    August Sleevers

Hi Travel Chick! I looked at my surgical paperwork and listed is possible removal of spleen and gall bladder. My doctor had discussed with me that other organs being damaged was a risk of surgery in such a tight space with lots of extra abdominal fat to complicate things. Don't worry. Lots of people live without their spleen no problem. At least you can't get speen cancer now. Glad you are home and doing well!

    Two days out.

Oh that sucks. By output do you meen peeing? I had the worse trouble the third day. It seems like your bladder and brain are not connected yet. I am not sure they still are as I never know until the last minute now that I need to pee. I am glad you are home. Don't try and clean that house yourself! You need to rest. Make whoever made the mess clean it up. You are not a maid. Your a person who needs rest, walking, and sips!
  3. HA! I am not the only one who loses my panties in public.
  4. Anyone having surgery the week of August 24th and want to be surgery buddies? My surgery is August 26th. I would love a buddy. I can be on yahoo messenger all day at work (when I go back after two weeks) and can receive texts all day. For the two weeks after surgery I am available through email, messenger, and text so I can be an available buddy for support!

    August Sleevers

Oh ok. I have not lost any weight since Thursday. It is silly but I feel anxious about it. I don't want to have gone through all this for 12 lbs. I am sick of clears. 9 day down, 12 days to go. I will never eat broth or Jello happily again.

When exactly do you guys feel like you are in a stall? Is there a magic number of days or?

    Dehydration Issues.

I honestly think 48 oz is great for right now. It seems if you stress yourself it just goes down worse. As long as you are peeing a mid to light yello and not dizzy you are doing good. Just keep at it.

I understand about the pain! I am glad you made it through it. Things only get better from here. Keep us updated.

    Dehydration Issues.

Have you tried to Water down the crystal light? I watered it down 3:1 or it is too sweet for me too. Make sure your Jello bites are really small and liquid when you swallow them. Don't worry the going down wrong part gets better with time. I am 9 days out and just got to 35 oz a day. I am dehydrated I can tell by my urine. Just keep sipping. That is what I do. Oh and popcicles, lots of SF popcicles really do help.

    clear liquid requirement

Don't worry cat it does. I am 8 days out and it is easier now to drink. I promise it gets better as you heal. Oh and congrats to you if you are getting 40 oz! I just got 35 yesterday.

I knew I should have gone to trader joes sooner! I would love to meet my protein in two drinks instead of 3.5. My stomach gets to a point at the end of the day it does not want anything but water.

    clear liquid requirement

I am using unjury. I can't even tell it is mixed in unless I dump the whole packet into like 4 oz. Better to use 8 oz or more and sip. It does foam what you are drinking a little so I put it in the fridge for about 8 mins. I don't like the foam. It makes me burp and that hurts sometimes. Oh and hicups after surgery.........
  14. I was in the hospital 3 days and would have been fine home alone. In fact like Susan said it would have been better maybe the first day to be alone. DH bugged me all day because he missed me while I was gone and wanted to talk and play x box. I just wanted to take little walks and nap. I drove for the first time yesterday but that was just because I didn't need to until then. I could have driven 5 days out.

    Dehydration Issues.

I will chime in on the TMI. I am 8 days out and have only had 2 movements, if you could call them that. I am still passing gas and my husband can hear sounds so I am not worried. I don't feel bloated. I feel for you with liquids. It is hard. I wish I would have done this during the winter when it was a constant 70 out.

    Surgery Week of August 24th?

I bought a whole bunch. They are good! In fact I think I will go have one.......

    clear liquid requirement

The unflavored is great. It is the only thing getting me by since I don't want my shakes. I mix it with crystal light.

    LIQUIDS how long 4u?

Hi Alisa. I just wanted to let you know you are not the only one. I was given the wrong diet plan at the hospital, they gave me the lap band one. Arrgggg!! I will be on clear liquids in Sept 17th. How are you doing? I am not looking foward to 2 more weeks of broth and Jello but whatever.

    New Photos

I see a HUGE difference. You look great. Your tummy is smaller. Your face looks great. You look great. Remember when you see yourself everday. It is hard to see changes that way.
  20. Oh guys I am having a bad time with night reflux. Or at least I think it is reflux. I wake up coughing and feeling like something is stuck in my throat. Not the "stuck" from food feeling but like a tickle making me cough. I try to take sips of Water but it does not help. My doctor has me on Prilosec twice a day. Once in morning and once at night. To be honest I am kind of scared to bring it up to my "team" member. I know this person does not like me (they have told me). I doubt it will get much attention. Should I run through it the first several weeks and see if it goes away? Should I ask for a strong acid reducer? Did you have reflux at night? Does it sound like reflux? Ugh. Oh I never had a problem with it before surgery so I don't know how it feels.

    Surgery Week of August 24th?

Hi! Wow a week. I can't believe it. I went out on Saturday and Sunday. Both times were quick trips to the store with my husband. I was dizzy and sweating by the time we got home. I think it is normal. I feel good so it was odd that just a little bit of walk around the store could do me in. Before surgery I was walking 5 miles. I go around the block now several times a day. It is hard because it has been hot here as I am sure it is there too. I have got on the scale. Couldn't help it. 12 lbs as of Monday. I am sure some of it is Water weight as I am consuming so much less sodium but it is great to see movement. It seems all my loss is in my limbs though! My arms have small bat wings and my legs are much smaller. Now I just look like a weeble wobble perched on small flabby limbs. Great just what I wanted :glare: Oh and my "girls" seem to be hanging lower. I asked hubby if they looked more saggy and he was evasive so that means yes. I have not bothered measuring because I still feel like my abdomen is swollen. I am not one to be real worried about measurements anyway. To be honest I am struggling with liquids. I have a headache today and my urine output is not great. I am going to start measuring today (TMI). I took a clean one of those hat things for the toilet home from the hospital just in case. I am glad I did. I was told not to worry about Protein the first week but try and consume as much as possible. I am getting about 40 grams a day. It takes me an hour to drink a shake so I could add another and was thinking of doing that today. With shakes counted I am only getting about 25 oz of Fluid a day. I am going to try and do better today. It is so hard because I still am dealing esophagus spasms. I seem to be able to drink more later in the day so I need to just get on it and sip, sip, sip more. It seems thirst went away with hunger.

    cost of nexium in mexico

Because I don't think this "mups” preparation is available in the U.S. The law does not just apply to narcotics/controlled substances. It also states a different "preparation". Meaning something that comes OTC in pills in the U.S. can not be bought in Mexico as a liquid and brought back across the border without a scrip. I only brought this up because a friend of mine got in serious trouble about 10 years ago. She purchased an expensive medicine in Mexico and was stopped at the border. She had a prescription for the medicine but in pill form, not liquid. The pharmacy she went to in TJ was out of pills so the pharmacist gave her liquid. She was detained for 24 hours and had to hire a lawyer. The charges were dropped but it was a nightmare. She never went to TJ again. This is how I learned the law does not say anything about if the preparation is a controlled substance or not. Different “preparations” is how one part reads regarding any “regulated” substance. OTCs are regulated by the FDA. To be clear in her situation the medication was a controlled substance but it was anti rejection medication. Not exactly a drug with street potential. I am sure a ton of people have crossed the border with no problem after having surgery. My friend had done this for years. Her parents did it and never gave it a second thought. It was just that one time they did a random search. Better to ask Dr. Aceves for a scrip to be written than sit with in a cell for 24 hours.

    Final Bash?

I would say go for it. I did a whole week of final farewells so if you just do one day you are a champ in my book!
