  1. Umm wow. I am in awe that you don't have a treatment plan from the doctor. Did they not explain how they planned on treating the clot? Did you get anything to disolve it?
  2. It's funny I am ok in the morning but I have spent several nights in tears because no matter how hard my family tries to eat on the sly I can still smell it. I don't want them to live differently because of a decision I made of my own free will so I just leave the room when they eat. I am not hungry but I am wanting some variety. This is getting so old that for a few days I didn't drink anything but Water and gatorade. Then I had to put my big girl panties on and force myself back on shakes. People always ask "How can you live on so few calories" I am like "dunno, I am not hungry or lightheaded so I must be fine. I only get about 400 a day". Besides did they not notice I have plenty of "reserves" :biggrin2:
  3. Don't ever be embarrased to ask here! Click "Calendar" on the menu bar at the top. You will see a "Add new Event" box towards the bottom right, click "single all day event" Put mnb's Surgery or mnb's VSG or whatever you want to put in the title. This what will show up on the calendar so make it kinda short so people can easily see. Choose your event date. Important, I think it defaults to today's date. Click "Save Event" at the bottom. Thats it!
  4. Just in my exp I don't know that I could have swolled any amount of morphine the first 24 hours. I was not allowed to swallow anything but my own spit the first 24 hours. I used the swabbies to keep my mouth moist but was careful not to swallow. After 24 hours I was allowed to drink some Water. I could only drink about 1/8 an ounce to 1/4 an ounce. Yes that is right, an ounce. So if the liquid morphine dose is 15 mL as an example you are going to be drinking it slow. Will it be able to get on top of your pain as fast? I don't know. I would be worried about it. But again that is just me. Oh also I was onl liquid loritab after the morphine pump was taken away and it hit my stomach like a freight train, I could feel it going down and spreading around my stomach, not really painful but ........concerning is the word. I had to drink a little water, then loritab, then water, then loritab. The first 3 days it took 30-40 mins just to get my pain meds drank. I don't know how hard liquid morphine is on the stomach. Again maybe just me.

Scared of transition to soft food

    How is it going Rose?
  6. I can stand the Isopure Artic Punch but that is the only flavor. I found a new shake my stomach likes so I can drink that. I am on clears until the 17th so my stomach and brain have just about had enough of jello, broth, and shakes. It was getting to the point all my shakes would make me nauseous just looking at them. My water intake is doing better. What I wouldn't give for some strained cream soup right now. It must taste like heaven.

The burning instead of eating less is a good idea. I know you have some mobility issues. How about lifting cans of food while sitting on the couch. Arm lifts and curls. Start with that. Maybe each commercial break take a lap around the house without fail.
  8. Oh my. I stayed 2 nights and three days. Was supposed to be 3 nights and 4 days but I begged out early. I was ready to go home. I honestly can not even imagine going home the same day and I didn't even have my gallbladder removed. I had my husband with me and still needed the hospital staff and doctors doing their rounds the first 24 hours. I needed my urine output monitored. I needed a morphine pump the first 24 hours. You are not going to get that at home. I feel you need a second opinion. Being self pay it is tough decision. Just to take out an organ cus you are there does not seem like a good enough reason to me.

    August Sleevers

Welcome to the silent reader! The only Isopure I can drink is Artic Punch. The rest is just bad news. 29 days and 38 lbs WOW. Congrats!

    Two days out.

Sleeve sista!!! Oh no. That is awful. I am so sorry you are going through this. Did they tell you where the clot is? Were you having symptoms of low potassium? Most important did you get a room with a view?

Welcome! I think you will find everyone on this board to be great.
  14. Thanks so much guys. You all have given me so many ideas to try and get more in. Being on clears limits my options so much. On the positive note I did so much better today with fluids. It is amazing how you do better and better each day. You guys are great. Hugggggggs for all.

    NSV shout outs

I have had one so far. I am not wearing womens size clothes anymore. They are too uhhh wide. I am back to regular sizes, no more "W" after the size. I have an iTouch. I love it. Best thing I ever bought. I highly recomend getting the wi sniffer. It is how I find all the open hotspots.

    Dating sucks

Umm I see. If he can't be honest with something as basic as smoking he wil lie like a dog with everything else. I met my husband through my ex husband's work....... but that is another thread.

    Liquid Preop and calories

Make sure you are getting at least 500mg of sodium a day. It sounds like you are no problem but that is the minimum your body needs to complete certain osmotic functions.

    Two days out.

I have been dealing with non stop cramps in my feet and calves since right after surgery. It got so bad they scanned me for clots in my legs. None there. It sucks. Hopefully it goes away soon.

Lisa I really feel some professional counseling will help you as well as exploring the posibility of going forward with a DS. I think you, like almost all of us here are dealing with an addiction that is hard to keep control of. Drug addicts don't have to be exposed every single day to the drug of their choice. We are expected to consume our drug of choice and not go overboard. When you think about it that way it seems like a huge wall we must climb. Society does not help either by just making us feel like we are just lazy, not in need of help. Keep us updated. We are here for you.

    Liquid Preop and calories

I was not given any instructions on how many calories to consume in the first 3 weeks. I don't track my calories, but rather protein, ounces, and sodium. I would guess I am around 400 calories.

I am glad you are coughing and not me. Sorry to say. I can't imagine having a coughing fit right now. Even a burb hurts and hicups......ugh. I think everyone is gone for the holiday. I am about to go and do some organizing I have been needing to do. I decided to go back to work early so I need to get things done I wanted to get done on my time off today.
