hello, i not sure where you are i am in new zealand and i used optifast for pre-opp. I jus got it from a pharmacy im guessing you would be able to do the same where ever you are if they have it there. cheers

hello, I found i had the nausia the first week after getting the band in place, I put it down to the gas in the system that they pumped round the orgins when doing the operation. I was banded on 2 april 09. cheers

hi chef, Yes i slept with pillows all round myself too. and on under my tummy when i lay on my side found it stopped the feel of everything getting dragged down. lastnite was the 1st night i didnt have to use them yay. katz.

hi, I found the liquid diet is hell my stomach was touching my back bone it was so wild with me. Im in new zealand had it done here. I found i didnt get around to much on the first couple of days and the anistetic knocked me for a six all i wanted to do was sleep. But like you when i sit for a while when i get up to move im a bit stiff and tender till i take a few steps. Jus headn out shortly for a stroll round the farm and take the dogs for a walk and no dout the kitten will come with me as well. good luck happykatz

hi had band done on the 2nd. had lot of gas left in system took bout 4days for me to get rid of it going at both ends lol. swelling was about 5days but still got a bit where the port is set in and still tender. some pple seem to be able to get up and get going like nothing had happened to them at all but all i wanted to do for the first day or two after op was sleep the anistestic hit me for a six. plus i got very badly dehydrated coz i cudnt make myself drink anything. wasnt till i got home i tried stucking on ice cubes which made me feel better it was soothing. The nurses out here jus never offered that to me, so if anyone in new zealand is getting this done ask nurses for them it really does help.

hi i had mine put in 2 april and my port is jus above and left of my belly button it is uncomfortale too. still tender to lie on left side and to touch round that area. but i think is starting to settle down.

thank you all for your feed back, To be honest my surgen is very relaxed very hard to talk to hasnt really given me that much advise at all. All he said was read the paperwork that the dietian has sent you and i will see you in six weeks and off he went.:thumbup: when you pay this sort of money for the surgery you would expect the surgen to want to be a good friend to you offering plenty of advise. so as you all have said i will jus go back to the liquid for another week and mushie afta that for the two weeks. cant wait till the ajusting starts and band really does come into action.

hello this is all new to me, can anyone please tell me how long after they had there band put on did they start eating solid food again. I have had my band in for 8days now and i am starving my stomach is so angry with me that i feel ill. The optiefast and liquid diet is driving me nuts. I have no restristion of feel full feeling at all. has anyone got any sugestions for me.

thank you for that bandster hell alrite. i was naughty to night with mashed spuds so tomorrow i will pull my head back into line and get back to the fluids. Hope i havent done any damage then.

i was wondering the same thing, I got my band on april 2nd and i am hating this stage. I am starving my stomach is so angry with me that i have woken so suddenly in the mornings with hunger pains that i have started vomiting. I gave into in tonight and had some mashed potatoes for my tea. Yes i know it was wrong and have to pull my head in and go back to the fluids torrow.
