Its funny (and I mean that very respectfully) how people see things differently. I see Al as an arrogant jerk and very scary. I think he is very smart and like you said he filled a need. And the fact that he is running for Senate (I heard he was almost sure, but its not official from the last I heard) scares the life out of me Just a Hmmm moment. Thanks for your candor. -

Hi Cely - welcome. I live in Wylie, so we are neighbors! Congrats on getting banded and you are doing great. Who was your doctor? Randy gave some great info. -
Thanks Drews for the new thread 9 months, how time flies. We will have our 1 year bandiversary before we know it. Great job everyone!
-
Thanks Marz. It has been a good journey so far. I have been very blessed.

No pre-op here either and didn't do one on my own and had several "last meal" meals. :0 I had no problems at all.

I think I am the only guy May Bandster, but I just wanted to tell you girls how proud I am of you! Its awesome how well we have done as a group. Keep up the great work!

And I think this is the point that we can agree to disagree on. For those of us who belive in faith, it seems very illogical that anyone could beleive this whole thing called life could be as it is by chance and coincidence

Good to hear. Thanks for the update

Weight loss leads to need for a fill?
ousooner replied to Angelator's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I don't have anything to back that up, but I have held that theory myself. I have never had great restiction, some, but not what I would call my seet spot. With my rapid loss, I have always felt like I was chasing the proper fill. That may not make sense, but it does in my head -
Its too bad Ron couldn't see the benefits of honest, heartfelt conversation and honest debate. I like the tone this has taken. Much more productive.

Where does "can't eat this after surgery" info come from?
ousooner replied to edieparks's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think most have said it, but its a personal thing most of the time. There are certain foods that may or probably would be hard to get down, but its not that way for everyone. It also depends on what your diet cososts of post banding as well. Whether you depend on the restiction to control portions or accompany that with a particular "diet". There are certain foods I "can't" have anymore because i choose to, not because I can't with the band. -

Sorry, I will try to be better, I would never want to loose my place on the right. -

Point well taken. Not that you were impying it, but there are also those types that are democrat as well. Plus I could never be racist, I would be going against my own son who is bi-racial. My ex-wife is African American. And like a previous post you made, dispite him being half white, he will always be considered black. I don't resent that, but its a fact. -
Sunta - I obviously do not speak for Ron or anyone other than myself. From my past postings, I hope you know I am not a confrontational kind of guy. I believe you are very sincere and have great questions with your post. I am not a scholar and don't claim to be an expert on a lot of things. For me, its just a personal belief. I happen to believe the bible and in Jesus. You say the things that Jesus did are not possible. For non-believers, that would be the logical conclusion. I can promise you that it's not "a way out" to feel good about myself and my mortality and it may seem foolish to you, but my faith is genuine and very real to me. Sorry I am unable to provide solid proof other than that. Thanks.

I can see that. He is very right wing and those that aren't could be scared of him polically. I think the same of Diane Feinstein because of her extreme leftist views. Just depends on what side of the isle you stand on -

In need of some success stories
ousooner replied to Ryanband07's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
No problem. You are doing great . I think "buyer's remorse" is a frequent feeling. Its good you have the support of your husband. It takes a while for the head catch up with the stomach. Missing food is an all too real reality. So many of us have always depended on food to comfort us. Thats why we are in this position. You are in the worste part of band life: post surgery and pre fill. You can do this. As for success stories, I consider my experience so far successfull. I am down 147 pounds and life is great. Hang in there -

Very possible. Although I like his views, I don't think he could ever win because his views are very far right and not moderate enough to appeal to the majority. -
Sorry your going through this. Trying to play by the insurance company rules really sucks. I wish you the best.

I used Cribbins. It is funny how different they are. Dr Hamm did one of my fills. Dr Cribbins is the super nice, tender touch kind of doctor and Dr Hamm is as you've described him. They are great - both of them
