I will second everyone's concern here. I was on clear liquids for a week post op and full liquids for 5 additional weeks. I know every doctor is different, but I have not heard of any Doctors being ok with a regular diet a week out. From my understanding and reading post on here and other boards, the band needs time to heal and secure in place even if you can physically eat ok.

Nothing short of amazing!:clap2:

I grew up in Broken Arrow, but live in Dallas now. My parents and brother still live in the Tulsa area so I get back pretty often. My dad was looking into getting banded in Tulsa, but after talking to me and reading up on it, he realized he wasn't ready to make the sacrifice. He is still looking for the "magic" potion to take off the weight and not have to work at it. I told him he would have to work the band and it was just a tool. He gave up on it, but is so proud and supportive of me. Good luck on your journey. Its well worth the trip.

I have not tried it. I have tried to follow my doctors post band rules very strictly. But every doctor has different rules. Things are working so well for me so far so I am scared to go outside my routine.
-
I have never PB'd. But I have never felt tight or even good restriction yet. I am loosing well so far, so I am not going to push it any further for a while.

Hi Marcy, good to see you. 40 pounds is nothing to sneeze at! Good luck with the fill.

I may be too late to add a recomendation as you may have already chosen someone. I used Dr. Cribbens ( Dr Hamms partner) I had a great experience. I went for my 4th fill a couple of weeks ago and Dr Hamm did it. They are both great and would highly recomend their office. I have friends who have used both also. The link to their website is on my homepage if your interested. Good luck.

Great job Marz!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday. This is our first year being banded. Good luck to all. I am curious how I will do with all the food around, but I think I will be fine. Everyone knows I had the surgery, so I don't think my self-conscience will let me be bad in front of everyone. I am usually at my best when I am around people because of the accountability - I planned it that way and told everyone about being banded.

I used (and still do occasionally) Isopure no-carb chocolate with water ( by itself not very good) and added in a small banana and a spoonfull of "no sugar added" peanut butter and mixed it in the blender. Very tastee and filling.

I had my surgery on a Tuesday and went back the following Monday. I could have gone back on Saturday if I worked weekends. I have a desk job, so no problems with the lifting or anything.

I feel like I can eat anything and there is no band!
ousooner replied to Betsyjane's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told not to lift 10 pounds for 6 weeks. But with the baby, I know I didn't follow that very well and had no problems. -
I have always been extremely open about my surgery. To be honest, I think it helps me make good food choices especially at work. If I am having a weak moment and feel like making a bad food choice, the fact that others know helps me pass on bad choices and helps me stay the coarse. I do worse when I am by myself because there is not that accountability. I also like helping others who might benefit from lap band. Hell, I wouldn't have gotten mine if others had not been generous enough to share there story, so I figure its my job to pay it forward. Just my 2 cents.

Drews - I am with you. I had to wait last week for my fill and the office was full because the doctor got held up in surgery. I heard several people say that they didn't understand why they weren't loosing weight and the band wasn't working very well because they could still eat anything they wanted. I kept thinking to myself that just because you can doesn't mean you should. Good luck with your interview. I started my job last week after being out of work for 2 months and I know how nerv racking it can be. Kepp us informed of how it went

Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY
ousooner replied to DeLarla's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
56 inch waist in the before - down to a 38/40 in the after pic. I started my new job last week and could never have pulled off this look with a white shirt! I still see myself as a big guy, but not miserably overweight when I see my reflection. Its funny to see my tie hang down now instead of out. -
Can you all beleive that we are at 6 months out this month? Amazing.
-
Started my new job yesterday. The only problem was lunch. There is no onsite place to eat and they ordered lunch for us - thick crust pizza:cry . I was good and just got a bottle of water and waited til I got off work to go eat. Wasn't as hard as I thought it would be to pass on the pizza. Go for my 4th fill today. Can't wait.

Besides, you know this is the reaction you were looking for when you started this thread, you didn't honestly believe everyone aggreed with you. Did you?

I am far more embarassed of Clinton and Carter. Not embarrased by Bush at all. Bush acted on intelligence he thought to be credible (as did everyone at the time)

Wow, I come to this site to get support for my weight issues and get this crappy thread. I obviously don't support the views here, but is this the site for this? I guess you all will be more happy when we become a democrat controled socialist state. Good luck with all that!!

Just wanted to give an update. After being out of work for 2 months, I start a new job on Monday. The kicker is that I will be making 10K more than I did at my last job. I will be glad to get out of the house and away fromt he refigerator all day. I think it will be great for my continued success. Also, I go for my 4th fill on Tuesday! hope to get some good restriction. Have a great weekend everyone.

Alicia, Don't get discouraged. Mine is slowing down a lot too. The closer we get to goal, the slower it will come off. Like someone told me, I didn't put the weight on overnight and it won't come off that fast either. Hang in there!

Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!
ousooner replied to Rockin' Robyn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Just hit 100 pounds last weeks. Its a great feeling! -
I went to Six Flags this weekend and have a blast. I am down enough that I was able to ride all the rides I wanted with no problems fitting. I hadn't been able to ride for some time. I was able to make good food choices. I got a smoked turket leg, took the skin off and ate a little less than half of it. Just thought I would update everyone.
