Ok three votes for Awesome Augusts. Who is having surgery today anyone know? I can't dig through the forum cus I am supposed to be working. I wish we had a calendar for people to put their dates on.

Transformed into something non-human is the perfect word for it. I had another meltdown this weekend. My husband just looked at me again which makes me even more mad at the moment. He stood there telling me he loved me while I ran around like an idiot and threw a temper tantrum over frozen yogurt. Needless to say I broke a nail in my fit, there was melted frozen yogurt on all over one wall of my kitchen (from where I threw it, even this fish tank got some in it), I broke a cermaic spoon rest from throwing the top of the garbage can on the counter, I broke the top of the garbage can outside, and the front door does not close properly now :clap2: I am so lucky to married to a wonderful man who duitfully hellped me clean up my mess while I sat quivering in tears. Never again will I stop mid pack. Oh did I mention I am bleeding like a stuck pig?

I like Awesome Augusts too. So that is two votes for awesome Augusts. MORE VOTES! I know there are at least what 10 other Auggies on here? Vegas I found this on the lap band site: Glitter Graphics | Glitter Text | Myspace Glitter Text Graphics | GlitterTextGraphics.com Apparently this is where you go to "pimp" it up. GlitterMaker.com - Glitter Graphics - Free Glitter Graphics - MySpace Glitter Graphics This is full of pop ups but not so pimpy.

Sorry if below is TMI: Let's recap for any reading later After stopping Yaz Birth Control pills mid pack because my surgeon told me I had to be off for 30 days before surgery: 24 hours: Felt fine. This will be no problem I am thinking. 48 hours: Massive headache bordering on a migrane. Only had 1 in my life. 56 hours: Feeling like a bad period coming on. All the worse symptoms that I get a few days before my period. 72 hours: All heck breaks loose: Headache, food cravings, backache, neck hurts, cramps, tired, very grouchy, crying, sudden depression, wishing I could have a cig (quit a year ago). 78 hours: Started flow, heavy and worse cramps I have had in years. Sick to my stomach, tired. Moral of the story. Plan, plan, plan. If you are taking the pill right now talk with your surgeon about a time frame to stop so you don't have to stop in middle of a pack.

My husband had this done and he had twilight anesth for it. Did you ask if you will be out for it? Make them give you something! I am thinking a double dose of Valium, Xanax, or Ativan will fix you right up.

Ok I had a total emotional meltdown this morning with my husband. I yelled at him and slammed doors which I NEVER do. He just stood there looking at me because he had a feeling it was going off the pills so sudenly that was causing my sudden change in mood. Of course him looking at me made me even more mad. Poor guy. I feel like I am having a dry run of a period. Cramps, low back hurts, neck hurts, major headache. This sucks. Advice to those who come after me. Ask early on if they want you to stop your birth control pills and plan to stop at the end of a pack. :001_tongue: Watch out for me today. And that doctor better watch out too if he knows what is good for him today. After surgery I am going to campaign to go back on them.

My hands and wrists get itchy when I am stressed, then I get these weird "spots" It is like a round piece of skin about the size of a used pencil tip that seperates from the skin below. So it kind of looks like a small dry blister. I asked my doctor about it once and he called it a fancy name that I can't remember. It is a cousin to hives but more surface than lower in the skin like hives. I get hives too when I am really upset and crying. They start on my cheeks and move down my chest. That is when my hands itch too. I am wondering if you are getting deep hives from the stress your body has been under?

Some are clueless

I know I am a food addict because I have been having dreams about food and eating since I started the intense dieting to lose the required weight before surgery. They come less often now though. When I quit smoking it was the same way. I dreamed about cigs. Now I only dream about smoking when I am really stressed out. -
I can't be bothered with reality shows. I only watch Amazing Race. Other than that I like Discovery, National Geographic, or History Channel. IMHO most of what is on the major networks is crud. I like to feed my brain if I am going to watch the tube. Oh I can't forget A&E, First 48!

Good stuff about the medic alert. I am going to think about it.

Is that you in your avi? You don't even look like you need WLS! You are so pretty. Umm may I ask about bathroom issues? Of course you don't have to say but others may be having the same problems. It might make them feel better if they are not alone. -
3 weeks out and eating everything in site

I agree. Let's not throw around accusations. Sometimes I can't get back here for days and days. I do have a family and life that takes priority. If this person is reading this and you have gained 16 lbs in a week YOU NEED TO GO TO THE DR. I talked with mother who has been a nurse for 30 years. This much gain is a medical emergency. Your body can not handle what is probably Water weight in such a short period of time. You are at risk for a heart attack. Please seek care. -
Anyone experience long bouts of nausea?
DownInSocal replied to Ruthi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I second that you need to get a new doctor. If she is blowing you off just because you sought treatment in Mexico she is not a good doctor. She also should have looked at your incisions, esp if you are not feeling well, I mean hello? What if you had nasty looking incisions and needed antibiotics fast? -
Ok guys we are going to choose a name here, mostly because I want to do a sparkly thing like they used to do on lap band talk. Alluring Augusts Ambitious Augusts Amorous Augusts Aspiring Augusts Avid Augusts Astounding Augusts Awesome Augusts Don't rob me of my sparkly thing! Who wants one with me?

It was my surgeon that told me. He stated my stomach will have a different emptying time now and the pill must remain a certain length of time in the stomach to be effective. To be honest I think he is more worried about blood clots. I had already been warned by my primary doctor that my time on the pill was limited due to age and hypertension. Like I said I am not worried about a baby showing up just stopping in middle of a pack. I wrote this post this morning when I felt fine. Now I feel like my period is coming on. Ugh. I just had one two weeks ago.

I am two hours from when I have to leave for my Pre-Op appointment. I am about to have a panic attack too. I should have brought an Ativan with me to work today. I have been switched around to so many different surgeons (that is what happens in the Navy system when deployments are happening) that I have not even met this Dr. that will do my surgery. I will meet him for the first time today. He has great reviews and is well known and published so I don't have anything to worry about. There has been drama just trying to get a Pre-Op date due to no fault of my own. Too long of a story but it has made me worried about what else could happen. Also I have had to keep weight off for 6 weeks now. If I gained so much as a pound for this pre-op or surgery date I can't have surgery until I "comply". It has been very stressful. I am also worried about the finality of having part of my stomach cut out. I can never go back like you kind of can with the band. It is forever. Just wanted to vent and cry. I will post more after my Pre-Op.

Yikes! I have not had surgery yet but I am very worried about you. I am worried you are going to cause a leak in your staple line. I am also worried about such a rapid weight gain. Could it be retained fluids you are gaining? That worries me even more! No one should gain that much weight in a week. Something is wrong. Honestly......you need to see a Dr. like right now. Did you have your surgery in Mexico or in the U.S.? Get in to see a bariactric specialist if seeing your doctor in person is not an option. Please keep us updated. -

 I am short (5'3) and have always assumed they think all plus size people are amazon. I can't find a pair of pants to save my life. All my pants are hemmed at least 5 inches. -
Good. I don't want to be different from the group!

I have cut out the caffeinated diet Pepsi and went to diet caffeine free Pepsi in an effort to cut out the soda. I am mourning the loss of my diet Pepsi. I love diet Pepsi. My best bud. He will be the hardest to leave behind. If it gets too bad I will drink him flat occasionally. -

One word: Willpower. 30 grams is so low. The lowest I have ever gone is 80 and it was very difficult. She is a champ for staying on board with it! She is on her way to a new life. -

I just wanted to see how the pre op diet was going. Your daughter is lucky to have a parent that wants the best for her. I should have done this surgery years ago. I know she will have a much happier and healthier life.
