    NSV shout outs

Mine is from the date of my surgery.
  2. I am on Prilosec 1X a day. You can always get the OTC if they won't give you any more refills - I know we're s'pose to be on it for at least 3 months; however, I still have issues so I still take it. As for the anti-nauseau - that hasn't been a problem for me unless I overeat or something gets stuck or I drink - but just for no reason, I haven't had an issue and I wouldn't take anything for it anyway unless I was throwing up constantly and it wouldn't stop. There's no reason to continue to see your surgeon - start going to your PCP - if he knows you've had the surgery, he can take care of you - that is who I have been seeing since my surgery.

I thought she was sleeved; however wondered if something had happened and she'd changed her mind. Too funny SoCal on the Lortab!

Hi Pattan I have never used BridgeHealth so cannot answer your question; however, I see that you are new to the forum and wanted to welcome you to our "family." We hope you find what you are looking for here in the way of answers and support.

    Whatcha' Eating?

So you had a bad day - acknowledge it and move on - don't let it ruin all the good work you've done! :lol0::thumbup1: on admitting you've been at Starbucks! LOL

    I think I'm convinced....

Carolyn - The angels are flying with you and God will be guiding your surgeon's hands ... we'll be looking forward to hearing from you when you're up to posting!

    The EVIL 3 WEEK STALL

Shanda .... just wash that thought right out of your mind - you know it's working - you're just at temporary loss - it's only water gain - so let it go!

    Any other Canadians out there?

Susan - Apparently becoming lactose intolerant is a side effect of the surgery -- I was slightly that way before the surgery; but since the surgery - oh man - it's bad... about the only thing I'm able to eat that I don't have problems with that involves dairy is cheese ... I don't really care all that much for milk; however it would be nice to be able to have cream soups now and again. I don't know if this will pass with time or not - I'm 4 months out and it hasn't changed yet.:thumbup1:
  12. Lorden - Welcome to our site, we're happy to have you as a member of the family. I can't answer any questions about Kaiser; however, I know there are members on here who have Kaiser and they may be able to help you. Take care and keep us posted on your progress. We're here for you!

Kiki - were you banded? or Sleeved?
  14. Hi JoAnne Here is contact information for Nina, one of Dr. Aceves coordinator's - the number goes directly to the office where she is located. Nina Eguia Patient Coordinator, Dr. Aceves 1888 344 3916 cell 760 646 1828 nina@mexicalibariatirccenter.com My price was $9500 - that was all inclusive w/o traveling expenses, and also included repair of a hiatal hernia. (If Dr. Aceves finds something wrong while he's in 'there' then he'll fix it or remove it (i.e. bad gallbladder, appendix) at no extra charge. We live in LV so we drove instead of flying. Generally SW has pretty good deals into San Diego though, so you might check them out -- Ernesto will pick you up there.

I am not sure where to post this question...

I'm sure you won't be the first, plus they are working on your stomach, not your female organs, so it shouldn't create any issues with regard to the surgery itself.
  16. Congrats Helen and AJW ... I have 8 lbs. to onderland - hoping to hit it before the end of the month ... but not stressing over it if I don't ...

    Whatcha' Eating?

Poached eggs seem to go down easy; however, scrambled eggs not so great. Many sleevers have posted that they tried scrambled eggs without much luck. I'm not sure why that is, but I know it from personal experience. Someone posted that egg beaters seemed to go down easy (and easier than scrambled eggs) They are a great source of protein; however, I generally don't have time to make them in the morning before leaving for work.

    desperate and afraid

Everyone here is in the same boat - if we could have done it on our own and KEPT it off, we wouldn't need the surgery -- WLS is not the magic pill - it is a tool to help you lose your weight and keep it off - but you have to work with the tool in order for it to work. You will feel full and satisfied on the small amount you are able to eat. Hopefully I have answered some of your questions and I am sure others here will share their stories as well. Keep us posted on your decision and ask any questions you have - we will always answer them for you. Again, welcome!
  19. AK welcome to VST. We are very happy to have you join us. I can't answer your questions about breastfeeding, because I'm way past that stage. I also never had the band; however, I know that several here have revised from band to sleeve and have had it done all in one surgery. I am sure they will chime in on information for you with regard to this matter.
  20. AWESOME -- I can't wait to get there ... it's coming ... slowly, but it's coming!!!!

    Explain this to me

Thanks for the compliments Ruthi - you're too sweet. I had Bearded take some pics of me tonight in an outfit I wore to work today - once he downloads them off the camera I will post them ... I will also take some of him next time I can get him to put his clothes on! LOL We had a great weekend, too, and OF COURSE we'll do it again and again!!! We miss you too!
  22. Chancie OF COURSE we feel the same way - you're a GREAT inspiration to so many and have an upbeat and helpful attitude. Glad you feel at home here -- I feel the same way - I don't go anywhere else!

    Sweet and Spicy Salmon

Chancie - SOUNDS DIVINE -- Bearded and I both love Salmon and I have some in the freezer -- have a feeling I'm going to have a long grocery list this weekend, but variety will be nice for a change. Thanks!

    The Perfect Storm

Samantha - Thank you for sharing your story and I hope you are on the road to recovery. What an awful thing to have had to go through - I hope by your sharing your experience that others will be more aware of what their body is telling them. Keep us posted on your progress, please.
