    Anti-Semitism In France!

The sad thing is that I consider myself a conservative Christian and I am still not Christian enough for Ron, so don't feel bad. I am just glad I have to answer to God the Father rather than god Ron.

    Goal Met

Thanks everyone! (even the OSU fan!) I am somewhat uncomfortable talking about myself, but I had to share The ironic thing is that I feel like this is the starting place for me. Time to start living a normal life. Thats sounds strange to me, but I think maintaining will be harder than the loosing. I am praying the band will be my guide in this part of my journey as well. Thanks again everyone!

    May Bandsters~February Chat!

Thanks. I wouldn't worry about the bugs. Like I said I never saw any indoors. I have never seen a Triantula but know there are some and the only scorpians I saw was when I was out in the country camping. Having your house sprayed for bugs periodically will do the trick.

I guess there are, but never saw any indoors. No storm shelter. Most of the houses in the cities don't have them. I know my parents who live in the Tulsa area recently added a safe room (more like a closet:)) I never directly experienced one or had property damage with one, but have seen the damage up close afterwards. The odds of you experienceing it are very slim.

This may the the chicken way out, but I would probably abstain from the vote. I don't condone it, but its not my job to condemn it either.

    Anti-Semitism In France!

I would rather not do private e-mail. Let me just say this. As you have stated before, God gives us free will. I am steadfast in my belief about the subject, but if someone chooses not to agree, I can't force that upon them. We all answer for our actions before God. Myself included and I am very secure in my judgement. That should be enough. Sorry if that's not "Christian" enough for you, but as I said, I am ok with that.

    Anti-Semitism In France!

Ron, I am not going to argue. I don't mind a debate, just flat out being argumentative is not my style. Just as I did with other discussions with others, we can agree to disagree. Thanks.

    Anti-Semitism In France!

Agreed. That site is very racist. talking about race wars and comparing other races and cultures as parasites. That is scary stuff!

    Anti-Semitism In France!

Ron - I am not trying to be argumentative. I don't beleive I have ever comprimised my faith. Never have I stated anything less than my beleifs and have not been swayed by others who have a different beleif. I am not ashamed of my faith or back down from it. There is difference between sharing your faith and getting in people's faces and demanding they believe as you do. That's the difference in us. Sharing is just that. Its letting people know what you beleive in and why. Its not about getting upset if others don't agree.

    Anti-Semitism In France!

First Ron, you didn't say this until I disagreed on a non-religious issue - your post which I and others found to come off as racist. The only other thing we have differed on, besides your tone, was that same sex marriages are harmful to the society as a whole, though I agree with the teachings of the bible that it is against God's plan. I don't think I am very different than many conservative Christians. I think the problem Ron is that you are trying to be a Christian martyr. You throw things out there and when people disagree, you say poor me, I am being persecuted because I am a Christian. As it has been said early on. the majority of the time it is your tone and argumentative tone that has people upset.

    having second thoughts

As everyone else has stated. Your feeling are natural. Ironically, if you read any thread about regrets, the large majority say that the only regret they have about getting lap-band is that they didn't get it done sooner. I am in that boat. I wish I hadn't missed out on my youth because of my weight. I can never get that time back. Go for it

    Cheeseburgers???

If you PB at every meal, are you getting enough calories in? If not, your body might be in starvation mode and would keep you from loosing much.

    Finding myself after weightloss

I can relate. I have been obese all my life. I am discovering a new me. I don't find it bad and in fact quite exciting. I am learning things - like what my new clothing style is now that I can actually choose what i want instead of wearing what I can find. Trying new things that I couldn't before. It is definately a discovery period. I find myself looking in the mirrow quite often see a me I have never seen before. Look at it as gaining something rather than loosing your old self. Take care and congrats!

Yes you are entitled to your opinion. That's what this board is for and I, for one, am glad you posted it. It let's us know WHO the real Ron is and where he is coming from even if it is disappointing.

    Afraid of rhe camera still?

I am just now getting comfortable with it. Its hard. I actually like the way I look in pics better than what I see when I look in the mirror. Thats odd to me. It gets better

    Drinking whilst eating

I am right there with you. I always get water and no one ever notices. When I go out with the family, we use my glass to wash the babies pacifier if he drops it

    Anyone in the DFW area?

Sorry, didn't mean to offend. I just haven't heard that not having a pre-op diet is more harmful or hurtful to the patients. Would love to see studies or facts if you have them. I say the doctor's comfort level meaning confidence level - sorry if I used the wrong verbaige) because that is my understanding some doctors prefer it because they find it easier to operate. My doctor says their is not a significant difference to warrent it. That's all I was trying to say.

    For Just Us Guys

Thank you Sean and Daniel. Glad I can help others along the way like so many did for me when I started out. I admit, I have been a little extreme about my post surgery diet. I have adheared to a very strict low carb/low fat/high protein diet. Looking at food lables, I try not to eat anything with more than 5 fats, 5 carbs, or 5 sugars per serving. I saw this in a post somewhere when I first started out and the person called it the rule of 5's. I do eat oatmeal often which is higher in carbs, but they are the good kind. I try to stay around 1000 calories per day. I have not had any fried foods, pasta, potatoes, rice, sugary food, bread, etc since the day of surgery. Most people don't like to "diet" and use the rule of eating everything in moderation and do just fine. I guess I am just impatient and wanted to loose faster. That doesn't make me better or worse in my opinion. Thats the beauty of the band, you can use it to fits your style. Hope this helps. Thanks again guys!

    Anti-Semitism In France!

I wasn't the only one who saw that in your post, keep reading. TOM and Wheetsin gave stats showing the opposite of your statements. So the fact that you say you feel safe in your white communty and not so much if you travel to not so white comminities seems racist to me. Sorry.
