  5. Dont Give up!! I know its not always an easy road but belive me it is well worth it , it is one of the best things i could have ever done for my self. One thing ive learned is this is not a quick fix it a total change of life. lots of learning you wont reget it !! Good luck to you
  6. Hi there... I bet you've heard this before but you may not be eating right. When i got banded, i had the same problem. I had ALOT of learning to do and eating was one of them. 8oz was my max. Try buying one of those baby plates with the lil sections and even a baby fork . Taking smaller bites helps. Oh red meats and any doughy foods dont always agree with your band. Ive learned that everyone is different though, i can still eat small portions of rice some cant. well goodluck to you , just rememebr its all about change!!!
  7. At this point i think i would have gotten the bypass.i was banded in sept 16'09. The only reason i got the band is because it was reversable. i didnt plan to lose my insurance so now i have to pay my fills out of pocket $150.00 and to top it off my damm port flipped upside down and thats another 5000.00 more that i have to come up with. if i dont get it fixed i would have gotten the band for nothing. also i cant still eat hings i shouldnt. i need restriction .. at times i do wish i could go back and get the bypass.
  8. hello all i am not logged in i long time !! well i finally got banded and am now 80lbs thinner! i found a new love and its ME! i'll post pics pretty soon

  10. Ok so i completed my six month pre op diet plan that was required by my insurance(BCBS). I saw my nutrishionist every month and was successful , i lost 32lbs. But now that i am just waiting for an answer from the insurance. i feel like i lost my will power, i dont feel as motivated. I dont want to fail. What shall i do?? Its like i need that support.
  11. I am in San antronio, I went with South Texas Surgeons. I was told there were #1 in lap band . The staff is not the greatest but i do like the doctor. My doc is doctor Gerald Carcamo. He works with Dr Keneth Wright, he is a sweet man. The cost of the procedure is 15,000. God luck to you, i wish you the best!!

    bcbs alabama???

I have BCBS of alabama. I had to do a six month pre op diet. which included 6 nutrishionst vist, lose 10% of my body weight and mental health vist..lol ( thankfully i wasnt crazy). I started in January 09' . my final vist was on the 2nd of this month. My doc also requested a Barium swallow and a upper endoscopy  (not fun). I was told some doc's require a cario work. thankfully i did not need one. So other than that am just waiting for a responcefrom the insurance. Good luck to you!!!
  13. Hi, I am waiting for an approval for my surgery. I was told my my doc that two weeks before surgery i would have to begin a protein shake diet. Now he does offer them there at the office but they are about 120.oo and i just dont want to spend that much. I've been shopping around at GNC, ther are so many protein powers. can anyone tell me which one to buy?? What about WHeY designer protein? any advise will help. Thanks:thumbup:
  14. My insurance required a 6 month plan as well. (BCBS). i thought it was bull at first but it was really helpful. i was told they do that so to prepare you for the changes to come. For me , i have learned to eat slower and take smaller bites as you would with the band. through ou the six months, my nutriionst weaned me off carbs. so pretty much i was put on the atkins diet.. it was been a slow process. but in 5 months i am 29 lbs lighter!! Good luck to you.!!!

    HELP.....at a stand still????

I stated in 01/09 my doc told me i had to lose 10% of my body weight. which was 32 lbs. As of yesterday i have lost 29lbs. i dont do the shakes yet. i will soon(not by choice) but what i did was learn to eat breakfat, it really inmportant, and cut out everything "white" flour, sugar, bread etc. dont get me wrong, it's not easy cause those things are SOO good. I also eat lots of fruit. Believe it or not but eating more maels throught the day does help. it It keeps your metabolism moving. Most important dont forget to reward your self. Evey 5 lbs, i buy myself something. Last treat was a happy meal. Good luck on your journey. one more thing EXCERCISE, it feels really good after wards!
