    August Sleevers

Was it on an xray they saw the shadow? What happened? Fill us in!! I am worried about you. I was not to nausous (sp) or gassy but I did have an incredible amount of spasms in my esophagus and stomach. It was terrible. Someone finaly listened to me and I got some valium. That stopped the spasms cold. I know another person on this board has been having trouble with spasms since surgery. I feel for you girlfriend. They are the pit of hell.

    August Sleevers

Sounds like a modified plan. I don't have to do full liquids as long as you do but am doing clears for 2 days before and 7 after (or 8 can't remember in my starved state). As far as the pills go. And it was me.........just if it was me.......not giving medical advice here.........I would ask your pharmacisit which ones can be crushed and crush those for a few weeks. But that is just me. To be on the safe side. I wouldn't want a pill hanging out in my staple line causing irritation. Again just me.

    decisions....

Welcome!! I was going to get the band but I also was not crazy about he foregin object. Once I started reading all the complications I knew it was not for me. I searched long and hard on the net for complications storries of the sleeve. They are there but near as many. It might just be less have been done than the band but I believe it also just does not have as many daily life problems as the band. I also wanted a permanent solution. They say the band is permanent but it only has a life of 10 years so that is not very permanent is it?

    What's on your mind?

:001_wub: My wonderful hubby bought me new panties. He was careful to say he only bought 6 pairs because I looked silly walking around with my panties down. He looked at the too big ones and bought a size down. They fit perfect. He knew I would never do it myself. How did I get so lucky?

    Surgery Week of August 24th?

Jello does slide into the cracks. I am not hungry at all today. Of course it could be all the excitement and I was running around work this morning trying to make sure I had thought of everything before leaving. I am now drinking my "stuff". It is called Magnesium Citrate Oral Solution Saline Laxative, lemon flavor. It tastes like what you would expect Mr. Clean lemon would taste like. I can already feel my tummy rumbling. I have a feeling the bathroom and I will be best buds by the end of the day. How ya doing sleeve sista?

    B.C. Pills

I have been taking Yaz B.C. pills to regulate my periods, reduce breakouts, cramps, and PMS. My husband has had a vas so I am not worried about getting preggers. My doctor told me the pill will not work at all after surgery and just mess up my hormones further so no point in taking it. It also puts me at a higher risk for blood clots. He wanted me to stop taking it right then so I will be fine for surgery. I noted I was in middle of a pack and he said stop anyway. Ok fine. What should I expect? I have never stopped in middle of a pack. I feel ok but I am afraid I am going to get a suddent rush of blood or something crazy. I searched the web and didn't find much. Anyone stopped mid pack before?

    Help!

I have tricare west prime. My surgery is being done at a military facility. Are you eligible for tricare prime? Where is the closest military facility to you? What is your status? (active, retired) Sorry so many questions. I believe we can work around this and get you the sleeve!!! Lots of us Military girls around. Oh and which region tricare do you have?

    B.C. Pills

I just wanted to throw up one more update for any reading in the future. TMI Alert: 78 hours after stopping I started flowing heavy. That lasted 3 days then stopped. I would go a few days and then spot, go a few days and spot. Now I think I am having my "normal" period but it is heavy, full of clots, and taking forever. At the rate I am going I will still be flowing for surgery on Wed. That should be nice once I get the Heparin (blood thinner) shot. I have not had a period like this since I was like 15 or 16. I would honestly have postponed my surgery a month and finished the pill pack. Emotionally it has been a hot poker in an already hot fire. Just kinda hard to deal with. Feel free to message me if you have questions.

    2 days, really?

What a mess I am this morning. Crying, crying and more crying and I don't want to drink my clear juice (super duper berry blaster). I want my decaff Starbucks non fat latte. Not much more to say. I am filled with anxiety but excited too. Humm. I keep thinking of skinny clothes and hiking trips. Soon, very soon.

I think you did the right thing I really do. Oreo muncher has already been at me this morning. I came in crying because I am having a lot of anxiety. She was like "see I told you this is a sign it is not (munch munch) good for you to do to your body (munch munch)." I told her to hush. I didn't want to hear about it anymore. If she didn't hush I would write her up for gossiping. She has been quiet. :lol0:

    Surgery Week of August 24th?

This morning was awful! Tears galore. Scared tears but not like "what am I doing tears" just anxiety. So far clears is ok but I have only been up 3 hours lol. I can't whine too much about clears. I know people have done 11, 14, 16 days. UGH.

Ahh yes. I got a lecture on Friday about "Are you sure you want to do this? They can't put that part of your stomach back in you know." UHHH YEAH. I have a degree in Biology and Accounting. You could say I am an educated woman. I KNOW. Now stfu and go eat your sweets you eat every single day and whine about not losing weight. I mean seriously. How can you eat two rows of Oreos EVERYDAY and think you will lose weight and feel like you can lecture me about how I am already not eating enough in prep for the surgery and I will starve to death after surgery (they are being serious). Are you really going to lecture me about nutrition?????? Do you know my major in biology was nutrition???? I know you know because you have asked me a million times. Ahh that felt great to get that out. (clarification my major was the Science of Nutrition, not Clinical Nutrition. I can tell you how the body breaks the amino acid chains and why but obviously I can't follow a meal plan very well)

    been sleeved

Welcome home! I understand about the food thing. I am not even sleeved yet and I am already tired of food talk 24/7. I have really been careful about my own food issue the last 4 months and I look around and see many people who have food issues too.
  25. Millie thank you so much for sharing your story. I hope others read it and take your problems into consideration when deciding to get the band. What a terrible time you have had. Do you have a surgery date yet for the sleeve?
