There is a doc in Bloomington, but I don't know how good he is with fills. He has a great bedside manner, though. I was only able to go to the first half of my appointment. The doc was stuck in surgery and I had to be somewhere, then a close friend died, so another wait. I have the rest of my initial appointment today (monday) at 12noon. Hi, I'm new here, duh! I am excited to see that there is a forum to discuss concerns and accomplishments with the lap-band procedure. Tomorrow is my first consultation with a surgeon. The possibility of being thin again astounds me. I have been severely to morbidly obese since the birth of my first child 17 (almost 18) years ago. I have tried everything to lose weight. I just don't want to sabotage myself with this just like with every other "diet." I don't want to "mess up" my band. I feel extremely motivated right now. I just want to meet you all and pick your brains about what you have gone through, what you are going through, and how you all deal with everything. Bless you all. I look forward to meeting you.

Yes, I do think my insurance will pay for the procedure. The office person I spoke with took my insurance info and precertified me then called me back. The doctor who will be doing the surgery has performed about one hundred of these surgeries, and the insurance I have has paid for some. I just have to jump through all of the hoops prior to the surgery and then "bombs away:laser: !" I'm really glad I can get some opinions, questions, and ideas from this forum. It's good to meet you all.

This is my version of my lap-band experience. Tomorrow, 6/19/06, I go to see Dr. Brad Ray for my first appointment in my journey to have a lap-band procedure. I am very excited, but apprehensive. The positives definitely outweigh the negatives right now, but we'll see. I just want to change my life for the better so not only can I have a life, but a more improved life, to be around for my grandchildren, not just my children. Current weight: 278 Goal: 135 Height: 5'5" Weight to lose: 143
