Today is makes 5 months post op and I hit 100 pounds lost when I got on the scales this morning. I could not be more happy with my band! Thanks to everyone here - you have been such a great support system. I still have a ways to go, but know I will get there. My latest pictures are on my website below. Current picture was taken about 2 weeks ago.

Anyone "cured" their sleep apnea with weight loss?
ousooner replied to Northernsun's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My wife says I no longer snore. So I guess I am "cured". Go me! -
Both are fine with me. Its funny. Like others I get better steak now. Iw ould not order the better cuts of meat pre-banding because the portions weren't big enough in my opinion. Now I get better cuts because it is still more than I can eat.

Post-op: How long until you progressed to solid food?
ousooner replied to Constance's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My doctor made me wait 6 weeks for solids, but didn't make me do pre-op diet. As others have said, each doctor is different. i would follow your doctors guidelines -
BMI around 40 and excess skin?
ousooner replied to Sammysue78's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I voted for my belly, but have loose skin all over. Started a little higher at 48 BMI. I hope to have PS some day, still have plenty more to loose first. I will say though that the extra skin is well worth feeling as good as I do minus 90 pounds. Wouldn't change that for the world. My BMI is now down to 35. -
Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY
ousooner replied to DeLarla's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I took these for the Scar stages thread, but thought I would post them here too since I love this thread and have posted before. I have much less stomache hanging over the counter. Reminds me I still have a ways to go and PS in my futer -
Same as most posts here, took a shower the day I got home. I had no stitches or bandages so I don't know if that makes a difference. My doctor used skin glue and liquid bandage

I had started out thinking that PP would not be a priority, but now that I am loosing a lot, I can see where a TT is going to be necessary. I have been obese most of my life and my apron is considerable. Got a ways to go, but will definately be checking into it in the next year or so

Thanks for the encouragement. Hard to imagine I inspire others, but will gladly take that roll as so many on here have been inpiring to me. Good luck with your upcoming journey.

If you disagree with me, YOU HAVE NOT GOT A CLUE!!!!

Hope you enjoyed your one year of glory. It will be short lived. Go SOONERS! -
Yes I am hooked on reality TV in general (Survivor, Amazing Race, Treasure Hunters, Hell's Kitchen, etc) but Big Brother is at the top of the list. Hate to admit it because reality TV is kind of mindless, but count me in as a fan.

Great job!. And this is just the begining. Keep up the great work.

September already (well tomorrow)? Where does the time go?

I got bad news yesterday that I needed to find other employment after 6 1/2 years at my current job. That is the bad part. In the past, this would have been a prime time to binge eat because of depression. But the good news is that I din't. In fact, I had to make myself eat because I didn'r have an appetite. Strange but fantastic. The other good news is that I should have a better opportunity for new employment. We all know us fat people get descriminated against, but being down 80 pounds and having more confidence - I know I am going to land on my feet and do well. Just wnated to share. Kind of a bad way to find out how great it is to be banded, but I will take it.

5 incisions here.

To each their own I guess. I think it is too important to help others that may need more information. After all, if others hadn't been open with me, I would not be here today. Your right that you can never take it back - nor would I want to. Pay it forward is what I say!!!

I am very open with my surgery. I love answering questions about it. I try to be a "role model" banster I think because of my openness, several of my co-workers are getting ready to attend seminars. I want to share the joy the band has given me and hopefully help others. Just my thoughts.

Had a good week this week. Last week was a bad one. Had an allergic reaction to something I ate and was on Prednison (steroid) and didn't work out. Lost one pound. This week I am down another 5 pounds. One week at a time I guess.

Its been said several times already, but I too get put out by people who complain that they are slow loosers, but then turn around and talk about all the bad choices they make.

Oatmeal really fills me up in the mornings!
-
And speaking for the guys, loosing weight "increases" your size because of the loss of fat from around your manhood. Definately better!
-
I have not reached perfect restriction yet. I am close and and much better, but I go for my 3rd fill on Sept 1 and hope that will do it.
