Glad to hear you're doing well - and that neither of you were injured in the car accident. Cars are replaceable, people are not!
-
Tell him to send you to Las Vegas and you can clean mine! LOL
-
Snates - thanks for posting and letting us know how you're doing - day 2 for me was the worst, afer that it was all eas(ier) going! You will do great - just stay the course - and keep us posted.
-
Aw thanks, but I really don't suffer too much anymore - I've figured out how to work around it and as long as I don't do something stupid, I don't have too many problems anymore -- hopefully with time your spasms will go away too!
-
Interesting, I will have to check it out - sounds interesting - might be a nice alternative now and again. Thanks:biggrin0:

Iwillbethin - WELCOME to the forum. We are so happy to have another member and I'm glad to hear that reading this post has helped you. Don't be down on yourself - if you stick with a sensible eating plan and get in plenty of Fluid, your body will start dropping the weight again. Something else you should do - take your measurements - there are weeks when I may not lose anything - however, I always seem to lose inches somewhere -- that is an incentive to see the tape measure moving when the scale isn't! -
Okay, new weekend, new questions: 1) Weekend plans? Deep Pit Posse Party - started last night - runs through tomorrow. Ruthi is in town too! 2) Beatles: Overrated or Musical Geniuses? IMO - musical geniuses 3) Name something positive that happened to you this week. My boss came back from vacation and said to me "Look at you getting all skinny!" 4) Do you like your job? LOVE my job, can't stand my new office companion; however, working on getting that changed.

cramping too -- it's not fun and carolyn is right DEFINITELY not worth the milk -
Nancy - if you go up to the chat "button" and then RIGHT CLICK on your mouse and select "Open in new window" it will open chat in a separate window and then you can still have the forum opened and go back and forth between the two without getting logged out of either. Hope this helps! I'll get to the chat room again one of these nights~!

Never heard of it - what exactly is it and what brought this post on? Can you post a picture or a link?

Nexium/maybe important information about taking it.
Malaika replied to Jaffa's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Thanks for the heads up Steve (was wondering where you've been hiding). I take my prilosec in the morning before leaving for work; however, it doesn't seem to be doing the job, as I generally end up having to take some Zantac during the day, too. I am taking 40 mg. so maybe I need more? I don't know - will talk to my PCP when I see him on 10/15 for my blood test results. -
anyone have info on Dr Guillermo Alvarez in Piedras Negras?

I'm hesitant these days to try anything with milk in it since I seem to be so lactose intolerant. SO happy you found something you like! -
Listen up Public: I did not have a bypass!
Malaika replied to DownInSocal's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Bearded and I get the same thing when we tell anyone about our surgery ... "Oh, you had a bybass?" "NO." "Oh, so you had the band?" "NO" ... well what else is there? So we explain it to them -Bearded had to explain it to his PCP and his cardiologist -- his cardiologist was EXTREMELY interested and asked for all kinds of information and for information on Dr. Aceves as he has patients who need different types of surgery and he said he would never refer anyone to surgeons in Las Vegas -- he refers them to Utah, California - so he may be referring patients to Mexicali for weight loss. So we just keep trying to educate people - although I'm not so sure they really pay that much attention. -
I, personally, think that is a terrible idea. The idea of the sleeve is to be able to eat normal, just less. You need to eat more than unjury and salads -- you need to be sure to get in your protein and limit your carbs and get in your fluids, and your weight will begin to come off again -- even possibly 10 lbs. by 10/31. I agree with Tiff - do it right the first time, and you won't have to take it off twice. Good luck to you.

I'm Fixin' To Be Sleeved!!!!!
Malaika replied to thinoneday's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Well, actually, it IS on a Tuesday -- so who knows. Thank you for the kind words, I'm hoping to keep up the pace! I'll look forward to seeing your pics and progress too when the time comes! Well, I've lived in the US my entire life; however, my cousin is married to a Canadian and I spent a lot of time around him - and I dated a guy from Canada for 2 years - so I say "eh" A LOT! LOL -
Dr. Aceves says 6 weeks and then you can exercise as tolerated. (Gonna have to get that list of classes from you - maybe we can go together!)
-
Guessing you're referring to the spasming? I already saw Dr. Aceves for it - it is something that happens in like 1% of people who have the sleeve - may be because I had a hiatal hernia repaired - he said it should dissipate by 6 months -- it's getting better but really cold still sets it off and if I don't do warm first in the morning, anything else will set it off ... just have to have patience ... (not something I have alot of sometimes)

Waiting! Getting closer to having my VSG surgery!

MtnLover- great news on the negative test -- hang in there, the rest will come - God always provides. I hope you get to feeling better; hopefully just a bug and it will move along soon - get plenty of rest and drink lots of fluids -- try some theraflu, too, I hear it works wonders! -
