Someone is having surgery today and I can't find who it is. I have been looking. I wish I would have made a note. I am positive someone said Aug 7th.
  2. Don't forget your papers to get back across the border. What border crossing? The traffic in TJ can be bad esp on a Sat.

You that is great. When I had another surgery last year there is no way I could have walked around the block the first week.

You can go here: Glitter Graphics | Glitter Text | Myspace Glitter Text Graphics | GlitterTextGraphics.com or here: GlitterMaker.com - Glitter Graphics - Free Glitter Graphics - MySpace Glitter Graphics The last one is full of pop ups. I made several and saved the code so I can rotate around. The first link there are so many choices. Make the size smaller than 120 to preview though or some of the other fonts go off the screen. You can change inner and outline colors. The sig I am wearing right now was made at the last link. I wanted it to match my ticker for awhile. I might match my ticker to my sig....... humm..

    What's on your mind?

If you finished fixing all the bugs in QuickBooks why do I still have bugs? humm??
  7. My primary is Aetna and secondary is TriCare Prime (Military). My primary insurance plan does not cover WLS surgery but they are paying for all my work ups. The doctor and hospital are putting them in as health work ups not pre surgical work ups. This might be the key to getting your insurance to pay for some of the pre testing and such.
  8. Welcome Katie. I understand about money worries. I am an Accountant and as tight as they come. You know what? YOU are worth it. YOU need to get the surgery YOU want. Not what your insurance wants. If that means self pay then self pay it is. I am getting the sleeve because when I started this journey I was 212 down from a high of 223. I am 5'3 almost 5'4. RNY seems a bit drastic to me. You have a few more lbs but not much compared to some who need to lose 200 or more lbs. I would have been anti-Mexico at first but Aceves seems to have so much success and happy patients. I would look into it. Please keep us updated no matter what you choose. I love hearing peoples stories, good and bad.
  9. You are really close to surgery! It is interesting to read about someone with different fears than mine. Mine are more morbid I guess :blushing:. It never crossed my mind that I might not lose weight. I knew if I ate less I would lose weight. It is hard to eat less when you are always hungry. With a smaller tummy you will be less hungry. I know if I could just get a little help I will lose weight and I know you will too! This time will be different. Make sure you stick with the diet plan. Not just the mushies and such but a long term change the way you eat plan.

My 18 year old wants VS

Wow Labrys this is great! How much did she lose on her pre-op? What a lucky girl to have a mom taking care of her. I wish I had my mom, sniff, sniff.

My surgery is at a military hospital too but I had surgery a year ago at a private hospital and they wanted the nails and toe nail polish off too. I whined to my surgeon and he just said "I want to make sure your heart is beating and you have enough oxygen, is that a problem for you?:glare: Your life is the most important thing to me at that moment, not the latest fad in nail color." Me: "Err, No problem here" :blushing: This time I didn't bother arguing. The nails are already half off. The part by your cuticle is the hardest to get off. Edit: Oh and taking your toe nail polish off helps them make sure you are getting circulation to your feets!

You guys are so awesome! Seriously! I am going to weigh once every two days now. I can't stop completly or I am affraid I will gain weight and not make weight on my surgery date. But this twice a day is causing too much stress. It is also driving my husband crazy. I also wish now that I had not old so many people but I am a huge blabber. At work I almost had no choice. I work at a smaller company and I am a huge part of the daily operations. I had a ton of appointments and everyone would have been worried and gossiping anyway as to why I was out so much. Now I guess they can just gossip for a different reason. I think you are right Susan. Some have weight issues and probably need to have surgery or step up and do something. Many are skinny minis on the verge of having eating disorders. What a mess of people with issues it is. Again thanks so much. You guys have no idea how much better I felt yesterday having non judgemental support.

I don't have to do twice a day but for one week. I have to remove my acrylic nailes (ouchie) and toe nail polish too.

I drink Water to make water weight go away? I hate that damn scale. I actually didn't worry that much about my weight until someone was breathing down my neck about it......of course maybe that is why I am where I am at eh.

It is tough being overweight in SoCal! For me there is so much I want to do!! Disneyland, Magic Mountain, Knotts berry, etc. Tough to spend a whole day there now. Should be better in the future.

Hi Donali, I live in East County. Where are you at? After you are feeling better and I am feeling better (like mid Sept for me) we should go out walking!

Thanks for the support guys and the nice private messages. I really do appreciate it. It is amazing what we go through just getting to surgery, not to mention what I have seen people going through after surgery. Easy way my a**.

Thanks guys. I am feeling a little better. I think if I could get a good nights sleep it would help. I will write more later.
  21. Sounds yummy...... I have not had surgery yet but none of this sounds ok to continue. You can burn your esophagus and cause bleeding and sores to form. Also I don't think throwing up is good for your new tummy. I am affraid you are going to get a leak. Does your doctor understand the amount of reflux your having. You need something more than Zantac. Call your doctor and insist on some help. Keep us posted!

    Interesting! Keep us updated.
  23. The last one is me. I can't tell you how much stress it has put on me. I dream that I arrive and I the scale is broken so it shows I have gained 20 lbs. I weight myself twice a day, every day. If I gain a half a pound I don't eat the next meal or I shake only until the half a pound is gone. It is no way to live but I have no choice. I can't tell you how many tears have been shed on my scale in the last 7 weeks. No pre surgery diet for me. I guess the ultrasound showed my liver was small.

I have no blog so I doubt you have read it! No new technique for me. Wait what new technique? I will be in 3 nights as long as I pee enough, do enough laps around the station, breath like I am supposed to into the incentive thing, and I think I have to have a "movement".
