I have got to invest in a good sports bra, but I don't have a clue where to start. My regular bra size is 46D. I've not been able to find a bra with enough support for working out hard. What bra do you ladies use?

I want one of those sparkly names for the September bandsters!
-
I didn't have them for my lapband surgery, but in the past, I've always been told to leave them on. I was told that as your skin heals, it will let go of the strips.
-
Add me in!!! Starting Monday, I'll be out of town (no internet) for two weeks, but I'll check in when I get back!

Your starting weight is the weight you were YESTERDAY the 1st day of the new year. This challenge is only going to track this years weight loss. So I changed your stats to match. Now when you need to change your current weight just quote the last person to post, and change your stats, erase the quote markers and post. Should work. I also added a to go column, because I forgot it yesterday. Thanks all and good luck!

I feel like a huge disaster I let down myself and im disgusted.
Dana36 replied to ashleyb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use the leslie sansone walk at home, and the biggest loser 30 day shred videos at home. These will help you get your metabolism back where it needs to be. You need to make the decision if you want to do this, or not.. don't let any junk food, sliders into your home. They aren't healthy for you or your child, so just ban them from your home. Mare sure and keep plenty of liquids with you... drink before you eat, see if you are really hungry or are thirsty. You still have 3 months before your husband comes home. You can make huge strides in 3 months!!! You can do this!! -
What weight to start from?
Dana36 replied to flychica's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I, and my surgeon, use my consultation weight. -
I was banded in September, and I don't go to the gym... I'm just not comfortable with it yet and I don't have the extra money. I do work out just about every night when I get home from work though. I started out with this Leslie Sansone walking video that I found on youtube: Then I bought a few extra videos of hers that had more miles and more intense work outs. I also have Jillian Michaels' 20 day shred video. I have a kickboxing video (don't really like it too much.. I don't feel that I have enough balance for it), and a kettle bell workout. I have hand weights, kettle bells, resistance bands, etc.. at home. My go wear fit band says that when I walk Leslie's 3 mile power walk, I burn over 400 calories. I go all out, work my butt off because I'm comfortable in my home. I think I would be more refined if I were in a gym or thought that people were watching me.

I agree with the previous poster, check out youtube, there are a ton of kettlebell exercise routines on there! But do start out slow, 10 minutes with a kettlebell will feel like an hour of other exercise.

Good Job!!!!! I was so happy when the scale had went down to a number I hadn't seen in years the other day that I made my husband come and look at it LOL

How did you feel 2 weeks after surgery?
Dana36 replied to bostonmomma's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't really have any pain except around my port area. We had to fight an infection there. I was still very weak. I originally planned on taking 1 week off of work, but I was just too weak to make the long commute by myself. I was still on liquids at that point, and it would only take about 2 ounces of liquids to make me feel stuffed. Hunger was NOT a problem. -
I had that funny feeling on my left side when I would lay down for about 2 months, then it just suddenly went away. It is normal to have pain when you overeat, that is why as soon as you start to feel full, you need to stop eating. You don't want to put too much pressure on the band in the beginning. I get a tight sensation in my chest and I know if I take one more bite, I'm going to either be in pain or throw up.

Disney World on 2nd week of Post-OP Liquid Diet?
Dana36 replied to Excited4Change's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love disney!! It is truly my 'happy place'. You will be able to get around the on the liquid stuff... there are tons of places in disney with Soups. Also, take Protein powders (like special k) and add into the bottle waters. My biggest concern would be your stamina. You will probably need to tell your friend that you have had some kind of surgery (maybe hernia repair), so that he will understand that you will need rest and breaks often. -
I am going to zoom right on past my December Goal. So, I am going to up my January goal by another 10 miles. That will be 40 miles for January. I won't be in town for the first two weeks in January, so I will update my totals when I get back.

Unexpected feelings after LapBand..anyone else?
Dana36 replied to dementedfrog83's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Okay.. I'm going to say some stuff that might hurt your feelings.. probably as bad as what you said hurt other people on here, but here it is. According to your ticker, you've had your band 19 days. Less than a month. You've lost 18 pounds, which is amazing, and I'm proud of you.... but you are still morbidly obese. You have a long, long road ahead of you where there will be bumps and ditches that will throw you off track and frustrate you. You have found a tool that will assist you in gaining control of your life, but it is by no means a cure all, it is still going to take work on your part. So, when you look at those stinky, lazy, fat slobs.. think to yourself, "I wonder if that is how other people still perceive me since I am still at the beginning of my weight loss journey?" -
How is everyone doing? How is the weight loss coming? I've only had one fill, but am still losing slow but sure, so I'm going to hold off on another one. I find that I am becoming addicted to exercise. I've been doing the leslie sansone walking the weight off dvds. I've also just started the couch to 5k training... when I came home today, I told my husband that you never know how fat you are until you try to run! So, how is everyone doing??
-
You know, I never asked my dr what size band I have.. All I know is it is the AP band?? So, whatever size that is. I don't have a body bugg, but I have a go wear fit band (basically the same thing). I LOVE IT. I have been really working hard doing the Leslie Sansone walk away the miles, kettlebells and Jillian Micheals' 30 day shred. I love seeing how many calories I can burn during a workout. It keeps me motivated. Tonight, I did Leslie's 4 mile super challenge and burned 533 calories in an hour!
-
Sorry it has taken me a while to get back here. I've been so busy though the holidays. I am at 2cc's in my band. I've not gone back for a second fill yet. With exercise, the weight seems to continue to slowly come off at about 1.5 - 2 pounds a week. So, I want to wait until it slows down before I get anymore Fluid. My dr said that I had a lot of fat on my stomach, so until that is gone, I'll not need as much fluid as someone who doesn't have fat on their stomach.

My husband is awesome! Hooray for helpful spouses!
Dana36 replied to voodoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My husband is a saint! I tell you, I was so sick after surgery, I had to have phenegran suppositories.. he even put them in for me LOL LOL! He is my biggest cheerleader. He has started charting all of his food just like i do, and he's even lost about 20 pounds! I couldn't have done it without him, and will be forever grateful to him for his love and support. -
What is the shoulder pain help!
Dana36 replied to Shayleen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Very good explanation! OP, I used a heating pad on my shoulder, it helped a lot. -
Women-period problems post surgery?
Dana36 replied to critterlady's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Did they give you a blood thinner for your surgery? When they gave me one at the hospital, they said it could make my next period start earlier and be heavier than normal. I'm 3 months out from surgery and my periods are normal now. The first month was really heavy though. -
For about a month now, I've been exercising religiously.. I am 3 months out from my surgery. I started with walking, doing the walk at home videos, and moved up to add other things to it. I still do the walk at home video every night (different distance depending on my mood) and then do another work out with it. I use resistance bands for my lower body, Kettlebells for my arms, kickboxing, and I've just started the Jillian Micheals' 30 day shred. It is pretty intense for someone just starting out, but I do feel much better. In the month, I've noticed that my skin seems to be tightening up some.. I guess it is the toning that is going on under the skin. I'm starting to see some muscles peeking out from under the fat. I feel 100% better. I rest better at night and I have more energy during the day. It is going to be a complete addition to my new lifestyle. I spent the first 37 years of my life being fat and lazy.. I'm over it.. now I want to spend the next 37 years fit and active.
-
I just finished day one! I feel like I've been beat up LOL! I find it extremely difficult to do the jumping jacks and jump rope moves.. but just did the best that I could. What size weights do you all use for it?
-
I agree, either get up 30 minutes early or go to bed 30 minutes late. I have never, ever exercised until after I had my surgery 3 months ago, but now i actually look forward to it. I use the leslie sansone walk away the pounds dvds, kettlebells, and kick boxing. I'm not great at kickboxing, but it is fun!

How long did you take off work?
Dana36 replied to brat7169's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I took 2 weeks off. I was sick the first few days after surgery, and then I was just weak. I didn't want to drive an hour each way, I just didn't feel like I had the energy. I was lucky that I had plenty of sick time saved up. My husband took one week off to help me.
