I just went through all of my cabinets and got rid if of EVERYTHING I can’t use. I wish I had taken before pictures. There was sooooo much in there that I didn’t even know I had! Lol. Lots of expired stuff too 🤷🏻♀️. I ended up with a big box of donations stuff and two garbage bags worth of junk to throw away. My fridge is next. I’m too tired to tackle it right now though!

Are you talking about Dogmom68?

I bought one of those too! I bought one that is for 32 days I found on Amazon! So I can fill it up once a month and just grab what I need and go. I have been using it for the past 3 weeks and its worked wonderfully! I’ve been watching a ton of videos too. Sadly I’m more of a food assembler than a cook. I can put together a mean sandwich! Lol. So I want to try to make some of things I’ve seen like the Ricotta bakes, at some point but honestly I’m a little intimidated by that. Lol. 😰

Oh wow guys! This is it. The last we weekend before we go into our surgery month! To those of you who are going in the first half of the month, best of luck. I can’t wait to hear about your successes (and to commiserate with you if you need it at any point)! For those of us in the 2nd half of the countdown, we’re almost there! So excited/nervous. This weekend I’m doing a kitchen overhaul/purge. Going to donate all the food I can no longer have so that my kitchen is clean and only full of the things that will bring me success. Anyone else doing anything specific to prep? Eeek. I feel like squealing! Lol

I got the Barimelts! I finally bit the bullet and just ordered! Thanks for the suggestion:)

Welcome! Do you have a pre-op diet you’re on? Are you excited?
-
Good luck! Hope it all turns out well and that you have an easy and speedy recovery!

Oh my goodness. The ONLY thing I remember about the Minnesota State Fair is the delicious food! My heart goes out to you. But you can do this! Just keep moving through it and if you can’t skip it (which would probably be the easiest thing) then make sure you pack your water and maybe bring a shake with you! These pre-op diets are so different! I’m surprised you get orange juice. You’re the first person I’ve seen mention that, as part of their pre-op. Maybe you can also pack a little container of orange juice as well. Instead if a purse just carry a little lunch tote w/ ice packs to keep it all cool. Minnesota in August is HOT! I know I did the liquid diet when I got my band put in, but its been over 10 years since then, so I don’t remember how I made it through. I’m praying for you and hope it goes smoother than you imagine.

My revision to sleeve is happening 8/22 and this is one of my fears. I know I can do it because I’ve done it before but I am still so nervous about it. I hope your got through it ok. And that your surgery went well.

Guys, have any of you already purchase bariatric specific vitamins? Right now I'm taking Centrum women's 1 a day and a different brand D3 and B12. I have deficiencies in both. But my doctor said no to the Centrum...I like gummies because I have a hard time swallowing the larger pills. Any suggestions?

Awww. So sorry to hear that! I was hoping at least one of us got it!
-
So sorry your date was changed but it’s great that you are choosing such a positive outlook! 🤗 I’m sure the change is what was best so it represents you having the best and safest experience! 👍🏻

Hi! Hopefully they will. I tried to do it as well but my surgeon was fully booked and had no openings at all. 🤷🏻♀️ Have you already had your band removed or will they be doing both at the same time?

What’s your pre-op weight goal? Is this something the doctor asks for or something you want? How is it determined? (I have so many questions. Lol. Sorry!) My diet is all liquids with only 1 Greek yogurt,1 egg or 1 jello a day allowed (as a non-liquid) so I keep going back and forth on starting 1 week early.

Hi @Caybot! Thank you so much for the offer. I would really love that!

You are not alone! I fear that tremendously. I am having revision surgery, which means I’ve been here before (or something like this) and I lost over 130 lbs from my highest weight and have gained a ton of it back. Now my gain was pretty much due to the pandemic/getting COVID but I gained it none-the-less. I will say I personally am preparing for this surgery in a way I never could the first time around. These many resources did not exist when I got my lapband. But I joined this app/group for support and if we’re not supporting each other even through our worries and fears how supportive are we really being? So know you’re not alone or being overly negative, you can’t work through your fears if you don’t acknowledge them! And, you can make this work, it’s possible. And I believe it will happen for me, so there’s no reason for you to not believe it will happen for you. There’s nothing particularly special about those who succeed beyond their determination to use their tool and make themselves succeed.

My surgery is not until 8/22/22 and I wanted to try out the liquid diet to see how it goes and maybe start some light exercising to get my body ready. A PA at my surgeon’s office told me to be careful and consider not doing that because if I did lose too much weight before surgery my insurance could rescind my approval. Anyone else heard of this? Should I get a second opinion? It’s not like I’m going to lose 100 lbs pre-surgery. For reference I’m 5’8/280/42.6 BMI and I have hypertension and PCOS (although I don’t think my insurance takes PCOS into consideration).

I’m going to look Dr. A up! I’ve watched a couple of videos by a guy named DR. Voung (I may be misspelling it) he’s a bit harsh, lol, but interesting to listen to. He certainly keeps it real. 🤷🏻♀️ I like Kelsi Danielle❤️. I’ve watched almost all of her videos, as well as Karen Sandiego and Erin Branscom.

Hi Nicole! You taught me something new! I had no idea you could see people’s start weights and info! Lol. Clearly I don’t click on enough links and stuff. 😊 Congratulations on finding a way to get your surgery! I’m guessing if you post about something specific about it you could probably find others closer to your start weight if you’re looking to ask questions or chat with people! But you’ve found a crew right here even if you don’t!! 🤗.

I’ve been watching so many YouTube videos but I don’t know anymore if they are just making me or less anxious for the day to come and to have my surgery.
-
Yes!! OMG! You said it exactly! I just want this next stage to start!

Hi! We’re surgery twins! My surgery is also scheduled for the 22nd! Super excited/nervous about it!

Lap band Revision to GSV- painful open wound
karakent replied to JFizzle's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I had my band removed in 6/21 but didn’t have that experience. Are you still feeling that or has it gone away? I know it’s been weeks since you posted. I hope you’re doing better. When is you VSG scheduled for? -
Getting closer… timeline question
karakent replied to LookingForward22's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Once I finished my last test, and got my results, my paperwork was sent to my insurance. Approval took about a week or so and THEN I got the call to schedule. No point in scheduling if insurance said no they said. Not that I was worried, I also had a strong belief my insurance would cover it. I am having a revision so the first surgery was scheduled for maybe 4 weeks (a month) after that. I’m an educator like your husband and also had to consider my schedule. I think once everything is in order it will go quickly for you, especially if the team you are going to has several surgeons to choose from. -
I wanted to do something like this but one of the PA’s at my doctors office told me that my BMI could drop too low and my insurance could then rescind my approval. I feel like my BMI is high enough though that I could lose 20 or so and still have a high enough BMI. I’m 5’8/280lbs/42.6 BMI. I also have hypertension. I also bought baby food jars and smaller utensils. Lol.
