Aceves and so many other surgeons would oversew if there was documented evidence to this effect.
  24. Oh Mac ... I love Chevys ... all of them in Las Vegas closed down :-(
  25. That's great news Susan -- now you're on the down hill side ... how fun!
