Glad your home and doing well wow, it will fly by faster than you think. I am excited for you Its sneaks up quickly doesnt it My Dr didnt give me a choice, she always does it. Its no more of a nuisance than the drains. I actually used the pack to hold the drains too. I went to take out the pain pump last night. Thare are two leads. THe first one came out ok, but I was surprised how long it was, It was like 8 inches. It just kept coming. lol The second one felt like it is catching on something, so we just cut the lead and taped it to me. I will let the Dr take it out when I go Tuesday. Tami, sorry your under the weather. Hope you feel better soon -

Thanks everyone. I am feeling better day by day. The swelling sucks, but I know it will go down in time. Karey, I have a lot of moles, I think thats what your seeing. I have 3 drains and in the pic you can also see the pain pump on my right hand side. Other than the coughing, the pain has been pretty minimal. Since I stayed the extra 2 days, my post op appointment was pushed back to tuesday. I will try to post more pics towards the begining of next week -
Thanks for thinking about me. I did ok, was held in the hospital 2 extra night due to a low grade fever and low blood pressure. Very happy with the results though. I have to admit it hurts pretty bad, but it will be worth it I am sure. I have never in my life had a flat stomach, so this is very strange to see. Its interesting to see my port scar. I used to be about 5 inches above my belly button, now it is even with it. This pic is one day post op

Sorry to keep ya'll in suspense. I just got home. I was kept 2 extra days because I got a low grade fever and my blood pressure was low. I also developed a cough and head congestion which really hurts. Coughing is the worst. I won't lie and say it doesn't hurt, but I am very happy with the results Here is a pic from my cell phone 1 day post op. I will get into more detail when I feel up to it. Thanks for the concern and well wishes. Nina hope your getting better all the time -
Great question. There really isn't much you can do about the loose skin. Their are factors that contribute to it, like how long youve been obese, your age, genetics, and things like that, but there is really no external factors that help. Excersize can build muscles to replace some of the space that creates the extra skin, but no real effective. I am having a TT tomorrow, so i think I can give a good perspective. If I couldn't get a TT, I would still be extremely happy. While I don't like the extra skin, I would take that ove the fat that used to be there any day. I am healthy - I am no longer borderline diabetic, high blood pressure, or sleep apnea. I can shop for clothes at normal stores. I went from a 56' waist to a 36' waist. Hope that helps and best of luck

My PS never mentioned anything about a pain pump, so I am not sure about it. One of those questions I should have asked, but forgot. -
I agree. I used Dr Cribbins in the same practice. They are a good team. Very different personalities, but both good.

I think you would do great! Comparing your pics with others on makemeheal.com, you are in the shape than more than a couple of us are with great results. I think you may suffer from what I do. I keep thinking I am heavier than I really am because of the "skin" I see when I look in the mirror. Its Thursday now, and still have not heard fromt he anesthesiologist. I am following up today. Not real worried about it, but would like to tie up the loose ends asap. I am wishing you safe travels and a speedy recovery. If I don't see you on, we'll see you on the other side Your getting closer all the time. Sounds like we all struggle with the same things when it comes to vanity and our weight loss Tami, wishing you the best I think you hit it on the head that others may be jealous. In the end, I think it comes down to what is going to make us happy. If that is selfish and vein, then so be it. My surgery is at noon. I have to be at the hospital at 10:00 am. I will be staying one night and will post asap -

Counting down on one hand now! -
Green, I certainly respect your opinions. We have both been here a while now and your post are always well thought out and intelligent. I understand there is a vast difference between socialism and communism. Socialism is strictly economical. We will have to agree to disagree on our view of government rolls. Maybe I am the paranoid one. I have posted this before, but a quote I read a long time ago (it was on the memo pad of my pediatrician). "Any government big enought o give you everything you want is big enough to take away everything you have" I tend to beleive that.
-
And I think that's what scares me. Canada is largely a socialist country. I don't believe in that. I beleive in small government and people helping each other through charity and such. Socialism penalizes those who overachieve and do well for themselves. I am far from rich now, but would love to be someday and don't want to be penalized for it. A good example of that is the current tax refund proposal. If I read it right, individuals who make up to a certain income will receive a $600 rebate. Those who didn't make enough to pay taxes will only get $300. WTF, why are they getting any rebate. They didn't contribute anything!

I am doing well. Just thinking we are getting quiet lol. I am trying to tie things up at work so my peers won't have to do much while I am gone. Our department is splitting and moving while I am gone, so I am boxing up my office this week. That is keeping me pretty busy. The hospital and Dr have been paid. Still waiting on the anesthesiologist to call so they can get paid. Not very nervous. Just anxious. I want this over so i can start the healing process. LJM - You ready? Nina - when do you depart for France? Tami - Any word on a new date yet? Harley - Still doing well? -
I am in as well. My work schedule might make it hard and I will be layed up for a while after my TT next week. But I will keep checking this thread to see whats decided and try my best to make it.

Why is it that husbands ca'nt seem smell their own farts?
ousooner replied to crazycat's topic in Rants & Raves
because our farts don't smell????!!! LOL:lol: -
I pray she has no chance. I think she is as shady as her husband. Being a conservative republican, I don't agree with Obama either, but I think he is at least honest about his convictions and his stances (well, as much as any politician can be ) It kills me to see someone say they will or will not vote for someone based on their gender or their race. If Oprah want to endorse Obama because she beleive in his views, that is fine, but all these mindless people who say they are going to vote for him because Oprah endorses him is crazy. Just as someone would say they are voting for Hillary just because she's a woman. What about the issues. I am re-evaluating my options since my top 2 candidates have dropped out.

LJM - What a couple of days. Glad you don't have cancer. That is the most important thing. I hope everything else works out for you. Pulling for you  Tami - that really sucks. Can't believe it worked out like that. Just remember everything happens for a reason and this will too. Keep us updated, ok? -

Well, I just got my pre-ops back and everything looked great. He ran my cholesteral as an aside and it was a little off. Good cholesteral was a little low (35, should be >45) and bad cholesteral was a little high (113, should be <99) but that has nothing to do with the test for pre op. SO looks like all is a go! I feel a little better now  -
Hey guys, I just found this thread. Sounds like everyone is going good or on the road to doing good  I have kept up with some of you on another board, but miss those who I haven't "see" in a while. I reached goal in February of last year and have mmaintained pretty well. I have gained a few, but within my limits. I hover around 190 to 195. I am going for a TT a week from Monday, so I am getting pretty excited and a little nervous about that. But can't wait to see the results. I know it will be worth the pain  Keep me in your thoughts when I have surgery. Good to catch up and I promise to post here more

Not real sure about the scaring issue. A tummy tuck is where they cut from hip to hip, a LBL is where they cut all the way around and lift the front and back. Hope that helps
