Plastic Surgery Poll
ousooner replied to sleepyjean's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
When I started this journey. I truely believed that the weight loss alone would be very satisfying and enough. But As I get closer to goal, I am having a very hard time not seeing the fat guy still. I think that I will only be truely happy when I get the "apron" romoved from my stomache area. I can live with a little extra skin on my arms and neck. but my tummy and thoghs are terrible. I hope to get them done in about a year or so. -
Hillary Clinton, First Woman President of the US. Would you vote for her?
ousooner replied to godloveshope2's topic in Rants & Raves
Vote for a female? Yes Hilary? not if my life depended on it. Only if I was interested in living in a socialist country (which I am not) I really wish J C Watts would get back in politics and run. I would vote for him in a heartbeat! -
anyone have any ideas for a tat comemorating weight loss and the band? I was think of maybe the picture of the band, like the one in the LBT logo with some verbaige. I don't know though.

Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!
ousooner replied to Rockin' Robyn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks guys. I think the key to my success so far is what I am eating. I have adheared to a strict low carb/low fat/high protien diet. I also eat until I am no longer hungry instead of eating till I am full. That is a huge difference. I am more active, but until about a month ago, I did not have an excercise routine. I joined a gym after christmas and work out abou 4 or 5 days a week. I mainly do treadmill. I am working on running a 5K for Labor day in September. I also do a little ab work on the machines. -
Janey - you are doing so good! only 15 pounds to go till goal. Thats awsome

LOL. I thought I was the only one who pulled up my fat to see what I would look like! Glad I am not the only one! :lost1.5lbs: And speaking a tats, my tribal band on my arm doesn't look bad, but its funny that if I removed the excess skin, it would connect (it is not connected on the under side of my arm)

Great job ladies! Raquetball sounds so fun. It is a great aerobic excercise.

AAAARGH!!! Thought I made my choice, but...
ousooner replied to luv2bingo07's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I had Flouruscopy done the day after surgery. My doctor wouldn't release me until it was done to make sure everything was ok before I went home. I had mine done here in Dallas. -
Good luck Puddin! Let us know how things go. I hope to follow your footsteps later this year.
-
Ok, this is hard to narrow down, but I would have to go with: 1) Halle Berry 2) Denise Richards 3) Kelly Carlson (Kimber from Nip/Tuck)
-
I think it has been stated, but for results like that, there is probably an uderlying health problem or they ate "around" the band.

I will second that Dreslou! The quality of life has increased dramatically. I had a similar experience at a Dallas Stars game on New Years Eve. -

I will just say ditto to the others. I will add this though. Once the weight starts coming off, you will have more energy and self-confident than you have ever had. It get better - much better! Hang in there. -
Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY
ousooner replied to DeLarla's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I haven't posted on this thread in a while. The current pic was taken at Thanksgiving and I have lost about 15 to 20 pounds since then. I have gone from a 56 inch waist pant to a 36 inch waist and from a 3x/4x shirt to a large. -
Great job Duckie!
-
What an awsome transformation Alicia.
-
I would say this is not a common occurence. It is probably the most common type of complication, but in the percentage of overall lap-banders, I would say it is a small number.

Are fat people unattractive and unpoluar?
ousooner replied to ted12345's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That was not your original question. Your original Quest had nothing to do with yo-yo dieting. Please refer back to the original post: Just a general question here would like your honest opinion. Are Obese people unattractive and unpoular. PS, Not my views please be reasure of that. -
This might be dificult, but not impossible. This is not a UHC issue. Your employor who the the policy is through has excluded lap-band as a way to save money for the company. They probably got a better deal by excluding certain things from their coverage.

Are fat people unattractive and unpoluar?
ousooner replied to ted12345's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree with Weetsin on this. I also agree with NGAdams. Its all how you carry yourself. I have been big all my life and yo-yo constantly loosing significant weight several times only to gain it back with interest. I think the point is that a lot of us, myself included have never enjoyed some of the pleasures in life because A) we can't physically do it, or we don't have the confidence to do it. There are certainly exceptions to that. I use myself as a perfect example. Before I was banded and at my higher weight, if I saw an attractive girl (such as checking me out at the grocery store), I would rarely make eye contact becuase I thought to myself that she must find my size disgusting. Now, I have much more confidence and I will look them in the eye and smile. So was I unattractive? Yes, because of the way I thought of myself. -
In one sentence: The best thing I've experienced since being banded is....
ousooner replied to Lap_dancer's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The best that has happened since lap band is that I can go into any store and buy clothes that fit.
